- In this video, we take you on a tour of our 20ft diameter Pacific Yurt. We built our yurt off the grid in the north woods, and have been living in it now for a year!
This tour dives into all of the systems we've built to make our yurt living as comfortable and practical as possible. Everything built, we've done ourselves and with friends.
Thank you for watching!

Loving the channel. Thanks for the videos.
Lovely home...I adore yurts so I couldn't deny Special Agent Dale Cooper 🐈 a subscription lol...tfs...
Thanks so much! 😊
Love the progress you guys have made on the both the interior of the yurt and the outside. Wish you had done more video's of the progress. Would have been nice to have seen your build of the kitchen and the wood shed. Keep up the great work. Still inspiring.
So pleased to see how you are growing and thriving. Sending blessings to you three from Ely.
Thank you 🙏🏼
yurts have such a special feel! so happy you guys are able to live here long term!
Thank you so much!
Hey very informative things are getting very expensive these days. What do you like about living in the Yurt? How did this all come about ? And the preparations to do this? Is it very cost-effective?
Your place looks so amazing and comfy. Thank you for the tour.
Great video! I love the lay-out and the cat's name. Cat must be a real fan of pie.
We must be friends eh?!
woohoo. love you guys.
Beautiful!❤
Thank you!
Loved waking up to an update from you. Very cool to see how much you’ve adapted to improve the functionality and comfort. How cold is your average temperature throughout winter?
Thanks for the kind words! It gets very cold here, although this winter pretty mild. We regularly stay subzero, with periods dropping to -20 and -30f, with plenty of snow!
Awesome! Is there any concern with critters or bears digging through the canvas when your not around? I think like on my land in NE Minnesota I see quite a few critters.
Yes, totally concerned. During the summer we tried to keep food sealed and air tight, and our trash stored in a separate shed. Winter we’re not so worried. What we’re really looking forward to is getting a dog to keep guard
@sam_zach Thanks! I wasn't sure if I was missing something - I had built a shed last year and while I was still building it a bear pawed at the corner and door (trail cam pic + paw prints). I've been keeping the bit of food I have in a airtight pelican footlocker style box which seems to have kept bear, rodents, and pine martin away so far. Best wishes, -Nate
Where did you guys find such thick batting? That looks like incredible insulation for a yurt.
Hey Alan, we purchased it from a commercial upholstery company. It came two inches thick, 3.5 ft wide, and in 40ft length rolls. It changed how the yurt holds heats dramatically!
@@sam_zach Thanks!
