When my wife was in a nursing home I bought bags for jewelry from ebay and gave it to the home to use as prizes for the residents when they played games. The residents loved them.

If you run into necklaces that are tangled get a couple of plain white paper towels lay them down on the table or whatever you are working , put your necklaces on the towels then get some body powder like you use on your baby and sprinkle the powder over the necklaces, you do not need a lot but that will help you get them untangled. Works every time.

Be careful letting your dog out. If you have eagles or even hawks they will go after small dogs and cats.Try to go out with your pet if you can. A few of my neighbors have lost a few of their pets out of their yard.

Alex I have to say how much I appreciate you show. I just beat stage 4 tonsil cancer and you were right there with me during treatments, 37 radiation and 6 rounds of brutal chemo. I thought graduating Marine Corp boot camp was as hard as anything in life, it wasn't even close. I was to listen to something positive to bring up and keep everything positive. I just started at your first post on a loop to day. I even like your CORNY jokes. Lol I was afraid you would lose your way when you sold your store. You have proved me wrong brother. The new house couldn't be a better deal at the right time to miss all the nonsense coming. I know one thing your tax man is going to love you this year. I just wanted you to know, I see your charity, your honor, your talent is wonderful to watch you grow. You have found some amazing cars. You should keep the ones that touch you. I have a 1969 AMC AMX THAT I JUST build it from the ground up. Best of luck keep doing what your doing I'm so glad you had them fix your truck how cool is that? Very cool. Semper Fi brother.respect to you Neal

I once bought over 200 lbs of jewelry from an older lady out in the country. It took weeks to sort through, but I’ve doubled my money on it and still have about 60% of it left. There were a lot of nice vintage pieces! Going through it was so fun! My husband and I would sit at our dining room table and go through 3-4 bags each night. I’d love to do it again!

The pink jewel with the skull and hat is a Mexican folk figure called "La Catrina" which is very popular and connected with the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead - All Soul's Day) - a big family ancestor worship day in Mexican culture and right after Halloween.

Back in 2020 I went to the auction of a jewelry hoarder a few counties over. Hoarder as in boxes to the ceiling in most rooms. It actually took 10 FULL AUCTIONS to empty the house, selling a big box or more at a time. It was WILD. I filled up the car several times over.

I love this type of unboxing. From what I have seen most of this is just inexpensive newer jewelry. At 15:17 that looks more like a 1950's costume jewelry set. Also the butterfly pin at 16:32 is nice. You did fine. That is because you have A LOT of jewelry. Most of this I wouldn't sell for more than 50 cents to $3.00 each but the fact that you have so much of it will make it profitable. That being said, I haven't seen everything you had in those boxes but I can make an educated guess. I've been collecting costume jewelry for over 30 years. It seems to me that this person had been buying at resale/garage sale/charity shops so that they can resell it. I think it's a good idea you are selling most of this in lots. People like mystery lots of jewelry.

12:20 heavy is good. That looks to be real silver tarnish on that ring but plate tarnishes too. The fact that it is heavy means it could be sterling or coin silver. Be sure to check the marks. Also check the stones, although even if real diamonds they are small. Still a sterling ring with enough small diamonds could have value.

Bins and boxes you say....DINGDINGDING. JACKPOT! The bone necklace Alexander thought "looks like bone"... because it is. (early 90s?) 11:31 Those lucite rings are hot every 10 years or so. I don't think that one's horribly old. The leather rose is almost certainly Canadian-made. 14:04 ID chain or dogtag chain, around here. 15:10 Czech brass and molded glass - 1920s probably. As Jean said, most isn't worth much on its own, but in those quantities you certainly won't lose on it.

When sorting jewelry, you need to start off with a loupe and a magnet. This lot seems to have had all the really good stuff sorted out already. I have been collecting this same stuff for years and now need to figure out how best to sell it ! Good luck to you with your auction sales !

If you have an Ebay account, you can sell it by the pound as "crafter's lots" if it's broken or "mixed lots of costume jewelery" if it's in good wearable condition but not the quality that will sell as individual pieces.

Hello, I just wanted to share, these jewelry auction lots are my weaknesses. I usually go to 2-3 live auctions a week and these things sell well. I had a piece of costume, thought it had jade beads on it, I actually contacted Christy's (well known auction house), and a wonderful lady told me no it wasn't jade. But that individual piece of costume was valued at $175. Seriously, true story. So don't short change yourself. Great video.

..........I can't believe the changes in Abigail (sp??) she's looking more and more like her mom every day. She's really growing up, Alex. I never noticed it much before.............but then I saw your son Jason after awhile and was amazed at how much HE'D grown as well, now much taller than his older brother Stephen. These growth spurts our kids go on are quite dramatic. :) The only sole in your household who looks pretty much the same is 'ol Chewy!! Steve

The silver truck would be great for you to use with your clearing. It would also be great for your son to drive.

I like to put the costume jewelry in jewelry boxes when I send my stuff to Kastners. Usually pays for the initial purchase and maybe a profit after I cherry pick it for the good stuff.
