I like the sound of this particular JB Yamaha signature 6. To my ears it contains tonal elements of his legendary Ken Smith 6 and his earlier Yamaha 6's, but at the same time has an acoustic woodiness and sweetness. It also sounds very even from the lowest to highest notes with few dead or hot spots. Respect...
Amazing.I just learned that John plays with a high action.Mike Pope does as well.So did Jaco.I for one will be raising the action on my Bass. All three of those cats really dig in when they play/Played.There would be all kinds of string noise if they didn't use High action. I have learned a big lesson today from my Bass Heros.Raise it up cats.
Husko Bar have you heard this bass live? The tone is monstrous and BALLSY then again after TH-cam compression and if the sounds guys don’t know how to EQ jazz played it’ll sound like garbage......
The greatest, most iconic bassist ever!
well, one of many i guess
His face and motions are as fun to watch as his bass playing is to hear.
One of the best to ever play..cant get enough of his playing.
John is my favorite 6 string player
I'm not a jazz (this type of jazz anyway) person, but this guy is an absolute monster. Wow!
He's A Killer
And what type of jazz is this?
@@mikehawk9461 Fusion? A lot of this kind of stuff sounds like instrument abuse to me.
Un mostró con todo y pantano, el maestro patituci

Makus Dhy yeah! Like you won’t never be able to do, right?
@@sliverhandsonbasses Actually i did that when i was 14 years old....then i started to play with MUSICIANS.
@@photogramistic christ dude get a life.

What kind of bass is that? I thought he played that big Yamaha.
That's a Yamaha as well - He still plays his signature series bass as well
Yamaha made that toy just for him.
Not trying to showoff technique or talent, but trying to play something memorable, interesting, and WORTHY of using to create a GOOD song.
boring
What a HORRIBLE "bass" tone. He should just play acoustic f'n guitar.

@@ewfmatthew It sounds like acoustic guitar. No thickness whatsoever. The epitome of the 90s smiley face eq. Just unGodly horrible.
Ahahahahahahah!!!!
Who the heck are you to judge him? 😂 You’re nothing more than a person commenting negatively for no reason.
Hey pal you know something ??
John doesn't give a fuxk about you and what you say !and very well he does NOT :-)
