Thanks for the video. Your rose is absolutely beautiful. I planted a Getrude Jekyll rose earlier this year. One problem I have is that it grew a new stem, and it looks like many of the leaves were eaten by some insect, but I do not see any insects so I am not sure what it was. However, the older leaves at the bottom were not eaten. I was wondering if you use any type of spray to prevent the rose from insects and disease.
Thanks for your comment. I do not spray on my Gjekyll and I admit this year it was not as pretty because of the heavy rain it developed black spots. I will pick up all diseased leaves come autumn, apply new horse manure mulch and rose feed in the next spring and hope for another chance. That is all I have done in the past. Good luck 😅😄
Thats very beautiful! Mine is 2 year old but it is very stingy to give me flowers! The whole growing season just gave me Some blooms and thats it! Bloom is very sporadic! Petals drop too quick! So I pulled it out for something else!
Thanks I use toprose (wideley available in the uk)and following the instructions on the package for climbing rose. Also put loads of farmyard manure once in the spring.
I know this is a short climber not sure if suitable as container grown but it does exist in shrub form. It is best to check the David Austin website to see suitability. I hope that helps.
Absolutely Gorgeous!!😃
Thank you 😊
It’s nice to see the blooms so low down.
Yes, I love it too ; we have to train the branches sideways from top to bottom to achieve the look. Thanks for watching 😊
Thank you for your help. I live in N Wales.
It’s lovely! What happened to the Bathsheba that was previously in this location shown in your trellis installation video?
I replaced it because the blooms burn in the sun too rapidly. This is a full sun/south aspect.
@anorthfacinggarden9045 so this rose gets 6 plus hours of direct sunlight?
Thanks beautiful rose you're growing 😊
Looking fantastic naffy :)
Thanks can wait to see all of yours😊
These roses are gorgeous 😍

@@anorthfacinggarden9045 Thanks for your help. I hope mine looks like yours in a few years!
How much sun does she get?
Beautiful rose, I planted 2 in my garden. First flash is very good, but not good repeat rose.
Love your GJ. Mine has been spectacular this year
It never disappoints, currently my favourite DA rose
Gorgeous!
thank you😁
So beautiful
Besutiful!
Thanks 😊
Wonderful looking rose, are the stems strong enough to support such a large flower.
@stuartthomas4836 The blooms do not look down like some of the other roses with high petal count. I always sniff before entering my house 🤗😊

Aww, sometimes the soil conditions may affect performance. I hope the replacement rose gives you much joy ☺
Is she a repeat bloomer for you? Beautiful ❤
I’d like to know too
It’s beautiful. Do they continuously bloom for you. Spring to first frost?
Thanks, it blooms in flushes which lasted till early autumn in my region this was September.
What rose feed do you use and soil ? Lovely ❤

Maybe I missed it but how old is your G. Jekyll. It is gorgeous
It was bought as a container grown rose planted in summer 2021
@@anorthfacinggarden9045 Do you know if it can be container grown and grown as a climber? Thanks for great videos

What's the name of this clrmatis?
Can I grow this in a large pot?
I wouldd suggest growing the shrub form in a container
