    ...I love the LAPG tactical shorts - especially the Atlas line with the zippered side pockets vs the Velcro pockets

    I am glad that I finally tried there pants and shorts . I grabbed one pair of the operator elite shorts . As well as 2 reg operator pants and 2 reg operator shorts . I can say I was very happy with the fit of the operator and even more so with the elite shorts which I am wearing now in fact . I really like the extra strategically placed extra pockets on the elite also . I am going to grab a pair of these new xtx shorts as it is getting hot here in FL .

    Been wearing a pair for a couple of years now. Almost perfect. Two issues: 5 belt loops is not enough. Whether you like to keep gear pressed against a loop or just putting your belt on and off. There's a reason why other brands use 7. Second issue is the hard plastic zipper pulls themselves. If you're an actual operator, your handgun or any other solid object in your hand will bang up against the zipper pulls. And the sound that makes is surprisingly loud. I wish the zipper pulls were thin fabric pull-tabs. Overall, I'd definitely buy them again.

      Nice as these pants are, I feel like if I was an actual operator, which I am nowhere near, I'd be wearing more expensive pants.

    Excellent review, very thorough. I've watched many tactical pants reviews and most of them forget to show the inside. Since I'll be buying these pants online it's nice to get as many details as possible. Thanks!

    I've worn lapg's exclusively for years. I've put them through everything and they've held up better than even much more expensive tru-specs. These fix my only complaint which is the velcro on other varieties leg pocket

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They still need dividers in the cargo pocket so you can put a cell phone in there without it moving around. Then they'd be close to perfect for an every day pant.

  • @KosukiFire

    Iv had LAPD and 5.11 Stryker pants for 5 years, same pairs. Always wash inside out,. Kn cold, use shoirt and tide mix. NO FABRIC SOFTENER. Use a dryer sheet if you must, but NO liquid softener

    Almost every pair of LA Police Gear pants that I have purchased over the years, has had to be sent back or replaced due to being defective. The most consistent problem seems to be the leg length. I've had length be 3" too long. More often then not, I got one leg longer than the other by an inch or two. The only version that I have had success with were the casual covert series. Absolutely love them. Too many problems, too often, to continue to buy their products. Side note: I was given two of their flashlights as Christmas gifts, both broke within a few days, and had to be replaced multiple times before I threw them away, and gave up. Huge bummer.

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I now have a ton of their pants and the only "problem" I ever have with them is that the waist runs 2" short. Never had a problem with the length though. Odd.

    • @johnbasler4119
      @johnbasler4119 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know i won't be purchasing. Looks like you're making money off of factory seconds. As factory seconds they are way over priced.

    • @8654ZuluFoxtrot
      @8654ZuluFoxtrot 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Same here...only issue I've ever had with their pants is the waist size. And if you understand to simply order one size up, it's not actually a problem, right?

    • @johnbasler4119

    I do like LAPG but sizing is a gamble from them.

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of the recent pants seem to have correct sizing. The old ones were all 2" small, but yea, I ask every time to be sure

  • @FairlyUnknown
    @FairlyUnknown 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I really like LAPoliceGear pants, but what always irks me is how wide they all are from the knee down. I wish they made a line more geared towards a slimmer fit, because they could easily remove a few inches around the calf area without sacrificing ease of movement. A more tapered profile would be welcomed. As someone in their early/mid 20s, having a less baggy look would be ideal and I struggle to find a pair of tac pants that are slim. If LAPG did that, I don't think I would ever look at another brand for pants because they do everything else so well.

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea, they are cut pretty generous

  • @VictoryOrValhalla14
    @VictoryOrValhalla14 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a pair. Decent pant, pretty comfortable. My big beef with them are no flaps on the back pocket and not enough belt loops. With the stretch material they won't last long in hard use. I'd rather use their original cargo pants.

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree on the belt loops and the longevity of the STS material remains to be seen. I don't mind the back pockets as I never put anything in them though.

    • @VictoryOrValhalla14
      @VictoryOrValhalla14 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had to sow down the back flap on a Stryke pants that would always flip out if I didn't. I'd rather have no back flaps because who wants to sit down and feel something in a pocket back there? That's what all the other pockets are for. ;P

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea, I don't like sitting on things in my back pockets.

    I was thinking about ordering this pants but many of the reviews were too old. This review made me thinking to get the pants. I like the details of each pocket & size and the way he review the pockets and pant. I read other reviews about the size and the problem of the waist size. I used to wear Blackhawk Tactical 33x32 with their flex with no problems, So if I order 34x32, should that take care of the waist? I like the zipper cargo having things fall out in Blackhawk pants, and the back flaps, do not like the button in front, will replace it with snap.

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are good pants. It's hard to say if a 34 would work. It might. A 36 would probably be too big, so I'd give the 34 a try.

  • @Charok1
    @Charok1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    They finally made proper front pockets! Aww, they are up to high...
    Well I bought more Stryke pants so I'm good for another year. I get tan ones so they don't show wear at the knees like other colors.
    I wish nylon didn't melt on your skin because I felt better in heat & cold with %100 nylon than polyester/cotton.

    • @SnareMan

    • @TrevorTheRBLXGamer78

      SnareMan with flash heat they can melt, like from an IED. But I’m pretty sure no pants will hold up well to an IED blast.

  • @TonberryShuffle
    @TonberryShuffle 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had issues with the stretch pannels wearing out. Not sure what's up with that but it means I'll be replacing the pants each after only a few months of regular wear for work. For the price it's not horrible but It's a pain in the ass having to pick up more pairs.

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  6 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @eje1079
    @eje1079 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great review but I would've added a few things. These are tactical pants. How does an AR magazine fit in the top front facing pocket? I know a that a lot of guys use them for that. Also, how do pistol magazines fit in that lower front facing pocket? Thanks. Have a great night.

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. I'd think a pistol mag would fit fine in that front thigh pocket, although it might be an odd place for it sitting out in the open. I'll check the AR mag fit, but as long as the mag (in whichever case) are smaller than the measurements I did they should fit. I'll check on it though when I get home.

      Tough one. It depends on the use as each has features that others don't have. If I had to pick just one pair from my collection of WAY too many it would either be one of the Vertx pants or the 5.11 Apex pants if I wanted something little more under the radar as they don't have the ripstop material.

      The pants are great and as far as the sizing goes, they are sized before the elastic is installed so if you want them looser then get them a bit larger.

    • @davidhuxtable8918
      @davidhuxtable8918 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      2x sizes above yer usual sizing is the recommended advice for lapg pants in general as there can be slight shrinkage after 1st wash and the tops can come elasticated also! which pulls in the waist after wash
