"Lithium" as in the Prozac anti-depressant drugs, NOT the batteries. This song is a prime example of a very uplifting sounding melody but very dark lyrics.

you have to understand that most of Kurt's favorite bands were Hardcore Punk or Experimental Noise Rock, destroying stuff is kind if built in to those scenes, instruments, walls, the crowd, and themselves, it was all fair game, to the point that Bikini Kill a Riot Grrrl act had a "women to the front" policy to avoid the women in attendance being hurt in a circle pit

“Where Did You Sleep Last Night” on Unplugged is a must watch. His woman had him real life mad and he lets it all come out on the last verse. All the grunge Unplugged sets are epic really. Just pick any Nirvana, Pearl Jam or Alice In Chains Unplugged song and you’re good. Pure artistic gold.

He actually dislocated his shoulder jumping into that drum set in that piece of video which is from the show they did at the Reading Festival in 1991. Nirvana were stage destructors at the end of their shows and they just did crazy and weird shit like smashing his head into monitors and stuff. If you want to watch a good video on a Nirvana end of set destruction, check this video out th-cam.com/video/bRJ2V2lUb5Q/w-d-xo.html - Just a warning though, it's essentially a bunch of fucking noise. lol. It's kind of a song but they did a version of it during the recording session for their record Nevermind. Cobain's guitar can be heard breaking in the recording at some specific point in the track. He was frustrated after having some bad takes in the studio and fed up with a bunch of other stuff and he just went ham and it ended up on the record because, well, that's Nirvana. It was added to the end of their record as "secret" song that played 6 plus minutes after the last song. The video I linked you to is them doing that song and all fucks stop being given at around 4:30 into the video. They were at the end of a long tour, they were tired, and dealing with finding out just how big they really were at the time. Smells Like Teen Spirit hit #1 while they were on a tour started before the record came out. After it did, the crowds kept getting bigger and bigger, and so did record sales. They went platinum and didn't even know about it for a few days. haha. People were lined up outside this show trying to find a way in because this was Nirvana in the midst on transforming from a regional band that toured around sometimes, to holy fuckin shit, there are people breaking in to see the show. Arena type shows would be the venue sizes on their next tour to promote Nevermind. Things flipped for them overnight basically. From nobodies to THE somebodies. They knocked Michael Jackson off the number one spot and that was big news back then. Nirvana were the IT band and this is them doing whatever the hell they wanted. Even though it's mostly noise, it's a great video that represents what they were going through and dealing with at that time.
