Thanks, very good video that made it easy to see what your fingers were doing. I'll be using it to tie in my peep sight on my new Diamond SB-1 bow. After I get the peep tied in, I'll continue wrapping serving as I move away from the peep. I'm new to archery and your video really helped me understand the constrictor knot, the clove hitch, too. Thanks again!

Great knot, the double constricter works great especially on slippery surfaces

You can sometimes get the constrictor knot untied but it is not easy.

I have stopped using the clove hitch and now use the constrictor knot. Just as easy to tie and much more secure.

Be careful on what you tie this to though. She sinches down tight and you may need a knife to get it off. Clove hitch is easier to come undone but doesn’t have the same strength as constrictor.

My all-time favorite knot! It is possible to undo a constrictor knot if it is binding hard materials. It's just not meant to be easy...

I wanted to ask something about this knot. Now, I understand that what I am about to discuss is rather extreme, but if I happened to have some rock climbing rope with me, and someone was in some kind of an accident where I would need use a tourniquet on them, in an emergency situation, to stop them from bleeding out. Would a constrictor knot, around and arm or leg, be able to get the job done? I will completely understand if you would rather have a medical professional answer a question like this, but I was just curious as to how once cinched, this kind of knot doesn't come loose, if it could be used in an emergency.
