Did anyone even belong from Konkan who took them for Malvani thali? You guys were not aware of some of the dishes. That puri is called Kombadi Vade, that Dosa this is called Ghavane, Modak stuffing is made from coconut and jaggery.

They can't have people from all the regions right? Tourists usually stick with north indian food and the most popular thalis. Atleast they took them for a malvani food. Offcourse rick and korbin won't remember all the names but main intention is the taste.

Exactly.... That's exactly what I felt in First few minutes.... Like the people who made them have Malvani Food experience didn't even do justice to even summarising it.. Some just sat in the front and said taste this and taste that... The malvani cuisine they had In front if them, some of those dishes had there own identity... It's like someone from giving them Chicken Tikka masala and saying eat this Chicken Gravy...

They are exposed to so many dishes, it is hard for them to get real taste. For instance Kombadi Wade, a separate dish. It's funny that they are eating vada with solekadhi!!!

    • @gauravw6947

@Kaustubh Korgaonkar Even if they didn't know the dishes, they could've asked the waiters around to explain the the dishes to them, instead of spreading false information and acting like they know everything... One of the waiters even prompted "jhingaa" to them, but the girl didn't know what it is... Probably these so-called "guides" felt ashamed to admit their ignorance... It was weird to hear someone telling to eat modak in one go...

Maharashtra's geography is quite hilly due to the western ghats which makes the internal regions quite inaccessible to each other. This resulted in many subcultures developing there.
The weather varies a bit too. West of the ghats receives a lot of rain and east of the ghats are relatively dry. So, that brings about a lot of difference in what crops are grown and what cuisines develop.

Unfortunately Rick and especially Korbin didn't know the right mix and match combo. Not their fault at all.
