i wish all reviewers would simply printout photos several times if not just one time like you did. kudos and thank you for the very precise review. exactly how it should be done.
My 7740 will jam thick photo paper every time if fed from the upper tray #1. The feed path is shorter than tray #2 and must make a sharp turn as it goes into the upper feed rollers. The thick paper simply won't double enough and results in a jam EVERY TIME. Feeding the paper from the bottom tray #2 allows the paper to take a less sharp turn at the rear and will engage into the upper feed rollers without jamming. The instructions are wrong and all the advice on TH-cam about this problem is wrong. Only feed thin paper from the upper tray and use the lower tray for thin or thick paper and you will eliminate the jam caused by thick photo paper.
Thank you for the video; I have two questions: do you installed any printing profile? which is the new model replacement model for this printer (Because this is an obsoleted model), thank you in advance for your support
hey, thank you for the review. do you recommend this for architectural drawings such as technical drawings which usually playing with line weight start from 0.01 mm? especially in plain paper. i also intend to use it for photography (3d rendering pictures) which is seems pretty ok from your review.
Hello! pretty cool and helpful video. Do you know if this printer works well with more porous papers? Maybe special papers like watercolor or anything a bit thicker, almost like thin cardboard, like the one you would use for greeting cards or art prints?
Hi I recently got this printer and I have some problems with it could you help? If I make copies there is always a black line on the papers that isn't there in te original document. And sometimes I have problems with te margins, I thought this was a margin free printer or am I wrong? Sometimes not everything is printed. Can you help me? Thank you!
I did use it yesterday on glossy paper and the ink is not sticking to the photo paper I also did make the setting for glossy on printer and pc how you print this what should I do? I have the same printer @best printers
Does it do poster printing/tile printer where it prints one page over over many such 1 into 3x3 (9) All my Canon printers does it and old HP printer did it. This is my used option in printer so for me is essential it does it. Thanks you
Any thoughts, I bought this POS printer and they have replaced the heads multiple times. Anyt time i print a full size image i get print lines about every inch or so. VERY VERY visable. They ahve also replaced the product. I am on my third one, same issue. Any tips?
i have been printing for 20 + years as owner of several print shops. transfer heat prints are ok but not durable with wear and tear. will fade and crack with washing and drying after wear. heat transfer printing is not printing into the material it rest on top of the garments so it sticks. sublimation is better it meshes, blends into the t-shirt or garment material making it much more durable and longer lasting less chance of fading and cracking. silk screening is best last longer and will not fade or crack but with sublimation you can get more details on your design through finer lines and its an exact copy of your image. As a professional printer i advise you to do some research so you know what you really want and need.
I used the 2755 for HTV at present because my epson's motherboard died. The print quality is great, even though it doesn't last as long as screen printing and sublimation, I'm happy
@@LUcaKaiser-op6sz here around 30 US Dollars each, times by four colors so 120 US Dollars for XL size original cartridges. HP blocked non original cartridges as per February 2023 in the latest firmware upgrade. The owners of this printer either made modification to chipless CISS system for 150 dollars (roughly less than 0.05 cents per print after modification) or sell this printer right away..
The printer drivers on the HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 are deplorable. The hardware may be OK. But this does not offset the lack of functionality of all HP printer drivers. When I go to file print I don’t have many of those options you see on your computer screen in the video. For printing reports fit to page does not work. There is no option to print reports at less than 100% for example 85%. The PCL6 drivers are not backwards compatible. There are no postscript drivers. A GUI driver is not a poscript driver. Printing times new Roman true type font does not print correctly nor any of the other truetype fonts. This is in fact consistent across all of HP products now. Microsoft has acknowledged the PCL six drivers are not compatible backwards. Even though this is stated they are backwards compatible on HP‘s website. If you are looking for printer which is consistent with the originally developed true type fonts, then you need to look elsewhere besides HP products. In addition they’ve gone to a smart utility and you cannot even see what is downloading. Further if you are not connected to the Internet you can’t even download the driver to put it on a thumb drive to take it with you to your cabin in the woods where there is no Internet.
True. Try using PrintFab, it will allow multiple options and adjustments. I own this printer and I like it, but I do agree the printing drivers are not exactly flexible like other brands, this is a huge limitation on any of the Officejet family.

That is very strange, that sounds like a manufacturer malfunction. I would see if the printer is still under warranty.
