My question is, why didn't the native deities strike down all the white men and their missionaries when they came and removed their shrines and cut down their groves to build churches to their god? Why instead would they strike the native people who accepted the christian god when their deities were unable defend against him? I myself I come from a very christian family so I am trying to understand.
I never said deities strike down those who refuse to worship them. How can they, when Odinani is polytheism. No Igbo deity can strike anyone down because they are Christians or worship other Gods. Unless such person has a definite business or breach of convenant with the deity For your first question, it may interest you to know that most people that loot grooves do not do so directly. They bribe locals who will do it on their behalf and they pay for the services. In that way, it's a business transaction. The deity comes for the person that stole not the person that bought. No white men burnt down shrine to build church to the best of my knowledge. Meanwhile, I understand your position that this sounds like fear mongering. But this video is about indigenous issues that only indigenous solution will only suffice. We have seen several cases to buttress our position on the issues the video addressed. It's not our intention to scare anyone. Dalu.
@@Ezeikolomuo Ok, I thank you for your response. I understand that is a choice that the natives made themselves. As for the indigenous issues, I guess I would not be able to relate as my family left when I was very young and they are Christian so I have no understanding of the traditional system. I have been trying to learn more about it so I can maybe adopt some of the philosophies which would be applicable to the modern times and movements and can be practiced wherever.
Hello @@munachi5294 , I would advise you to consider embracing the culture of your forefathers instead of Christianity which is the culture of the Europeans. Like you, I also came from a Christian family; my father is a pastor. Nze Tobe Osigwe was also raised as a Christian. However, as we grew up, we discovered the richness of our own traditional religion, which we find more suitable for us. I have chosen to follow Odinani without hesitation. In Odinani, the truth is revealed to us, not distorted or misled.

Oh really? Why?
Because I am not sure of the signs I'm seeing. Sometimes I believe, sometimes I don't
