I got a weird one for you. Followed the entire guide to the letter but when I went back to the game mode. The collections tab has nothing in it and I have no idea why or how to fix it. It’s like the install forgot to make the collections tab
hmmmm, the only thing I can think of is that there migh have been an issue with the permissions at the beginning of the video, when you need to set a sudo password, is that step done correctly?

I have another question please help. When I foiled this video the other day it added all my retro stratum games just fine , BUT now . Since then I’ve downloaded Duckstation via Emudeck to add my 5th gen console games . And now when I went to “remove from steam” first for a clean transfer , then save to steam , when I went into library back in gaming mode , no collections are there at all now . Don’t know what happened. Do I need to do retro consoles separately ? Or not select alll the parce I did with ES/Pegasus/&’ReteoArch. Could I be doing to much at once? Any help is appreciated
Great guide! You're the only video I can find with the updated Steam ROM Updater UI. No idea why they had to make things so complicated instead of just passing everything thru Emulation Station, but I guess it looks a little nicer in the Steam Library. Thanks again!
What memory cards do you go for, for your steam deck? My friend told me about EmuDeck and to wait till I get a memory card for it. I bought one recently just for this but it’s not detecting the memory card??
I got Samsung Evo and am having the same issue - error detecting SD card. Also tried forwarding to the SD Card via the custom directory and it still errors out.
Found the issue: the SD Card should not have any spaces “ “ in the Name. I changed my SD Card name to something within only one word, no spaces, and it worked
any idea as to why my game artwork doesnt show up on pegasus? the emulators and games are where they should be, everything is good on that end. but the artwork doesnt show up on the interface at all, its just the game titles in text.

I’m downloading roms individually and when I come to click add to steam… as I by default adding all the roms again to steam. If I click exclude some titles and then only select the one I’ve just installed and want to parse.. I go onto my steam library and then it’s like it deletes some of my games.. So do I need to continue pressing add to steam for every rom I download each time?
@@willy4177 ah ok so if it’s already in the steam library it won’t duplicate it? There’s not a way to individually select what I can see. You can filter by emulator, for example PS2 - then all your PS2 games show, let’s say in this case I just downloaded ‘Smackdown vs Raw PS2’ you have to click ‘add to steam’ but all of your PS2 game roms. I guess what I want to make sure is that this isn’t duplicating within steam each time.. concerned about storage as it’s like gold dust!! It doesn’t seem like it is duplicating or anything, just wanna make sure I’m doing the right thing
So you left out several important steps, such as where to copy the bios files and how to set them up properly in Steam OS (especially when they don't typically work straight away). But I get it. Fear of Nintendo is a strong thing to have when making content on the internet.

@@bulletpretzels1198 for most of emulators just google for example "Snes roms" and you will find all the games in zip format. It will be the same for mega drive, n64, ps1and any other console. Copy those files to the corresponding folder (roms) where you installed EmuDeck. Each emulator has it own folder inside EmuDeck Instalation. I recommend setup the FTP in Steam Deck so it is easier to copy games from Windows. Or you can download the games directly in Steam Deck in the Desktop Mode using Firefox.

After you acquire all your roms and you run the steam rom manager, they will just show up under the non steam, you don't "run" RetroArch, it's simply a backend that understands and plays games :)
When downloading emudeck and its on the final download screen with sonic. It says ‘Dolphin widescreen Off’ but it wont ever move on. Does that mean it’s completed the download or is something wrong?
My setup is telling me it can't detect my SD card but my SD works fine. I installed a game on it the other day. Can someone get back to me on a fix ASAP? Much appreciated!

It takes a while, I just fast forwarded, dont skip anything and just let it run, sometimes it can take more time, regarding the roms, I'm afraid I cant say anything due to TH-cam policies, but google is your friend :)
Is anyone willing to get on a video call and walk me through getting this setup? I've watched so many videos and gone through the wiki. It's not easy and really annoyed of all these videos saying how easy it is. Lol
I wouldn't install this garbage its impossible to get off to even try a fresh install the application won't open i followed the tutorials to the letter and still end up with a mess so i don't recommend this app to people not until they fix it
I've had it since the deck launched, worked fine for me and after a few quick configuration settings it works. I haven't messed with the main software in a while besides downloading updates so I can't help people setup but this video seams like a great way to use it. I clicked to see if there was anything I was missing lol
@collincreeden2862 yeah it works for most but I've seen a lot of people having problems. After messing around I got it to work somewhat not sure if it's how it's intended to work.

I had to install Emulation Station from the Emu Deck menus. Now it works.

Every time you add a new game you need to select everything that you want, if it's deselected it will be deleted :)

It's seems like an issue with sudo, make sure there is no sudo password set, and if there is try to remove that

you should be able to switch over to the konsole tab and select ‘okay’ on a dialogue! should resume the installation after

It might be formatted on the wrong file type, it must be on ext4
Make sure there are no spaces in the name of your SD Card
This is beyond confusing I got the game to launch but the aspect ratio is off and my inputs are not working
probably something went wrong in the initial config, I recommend uninstalling everything, even the temp files, and trying again 😄
