I am at 18:22, and just talking about mining on the moon gets me thinking of what happened in the future in The Time Machine from 2002, I distinctly recall the moon was being mined for resources and this causes it to change its orbit drastically around our Earth eventually causing it to crash into us. I don't know yet if this is ever mentioned later in the video so if it is brought up then my apologies :) I just thought it was an interesting connection

The nice thing about space is that there is only a maximum of 1 bar or 14.7 psi difference in pressure. Diving in the ocean increases pressure by 1 bar about every 10 meters or 33 feet. At least in water we don’t have to worry about radiation which is a huge problem in space.

At 13:16 you say that getting something from the moon to low Earth orbit is less resource intensive than sending it from Earth itself. By that same logic, does that mean that getting something from Earth to “low Sun orbit” would be less resource intensive than sending it from the Sun itself? I’ve heard it’s very difficult to get into orbits closer to the Sun, like Mercury because there’s little-to-no gravitational assists like we have when slingshotting towards the outer solar system. Assuming we could launch something from the surface of the Sun. The gravity of the Sun on its surface must be HUGE and nearly impossible to blast away from.

What I find fascinating is scanning high resolution photos of the moon right near the terminator line. The low sun angle amplifies the shadows and structures as well as giving crisp contrast and definition. Stop the video right at :07 , 1:08 , 2:40 and other similar spots and just study the detail. See what you discover.

does not ice sublimate to gas at low temperatures? If Ice exists and is exposed to the "air", would it not eventually disappear? Since my sheets "dry" on the close line at -40 deg overnight in Northern Canada, the ice was Likely depleted millions of years ago. I think you would still have to dig for it, even at the pole

As earths geocorona contains water and extends to the moon couldn't that be the moons source of water?
I always thought water was part of every planet's make up since formation, but that be my poor education showing.

Just a rock floating around in black. Suspended in that empty black nothingness, with no atmosphere- from the surface to space- nothing in between- nothing to protect anything on that rock… just the instant vacuum of space…
Our beautiful and glorious planet has protected us within such a perfect atmosphere - it’s truly amazing.
