I have seltos diesel manual 2019 model , driven it 80,000 km till date but trust me the engine still feels as if its first day of purchase. Such a smooth and refined engine it is with zero turbo lag that gives full 250 nm Torque right from the 1500 rpm

You said always Driver should be more conscious while driving, even though Vehicle is fitted with ADAS, it's only additional safety feature, that's most important point to remember while at steering.

Is there any future for diesel cars in India? Planning to buy a first car would you recommend diesel or petrol (AT). The majority of the running would be in the city with weekend drives around the city. Monthly run ~400-500KM
If you buy diesel over turbo petrol, cwhich come at almost same price, then you wil save about 3-4k per month with your running. Think and decide . Trust me even that makes a difference psychologically in day to day drive when u hve to visit the petrol pumps😅

How bad is the cabin noise from the engine? I wanted a petrol with Torque convertor, unfortunately they have the DCT which i wanted to avoid. Will test drive the Diesel, if not impressed will go for petrol IVT.

The New Seltos would be my first car. Mumbai city driving 70 % & 30 % Highways. What would be a better transmission option DCT Petrol vs TC Diesel with regards to longevity and maintenance. Looking for overall performance and VFM option in GTX+
What I have read & heard till now as negatives for both options as below,
DCT Cons - New engine and less reliable, overheating and poor city mileage.
AT TC Diesel Cons - DPF issue, high maintenance, poor resale.
Can you pls suggest how true & real will the above cons affect in new seltos and what would you recommend ?
Dont buy such a costly 1st car in mumbais traffic and plus parking a above 4 meters car is a headache.

if you get 21-22 km/ltr it means you will end up with DPF clogging really soon. then to burn the soot you need to REV the engine real bad and all your overall mileage drops down to 15-16 km/ltr. Simply invest in a petrol and stay away from all the unwanted headaches !
