For not being actual battle shonen, the fights in this series are really good. I like that for the first villain they didn't go for an easy setup of brawn vs. brain but straight to ideology.

You said if they actually did something like make gunpowder. Well, the animators actually did some of the experiments that are shown in the anime to understand and animate them better, just the simple ones like making gunpowder or another that is a small spoiler, is making glass.

Unique shonen fights have always been better for me. Jojo and dr. Stone are great examples
