@@macclonispoiler alert for the “marked to death” challenge as a secret, there is actually a button that marks you for death, which basically makes every enemy team on you lol
Not so fun fact: The 'trees' in the violence layer are people who commited suicide. They turned into trees and the slightest break of a branch causes excruciating agony. Edit: I don't recommend looking up a lore video since they'll likely spoil the secret levels. Just read the enemies' descriptions on the terminals for lore
Also the first level (7-1) is based off a horror novel called house of leaves, its about a house that grows into a giant labyrinth and consumes the family living in it. the Minotaur is a the monster from the book, and his name is crossed out because everytime the Minotaur is mentioned by name is House of Leaves its name is crossed out
the reason for the war going on in the violence layer is due to the fact that in dante's inferno, violence is seperated into three "rings", with the labyrinth on the outside of these three rings. 7-1 was the labyrinth, 7-2 is the first ring, for sinners who committed violence against their neighbor (hence the war), 7-3 is violence against oneself (suicide), and 7-4 is violence against god.
I should add that 7-4 represents violence against god *and* nature, with humans building machines so potent and pollutant that they couldn't see the sun anymore due to the smoke.
In the third ring is not only violence against God, but also against art and nature. Which considering that (probably) Hell consider the 1000-THR's as a 'Magnum Opus' and that they start the Long Night, its less about the Violence against God but more about the art and nature.
@orangutex468 specificly the third ring was for violence againt art, nature and god, art came from nature, and nature is the creation of God, and Earthmover violate the latter two, it decimate nature and its existence is an act against God

36:15 Though Hakita started Ultrakill by himself at first, a few more people have joined in on the project, like PITR who does some of the coding and Olivia, who does the 3D modelling of some enemies. Hakita made a few dev streams where he detailed how stuff is going on andd what was difficult to implement or how some things work. Now that you completed the game, you can p rank the entire game and unlock secret bosses! 1st one: at gluttony at the spinal stairs, there's one that doesn't connect to anything. If you go down there and enter the door, there will be a gate of how many levels you've p ranked. Once you've p ranked act 1, the gate will open and let the rest explain. 2nd one: do the same thing for act 2. P rank the entire thing, but this time, once you're up to the top, go to the right, you'll see a hole, slide in, and the same gate will appear. If all levels are p ranked. And p-1 complete (no p rank for p-1), the gate will now open and let it say the rest. (A little edit here. The levels are 3-1 and 6-2)

really fun fact when fighting guttertanks: their rockets are exactly the same as yours. i found this out when i was using the rocket launcher and freezing them, which in turn, froze their ones. a super easy way to counter them is by attaching a magnet to them then freezing the rockets. every single rocket thats shot will target the magnet no matter what direction theyve been shot at, making for a really quick kill. when fighting benjamin as well, use the frozen rockets and parry when u can. make sure ur always moving in the direction the lazers r going. if u do enough damage quick enough, ull find urself where the idols r pretty much instantly ! great for when u wanna p-rank

Some of the most notable people on his team are victoria, who does 3D modeling, pitr and hektech, who do programming, and imp, who does concept art. There are a lot more people who have worked on the game though, and you can find them all in the developer museum in the credits.
Imagine being one of the machines at the room they're all fighting each other and you see V1 walking through the door and everyone is like:who invited bro😭🙏
in 7-4 theres a whole fight going on between two of the earthmovers theres one in the distance. but as soon as you enter the level the earthmover youre on immediately focuses you because you're the bigger threat, as V1 was designed to take them down
Fun Fact: Every level on Violence is technically its own mini-layer. 7-1 is the entrance. (Based on a book called the House of Leaves) 7-2 is Violence against Others, hence why it’s war themed. Almost every enemy in that level is a machine because the level replicates what the final war was like. (In game lore event) 7-3 Is Violence against the Self, the trees in that level are all people who took their owns lives. 7-4 is Violence against Nature/God, the Earthmover is a giant machine that required so many resources that it blotted out the sun. Everywhere they went they made the land unrecognizable.
Fun fact: Each machines are built to kill the last machine that was built, the earthmovers also single handedly ended the war due to the destruction they caused, thus it's the last war machine ever made. however, there's one more war machine made by mankind, V1 V1 was made to kill 1000-THR "Earthmover" V1 didn't kill it because it wants blood, it did because of instinct Earthmover didn't fight V1 because of blood, it did because of fear
Earthmover could have smoked us pretty hard with their blasts destroying cities at once, thanks to our homie THR-(other number) earthmover for nailing THR-1000 in the face before he blasted us
big task but if u P-rank every level up to the first gabriel fight and then go to 3-1 you can find a secret doorway that leads to a hard bossfight. If u kill that boss, and P-rank every level up to the second gabriel fight, in 6-2 theres another secret doorway that leads to the hardest boss in the game
36:20 you are very wrong, he has a team of people. You can check them out in the credits museum! (Yes the credits is its own level). But as he puts it in his book in said museum “if it’s in the game, he had his finger in that pie”.
for the jumpstart nailgun(alternate) you can strap magnets on enemies to make it so it attacks them all, for example, strap 3 magnets on 3 enemies, shoot the electric railgun at one, and enjoy the show(you can also throw coins at the electricity to deal even more damage)
on 7-3 there's actually a way to aggro all the enemies onto you, there's a crystal in a case on top of the segment of the tunnel that gets bombed out, if you jump over the wall to activate it before it blows up, you get "marked for death"
You can't convince me 7-4 isn't a Metroid reference, international or not. You descend (or in this case ascend?) to a metal fortress filled with machines and deadly pits. The boss of the area is a brain in a glass cylinder that shoots beams and orbs at you, and the area it's in is heavily guarded by several stone columns that *must* be broken in order to progress before you're boiled alive. And on top of that there's an escape sequence at the end with just enough time to see the whole facility explode. This makes it one of the best levels in this game, in my opinion.
I loved seeing your reaction to layer 7, probably my favorite layer in the game. I can't reccomend enough for you to P-Rank Acts I & II (and layer 7 if you're feeling daring). You can really see the improvement in your gameplay though, you handled that final room in 7-2 like it was nothing!
Since you like revolver swapping I got some cool tech for ya. Shooting a coin with the Alt Marksman during its “sparkle” window will reset the hammer for all the Alt revolver variants. This way you can keep dishing out damage without having to pull back the hammer of your revolver. It’s a bit tricky to pull off but it’s fun. :)
7-4 is really cool and has a bunch of things going on in the background. Theres other earthmovers in the distance and theyre firing at each other and at the one your standing on. At the start youre about to get evaporated but the earthmover gets blasted in the face by another one of its kind. You can also see some of the huge blasts hitting the shield of the earthmover while youre in some areas on it
A useful tip i recomend you use, parrying Mannequins instakills them and you can freeze and unfreeze the Guttertank´s rockets with the blue rocket launcher. A good set up to easily kill them is to fire a magnet at them, freeze the rockets and instantly unfreeze so the rockets get atracted to the magnet leaving them at low health, or just use your own rockets. Hope this helps.
ALL machines need blood, which is why they fight you and why they sometimes fight them. The reason why they're mostly focused on you is because V1 has developed a reputation because of it's rampage through hell. Also, the Earthmover is fighting another one, which is why it failed to immediately kill V1.
I hope you do a video or two going back through the stuff you missed. There's a few secret levels, a hidden boss or two, and then the Prime Sanctums (P-rank every level in a given act then find the secret door) to do and I'd love to see how you react to some of that stuff.
Another awesome video like always! I know people are probably rushing you to try and p-rank levels at some point, but in my opinion there's no need to rush yourself to try and do that if you're not ready. PLUS, Hakita is actually working on remastering all of the Prelude & Act 1 *(appearance wise)*, so I feel like if you were to choose a time, a great option would be when the remaster comes out so that you won't have to look back a third time. But yeah definitely subbed now! Keep up the awesome work!
You completed the main levels! The game is far from over tho, if you want more content and challenge, P-Rank Act 1 and 2, there are secret doors in Gluttony and Heresy that lead to great challenges
I recommend you to use the whiplash (grapple) on enemies more as i can see you struggling with hitting enemies from far away like the virtues. And when hitting them far away, you're not getting much blood (healing)
YOO LETS GOOO, now all thats left is secrets, challenges, and ohh boy... the prime sanctums. i saw the community post about minos so im excited. but im especially excited for p-2, i wont spoil anything but... 7-4 will seem like a free win.
The way to make the saw gun good is to use the magnets to create saw traps, it is top teir dps and add clear in small areas. Also, u still got minos and sisyphus to beat g
You can get the alt shotgun in 7-2, its really OP. Deals lot of damage and heals you since you are dealing damage close range. Also the way it kills people on max charge hits the dopamine in the right spots.
You can't "revolver switch" with alt revolvers because the clutch neede to be reset after firing (it takes a second (gets reset when not used too (so switch to other weapons quickly like the shotgun or rocket launcher)))

Earthmover could have smoked us pretty hard with their blasts destroying cities at once, thanks to our homie THR-(other number) earthmover for nailing THR-1000 in the face before he blasted us
Glad im not the only one who read it as room instead of boom during the first playthrough (17:42)
3:43 as he was entering the other room, i cleared my throat as he entered
They dont need to get out
7:25 ayowhat
thats the face of a unstoppable force
big task but if u P-rank every level up to the first gabriel fight and then go to 3-1 you can find a secret doorway that leads to a hard bossfight.
If u kill that boss, and P-rank every level up to the second gabriel fight, in 6-2 theres another secret doorway that leads to the hardest boss in the game
36:20 you are very wrong, he has a team of people. You can check them out in the credits museum! (Yes the credits is its own level). But as he puts it in his book in said museum “if it’s in the game, he had his finger in that pie”.
for the jumpstart nailgun(alternate) you can strap magnets on enemies to make it so it attacks them all, for example, strap 3 magnets on 3 enemies, shoot the electric railgun at one, and enjoy the show(you can also throw coins at the electricity to deal even more damage)
on 7-3 there's actually a way to aggro all the enemies onto you, there's a crystal in a case on top of the segment of the tunnel that gets bombed out, if you jump over the wall to activate it before it blows up, you get "marked for death"
that was the best mannequin reaction I've seen so far lmao
A tip for the saw launcher is to use the magnets on the ground so the saws orbit around it, they dont do much damage by themselves
This makes it one of the best levels in this game, in my opinion.
the earthmover was fighting another one in the distance. also the red stuff around its legs are the trees from 1-3 holding it in place.
P rank the first 2 acts (you can unlock new ''fun'' bosses)
I loved seeing your reaction to layer 7, probably my favorite layer in the game. I can't reccomend enough for you to P-Rank Acts I & II (and layer 7 if you're feeling daring).
You can really see the improvement in your gameplay though, you handled that final room in 7-2 like it was nothing!
36:18 There's a number of other devs working on the game, check out the credits to see them (relatively spoiler free)
32:27
*foreshadowing*
Aaayy thanks man 🫡
@@maccloni No problem dude.
fun fact! V1 is made to counter the earth mover...
another fun fact! In the distance in 7-1, there are other earth movers!
there's an alley next to the defense system with the coolest book in the game
Now you gotta P rank the entirety of act 1 and 2, they unlock some secret levels that are arguably the best levels in tue game
Oh yea Minos had a talk with me 😂
True! Violence is peak ULTRAKILL. It’s secret level time! Have fun if you decide to do so!
YOOO LMAO, your reaction to the mannequins was fucking great bro 💀
21:36 they listened
Im using my one comment to give respect to this shot right here at 12:19, peak ricochet.
Its been a blast to watch you play up through violence, you should try and go for the prime sanctums when you can
3:48 HE DIDN'T KNOW
"War. Without a reason.
ALL machines need blood, which is why they fight you and why they sometimes fight them. The reason why they're mostly focused on you is because V1 has developed a reputation because of it's rampage through hell.
Also, the Earthmover is fighting another one, which is why it failed to immediately kill V1.
Now P-rank act 1 and 2 :D
The lore for Ultrakill is messed up, watch videos on it at your own risk :/
here's a tip: if the minotaur charges at you? you can actually parry his charge attack which is extremely rewarding.
I hope you do a video or two going back through the stuff you missed. There's a few secret levels, a hidden boss or two, and then the Prime Sanctums (P-rank every level in a given act then find the secret door) to do and I'd love to see how you react to some of that stuff.
The whiplash sections of 7-2 will unlock a alternate weapon if you do them fast enough
i think youre the only guy ive seen that didnt immediately shit himself after seeing the earthmover
15:45 CLEAN ASF
YESSS
7-4 is named after the Godspeed You! Black Emperor record Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven, my favorite album of all time
Before you watch any lore video you should beat the secret levels and the prime sanctums. Since those levels have some of the MOST lore in them.
I love you and the TH-camr Tusk
now time for secret levels
You completed the main levels! The game is far from over tho, if you want more content and challenge, P-Rank Act 1 and 2, there are secret doors in Gluttony and Heresy that lead to great challenges
You should unlock the secret levels for P ranking act 1 and 2 because they are really good
fun fact since i dont see anyone mentioning it: V1 Was actually built to take down the Earthmovers
Hakita is revisiting the entire limbo layer and 0-4, when the update drops you should most definitely check them out.
I recommend you to use the whiplash (grapple) on enemies more as i can see you struggling with hitting enemies from far away like the virtues.
And when hitting them far away, you're not getting much blood (healing)
27:34 Free For All, no holds barred (the challenge goes insane though)
YOO LETS GOOO, now all thats left is secrets, challenges, and ohh boy...
the prime sanctums. i saw the community post about minos so im excited. but im especially excited for p-2, i wont spoil anything but... 7-4 will seem like a free win.
The way to make the saw gun good is to use the magnets to create saw traps, it is top teir dps and add clear in small areas. Also, u still got minos and sisyphus to beat g
The gimmick of the Alt Revolver is that it does more damage for a slower firing speed. Your combo is not working because the cooldown too long.
FINALLY you found BENJAMIN!!! ( also you should have learned by now, expect the unexpected but even then you won’t be able to see what’s coming)
