8:55 Based off this play, and what i've seen in the axis 24 trailer, to me it looks like the 'improved defense' is a lazy, general 'fix' to give the defense ai an unfair boost, but only to mask the game's flaws with it's unnatural, players gliding up the field as if they were Sonic The Hedgehog player movement, which led to outside runs, kick/punt returns, and bomb throws being so broken. From the clips I've seen, those problems are still in axis, but I wouldn't list that as an improvement, more like a band aid. Reminds me of that awful gameplay 'greathouse' patch for the backbreaker football game, where instead of the devs fixing the gameplay, they lazily 'upped the defense awareness', so that player ratings no longer mattered, and each team defended the same, no matter what.
To me, axis is about exploiting the niche crowd that hates madden so much, that they lie to themselves that this...THIS is somehow acceptable gameplay. The trailer for axis 24 lists 'new stadiums' as a new 'improvement, which is just a mere lazy color swap. Still no block shedding animations. The qb issue where he unrealistically faces the player, then magically throws a laser without even looking at the wr has always been a problem with axis. It's a game with gameplay that wouldn't be tolerated in the original playstation days, with late ps2/early ps3 era graphics, with horrible presentation. Game should be free to play. The horrible moment at 8:00 would make me delete the game immediately...yet, that's just one of it's game breaking flaws...EVERY SINGLE YEAR.
