Hands down - best live version ever recorded 💯 throughout the years whenever I was in the mood for Electric Gypsy..this is the version I’d always come back to..the bass player added so much to this as well..what a legend!
Love this tune, Classic, Awesome technic, Great feeling, Tone that never ends. You got it all Andy. I enjoy this every time I hear it. I look forward to many more years of your music..
THX for upload, you made an extremely happy person!! Timmons is one of the few which make me watch the same performance several times, he is illuminated! And this band is wonderfoul!!
Been a while since I came back to listen to this Ear Candy. And it struck me, this has 6 thumbs down/dislikes. WTF?!! What kind of tone-deaf simpletons cannot dig this? This is awesome, to vote thumbs down on this is to officially record your utter lack of taste in music or ability to appreciate playing of the highest ability.
What the serious fuck... a couple of slips but no real audible mistakes at all... I dream of being able to play like that out of my ass all the time...
Fuckin' awesome!! This guy does NOT get the notoriety he deserves. I remember I used go see Andy & The Pawn Kings EVERY Wednesday night at Blue Cat Blues in Deep Ellum.
It's also interesting to me to see him using the TransAtlantic so much for these smaller gigs in place of the Stiletto. I know he told me his Keeley modded blues driver pedal was getting his tone there without the Stiletto.
Love hearing and seeing him play at ZinZen. Great venue. I still think my favorite version is the recent one where he's playing outside across the parking lot from here and he's playing his Strat. I don't think he was happy with his tone as he yells at the guitar a couple of times, but it's very similar to this version with a stretched out middle solo. It was fun to hear it on a Strat for once instead of the AT. Although the AT is overall probably a better sounding guitar for him.
it's called tap harmonics, You finger a fret, and then instead of striking the string with your pick, you tap the octave up from that fret on the same string. for example, on the G string place your finger on the 7th frett, then gently tap the 19th frett on the G string with your other hand and you'll get that harmonic :)
Yes, I love this live Version even at low res and over modulated audio! But if you want a real treat watch Andy play the same song with Martin Miller and make sure you have headphones on. It is bliss! th-cam.com/video/AotIQzCZrwo/w-d-xo.html
This is definitely the best version ever.
Coming here over and over again. Just wanted say a massive thank you to your for capturing this unique moment. Please never ever take this down.
I recorded and uploaded this vid on my first TH-cam channel. I'll never take it down :)
I wish I had a better camera/phone back then.....

That playing is out of this world.. Congratulations
awesome Bass Player, calm & sharp sound..
Watching this, makes me very happy!
Normally I'm annoyed when people post things like 'best performance?' in the video title but this version is crazy good

Raw emotion. Speaking a language only a few can understand. Loved it!

Going to see him in Toronto on March 29th...can't wait...agreed this is the best version I've seen of this song.
Nice bass work too!
Absolutely the best version of this amazing tune. Out of this world
I am blessed to live in the same Town as Mr. Timmons, and I have gotten to see his Genius live in small settings like this one. I am truly not worthy.
every version is awesome as usual!
this man should be more famous. A fact that angry me
Simply amazing.......How many different versions are there in his head??
this made me tear up
Gorgeous, if you want a better sound for Electric Gypsy check AT with Martin Miller Band, you will not be disappointed.

Thanks for sharing. Very nice version, indeed.
absolutely stunning
15 women were pregnant by the end of this performance.
Maybe not pregnant but I bet the floor was glazed
Logan Gabriel Yup. It has to be.
Marco Daniel As a man, I confess I also got pregnant.
Yes I just birthed triplets.
Andy Timmons has metronomes built in both hands , and as from tomorrow I am gonna look for a postman job ! A T = GENIUS , period !!!
Fuckin' awesome!! This guy does NOT get the notoriety he deserves. I remember I used go see Andy & The Pawn Kings EVERY Wednesday night at Blue Cat Blues in Deep Ellum.
From the heart to my soul.
Are you kidding me ? Andy machine! The best of Andy feelings
Andy is an awesome player both on an emotional and technical level with a tone to die for. I wish he'd play in UK more often.
0:38, crisp as an autumn morning. Just killer!
That improvised solo is really proof of Andy's musicality. Makes me proud to own an AT300!
sweet , thank you..
Simply awesome. Don't get me wrong. Andy's performance at Reggie's was phenomenal, but this version is my favorite.
Why can't there be more music like this today?
Best version to date...sweet AT Tone!
he is a beast
2:18 it's beautiful...
Cool video!!! Thanks!
awesome
Amazing tone!
just....wow...
Yes it is!! Dude😉
Reb Beach says Andy is the best player alive today.
It's true. The best!
Please, if anyone has a recording of this with better sound, let me hear it :)
It's also interesting to me to see him using the TransAtlantic so much for these smaller gigs in place of the Stiletto. I know he told me his Keeley modded blues driver pedal was getting his tone there without the Stiletto.
In answer to the question....yes
Damn, that's some tasty playing!
2:16... audio-monumental :) no words

A harmonic tapping. Tab right on top of the fret at 12 frets above the fretted note.

The great Tommy Young on Hammond B-3.
yes it is best version ever i totally admit it
indeed...

Do they tour? I would love to see them if try came around!
like the alternative middle solo.
Great song, I hear a lot of Neal Schon in this song
what the fuck. i have to go to this church
that was deffinately one of the best versions even though he hit one off note near the middle.
qu ebuena rola
HAHAHA I know right!
what is the technique he is using from: 0:50 to 1:33
Anyone know what amp he's playing?
Mesa Boogie Lonestar and Stiletto in stereo
check this version live : th-cam.com/video/A7H321yPs5M/w-d-xo.html
Of course Andy is so good. Further more better basist, especially unison part 4:24.
tough pulse
It's a good version for sure but I still think this one is better (starts around 1:45 after the Bass intro..) th-cam.com/video/Pf5yadex7EI/w-d-xo.html
Just ridiculous phrasing!
