I’ve watched the cards for 40 years and this was the greatest sequence in Louisville basketball history. My grandmother Felicia was a HUGE Louisville fan. She had a room that was all red and left me her Louisville stuff when she died. On the night of this game, she had just found out that she had late stage cancer and was going to die a few months later. The one ray of positivity we had that night was that we had a chance to watch Louisville win their first title in 27 years. We were happy that she got to see the Cards win the big one before the Cancer took her to heaven. When she died, we buried her in a cardinal red dress. She was UL to the core. This team means a lot to my family and they gave us tremendous joy with their amazing effort. I’m very proud of their accomplishments.

That Montrez dunk is the most important dunk in UofL history. Even though Michigan went back on top at half, I knew they were going to be fine in the 2nd half when Chane went off and got EVERY rebound.

Remember watching this with my daughter....going NUTS lol, wow what a game. Hancock is cold-blooded...no team wins a title without a guy like that. There were ballers all over the court in this one...on both sides. Burke and Siva were freak athletes at that PG spot. Siva threw down some nasty dunks in his career...power dunks off 2 feet, and if you ever saw him around campus you would see, he was not even 6 foot. Hell of a viscious(and clean) block by Burke on that Siva layup...which was called a foul on Burke. A bad call I have to admit, but I remember looking at my daughter and saying "that was a clean block, but I'll take it...I think they got this" Just at that moment, and then the moment when Chane got those 4 offensive rebounds...it felt like fate had spoken and Mich was done.

I was the only UofL fan in my school in 1980 I was in the 4th grade at St.Pius X ( our bball team also won the championship that year I was starting point/ shooting guard) Darrell Griffith aka Dr.Dunkenstein and the Drs of Dunk wow .a three championships were so incredible.I correctly predicted UofL to win in 2013 as I did in 1980 .here's how I accidentally did it in1986 my dad was dropping me off at highschool the Mondaythe day the brackets come over for t we were excited because we finally beat Kieth Lee and Dana Kirk f on Memphis St..my dad says to me in a passing thought to himself out loud and my reply was obvious and here was his thought spoken out loud he said" man!, If we could just win the rest of our games then ...as he was trying to come up with a particular placement game like elite eight or final four but before he could say anything to what he said made look at only the obvious I replied if we could win the rest of the games then we will win the NCAA championship 800 number to the major surprises as he goes you're right we both started laughing because it was like seeing if you just have more points at the end of the game then we can win this thing LOL but that's how I predicted 86n and turned out to work out good for us but lol

So give me the background on the 1980 1986 championship this 2013 team was one of the most dominating teams I've ever seen roll through a tournament right up there with UNLV or any Duke team. This team just crushed everybody in their path it was awesome to watch it was awesome to watch Russell play so well in this to I thought he deserved co-mvp Russ Smith but what a fantastic job everybody on this team pulled together to do a good job it took all of them and they did it and they did Grey' when the funnest teams to watch. Like coach she schefsky from duke said hilarious the way the words she schefsky came out of my mouth on this text to text I knew it wouldn't spell coach K's name correctly so I'm not going to change and leave it like this but anyhow Coach K said when they put the boom on you wow they put the boom on you

@Starlin Castro - True. Plus, that stuff STARTED in 2011... At that time, Siva, Russ, Gorgui, Behanan were already in Louisville...they weren't "lured" in by the hoes. Harrell came in only because the Virginia Tech coach, where he was originally committed to, was fired. Then Hancock, we know he had no involvement with the hoes. These guys really got fucked over.
And maybe my opinion is wrong here, but some pussy isn't gonna help you win a national championship.

@@deving8388 why did it not count .They proved absolutely nothing! I know this much the NCAA are more crooked than any illegal recruit .What you fail to realize is that UofL made more revenue than any other university and that's why the NCAA clamitia jumped in to get an easy pay day! They can't erase the memory 9f UofL having the highest margin of victory crushing anyone stands g in their way especially the zebra stripes in this 0ne.it got to the point they couldn't ca anymore phantom fouls like the last play of the second half.No one was going to stop Russ Smith in 2013 he was a scoring machine ! He had a bad game in the championship still had 21 points. When Dukes head coach said man when they lower the boom on you they lower the BOOM! So this much is a fact my brotha with the motha who had a studder Devin Devin It does flu t because No one absolutely No one recognizes that ignorant ruling if anything fans looked at the NC AA with less credibility than ever before e an Michigan ignored it and accepted the loss with class. It was a great game but the best team in the tournament legitimately won the championship .Its hilarious I instantly laughed when I saw your comment about someone being a cry baby .I was like 8t must have destroyed you when UofL won that day you were way to quick to be it didn't count for it to impact you the way it did.No cry baby on the Cards side who did they criwn the champion if it was not UL ? Foul on Burke CLEAN BLOCK = 2 Points.
CLEAR goal tend not called early in the game = 2 points
Hancock leaning into Burke causing Burkes second foul- out for whole second half- another 2 points
Behanan over the back on trey burke causing caris to land out of bounds- michigan was in the bonus- 2 points and also gave louisville ball back with 50 seconds left up by 4 points.
8 POINT SWING. Louisville won by 6. Also, refs caused Burke to be taken out of first half because of foul trouble. Burke would have changed the outcome of the game if he was in longer he was the naismith PLAYER OF THE YEAR. BIASED LOUISVILLE REFS WITH ILLEGAL RECRUITED PLAYERS.
