Your Flog is excellent, however there was little interaction with the local people. You talked of the geology(elephant mountains) a twist in the story from the locals would have added some spicy into your story, so far congrants, I give you 7/10.

Self drive will be tiresome unless you have like a month's leave so you can rest in between or with friends to rotate driving.... Check the different licenses you need for borders
