I once read the description of this cover as "Tori took out the rage from 'Smells like Teen Spirits ', and left the pain", and I feel that's the best description for this song.
Is a good interpretation, but I never felt much rage from Kurt, much frustration and cry for help instead. And from Tori I feel poetry and expression(I think from her own interpretation of the lyrics and the conection and understanding that comes from experiencing a felt musical piece like this. drawn from own experiences of course. I can´t list the number of amazing compositions like this that generated different emotional states on the same chord or verse deppending on my own emotinal state, and every time understanding a little bit more about the artist!.....
@@MrRoundthetwist It's really not though, she sings her own songs pretty much the same way, "winter" for example sounds very much like this. I get why you might feel that it's too much but I think it's more accurate o say that maybe Tori Amos is not for you 🙂
A lot of metalheads in the early 90s (myself included) were crazy about her music, esp the first album. It was somehow heavy without being heavy, so it always seemed quite natural when she covered Nirvana and Slayer, etc.
I have seen this live, just five days after Kurt shot himself and everybody was still in shock about that, me included. When the people realized what she sang, they silently came down from their seats and gathered before the stage. Many cried. She just sang his song in a way that let everybody understand his pains. And we shared that pain and sorrow about his death with her. I will never forget that. You could do nothing but love her at that moment. She showed so much respect and sympathy doing that.
She manipulates the piano as if it's the second vocal in a duet which is just brilliant. Amazing performer, I wish we saw more reactions to her music. Especially the live performances
Perfect description: She is singing with the Piano, as a duet, like a second vocalist... You unlocked her secret ! She really puts Life into the piano as another singer, not just an 'instrument'. She's also singing very intentionally seductive, melting the hearts of her enchanted audience... Crushing it !
What I love about Tori Amos is even though she is a classically trained musician and a total professional, she always chooses to sing with feeling instead of trying to be "perfect". Her "imperfection" is what makes her genius and better than perfect.
You have to remember Tori Amos was like kinda the muse of late 80s early 90s pop grunge scene. She was everyone’s muse. We all felt her. It’s why she was a good friend to so many pivotal artists of the time. She’s literally a muse. Cobain. Maynard. They all super loved and respected her. Ask any 90s successful musician. We all loved Tori Amos. She’s a fever dream of amazing talent. 😊
I love how she is playing a Steinway grand piano and just making it "whisper" like the delicate sound of thunder rolling over a mountain. The most magnificent music instrument ever built, and she is keeping to whisper. What a touch. What a soul!
Let me tell you, Tori has gotten me through life. I never imagined you’d do one of her songs. Would adore you even more if you went down a rabbit hole with her songs. More people need to know her.
I totally agree with you. I'd be dead without Tori. My aunt bought me concert tickets to see Tori for my 18th birthday. She told me bought them because I made it to 18. I just recently saw Tori in concert again after 20 years. It was just as amazing
She's been the shelter of all my main transformings in my early years and my blueprint for the development of my inner artist. She gives me the strength and the courage to face my shadows and to find my own voice and leader inside. It costs her so much, to reflect herself so open in front of public by making music and I hope, that she now is healthy inside, instead, that I'm leaving, because I don't compare with her new sounds. Love you Tori... ❤❤❤❤... and thank you!!!
Even as a long time metal fan I have a special place in my heart for Tori Amos. She is just such a talented musician and one of the most beautiful humans alive.
Yeah, I’m a metal fan too. But at the same time I was listening to all that, I also loved listening to Tori Amos, Kate Bush and PJ Harvey too. The latter started out as pretty metal too, but mellowed with the years. They all share a special place for me.
Big metal fan too, but I liked all types of music and did a lot of spreading out in the 90's. I remember getting into Tori cause one of my friends GF (now wife) was into her and she was playing it one late night after we had been partting and it just moved me hearing her voice that I asked her to play more. Next thing you know we where going to her concert together. We had nothing else in common other than her boyfriend and I grew up in church together (he was actually younger than me). We hardly talk now a days but every once in a while she will ask if I still have my signed Tori poster and I say yep and it's not for sell...lol
She really demonstrated how hauntingly beautiful Kurt's melody is in the song - can't forget where that vocal melody came from. I think she recognized it quite early and did this cover. Stripping down this song was pure genius 👌 Another interesting thing she did was for the first time we could hear the lyrics clearly for the first time.
Rick Beato did a good in-depth study of Smells Like Teen Spirit, and he highlighted the fact that while the song seems simple enough, actually it quite a sophisticated song. Most of it Beato admitted Kurt Cobain didn’t do on purpose, but naturally.
@@gregjetnikoff7124 Now I second that! No Grammy, no moonmen and she should be in the r&r hall of fame. She has been playing for an audience since 13. Truly my most favorite artist ever.
Sadly, Tori is criminally underappreciated to this day. It's a bit of a head-scratcher. Maybe she's too brilliant for her own good. Hard to categorize or cubby hole.
By far one of my favorite covers of all time. She truly transforms this misfit anthem into a hauntingly beautiful siren serenade. Love both versions deeply 💜🖤
Yep, and she manages to slow it down and make it sound eerie. I am a big metal head and my wife had this cover/ tribute album. She also does a great Eminem cover of ‘97 Bonnie and Clyde.
We need you to react to more Tori Amos, I remember being blown away by her when I first heard her in the Early 90s, She is the complete performer and even covers are very definately Tori Amos, I remember feeling sorry for her Harpsicord with the way she played in such an aggresive way.
I've been thinking about dropping a comment asking for a Tori Amos song. Very nice synchronicity 🙏 While this cover isn't my first choice, it's still Tori and I've been listening to the Little Earthquakes album A LOT lately 💓 Thank you in advance for this Tori treat 🤗
I myself wouldn‘t classify that as synchronicity, if I can say this most humbly. Do you personally think that somewhere there needs to be a distinction between synchronicity and „coincidence“ or in this case „perception of something in reality that was only a thought yesterday“, or would you say these things are always synchronicities?
Tori Amos was extremely popular, because she was the true alternative, in an era where "alternative" was thrown around a lot. She was a singer/songwriter, and flowed from classical to current pop, to harsh, almost metallic sounds, to techno. But she was really different from everyone else. Her use of distortion was funny because it was both distorted and clean at the same time. Her voice and style is so unique that it is instantly recognizable.
As there is a quite a parallel: I recommend checking out Norah Jones version of "Black Hole Sun", which was originally from Soundgarden with Chris Cornell. Both "Smells like Teen Spirit" and "Black Hole Sun" originally had a completely different energy, and both Norah Jones and Tori Amos interpreted the song in their own way and made it their own, rather than just playing a simple cover - and both are amazing singers and piano players :)
It's worth pointing out that Norah Jones' cover was done as the first artist to play Detroit's Fox Theatre five days after Cornell died, which is why it sounds like a dirge and why you could hear a pin drop when she sings "no one sings likes you anymore." The fact that Jones was both aware and approached the song with such artistry and respect means a lot for those of us who grew up with Soundgarden.
@@BanyanTree1 It was perfect. I watched that live video not long after it was recorded and released. Brilliant and cathartic tribute to one of the most beautiful souls of the last century
There is a great live version of Tori Amos with guest vocalist Maynard James Keenan singing the song "Muhammad My Friend" that you may be interested in checking out at some point.
Her version of Thank You is also awesome. At this point in her career, I dont think anyone had more presence or confidence on stage than Tori. She was amazing.
This cover is fantastic. The first time I heard it I straight up cried, and I don't even LIKE Tori's stuff! Your face and expressions in watching these videos is my favorite part. It's so nice to see classically trained musicians experience this stuff for the first time. This was one of my favorite games in college. I love everything about this. TY for making these.
This cover gave me goosebumps on my soul when I first heard it three decades ago. Those bumps never left me. The original version (which I love) by Nirvana, has been reduced to a framework that was just waiting to be covered by Amos. To call this a cover doesn't do it justice; this is the rebirth of a song.
I am so, so happy you reacted to this performance! Honestly, Nirvana’s version is excellent and of course full of that angst, rebellion, and darkness. But Tori’s version is delicate, emotional, and sad. It often makes me cry. She makes you realise that it’s actually a beautiful song, melodically.
Thank you for finally covering a little Tori! Ever since the release of "Little Earthquakes" to "BFP" I've always felt she was one of the best at conveying situational emotion through her playing and vocals. From innocence to innocence lost to scorn and vengeance, Tori was amazing. She's always been one of those artists people have always been in disbelief that I enjoy. More!
Mesmerizing is the perfect word for Tori. I saw her live in a theater and it was life changing and will be a show I will never forget. When she stares at the audience, you feel like she’s staring right at you and it’s wonderful.
Agree my favorite singer by far so glad she finally did one for Tori She's just incredible In so many styles cover original story and short songs True genius underrated in the us but still much respect
I actually went to see Tori Amos in concert. It was my very first concert experience and it was amazing love her voice, hearing her live is so surreal, and gorgeous
Tori is one of the all-time greatest, and my personal favourite. I consider it one of the great privileges of my life to be alive at the same time she's working. What a shatteringly beautiful and intense talent. A giant for the ages-not even exaggerating. She deserves to be MUCH more well-known and celebrated.
She's amazing at giving out emotion. It shows she exactly knew what she's doing. They say that the easiest way to make a cover is to slow the original melody down, but it wasn't the point here. Her performance was haunting and her voice was truly eerie.
Thank you so much for covering Tori. She is, of course, well known for being a piano prodigy, and with good reason, but I particularly gravitate to the way she uses her voice is so many creative ways. Her using her breath almost as an extra instrument, her deliberate dynamics, her unique phrasing, and so many more choices she makes in her singing just draw me in. Add to that her physicality with the piano (or pianos; well worth looking up her playing two pianos at once), how she performs with her entire body both in terms of singing and playing but also embodying her characters, and you have one exceptionally mesmerizing artist.
I'm a huge old school metalhead always browsing for new Jinjer reactions. I *adore* Tori Amos, so I was very glad to happen across this reaction. Thank you.
She’s so amazing! I would love you to check out a live performance of Precious Things, so many different ways she can use her voice over the course of one song.
Thumbs up for Tori. Thanks for reacting to her....wish more people did. She's probably my favorite female singer from the 90's and this brings back a lot of memories. Also, I'm happy that you touched on her abilities as a pianist as I feel this has a lot to do with what makes Tori Tori. Lot's of musicians can play instruments extremely well, but with Tori it seems to be a part of her.
Thanks for this. Have always loved Tori. Winter.. she has a wonderful live version of that song that I am sure you will love ( and likely are familiar with. ) Cooling and Cloud on my Tongue are also great songs she has live versions of.
Tori is one of a kind. She feels and expresses music so uniquely, on top of just phenomenal duel talents. Her cover of radioheads Creep is also spectacular, I was fortunate enough to experience that one live.
I was fortunate to see her early on, Under the Pink tour, and I was in the 2nd row! There's an energy to what she does beyond the voice and music, which is magnificent. You could hear a pin drop when she sang, she can hush the crowd with a sweep of her hand. She is such an artist and the audience gives her their full attention. My desert island album is Little Earthquakes, it's all still fresh and new. Wherever I am in life, as I age, I get different meaning.
I saw her at a theater in the 90s and have been such a fan ever since. This is such a beautiful haunting cover of another band that had a huge influence on teenage me. It's somehow soft and powerful
She's amazing. Had an ex-girlfriend back in college that took me to a Tori Amos show. Her performance of a song called 'Precious Things' absolutely blew me away. There are a couple of videos of her playing that song live ( sans band) that you should check out some time. She hits one high note in particular that was breathtaking
The drums in precious things chorus are just absolutely massive. I do love her piano only renditions, but i always miss those absolutely heavy af drums
Precious Things is possibly my favorite Tori song (I can never narrow it down to just one song), and I would love to see Elizabeth analyzing it, but that song absolutely requires drums, for me always, but definitely on first hearing. You just don't get the same effect without it.
Her album "Strange little girl" is an amazing collection of covers of some very dark songs. The cover of Slayer's "Raining Blood" is unusual, and the cover of Eminem's "97 Bonnie and Clyde" scares the hell out of me.
She sings the song from the perspective of the dead mother. The next song, "Strange Little Girl," is sung from the perspective of the daughter in "Bonnie and Clyde"
She sees music as bursts of light since age 2 when she could play anything she heard on piano. Her ability to control every sound brought tears to my eyes which happens about every six months. I will have to listen to more of her music.
Tori Amos skillfully, playfully blends a clarity and prettiness of voice with unexpected sounds and challenging raw intensity. To me, it feels siren-like, enchanting and overwhelming. It communicates directly with your limbic system, bypassing rationality and reaching into your soul. I think that Kate Bush does it too. The absurdities and surprises are utterly disarming, but the emotions are forceful and sincere. For me, PJ Harvey is another artist who does that so well. I would love to see Elizabeth's analysis of some of her work. Notably, PJ Harvey provides a direct bridge to Grunge with the album Rid Of Me, produced by Steve Albini at the time he was also working on Nirvana's In Utero. Rid Of Me is dark, humorous, vulnerable, aggressive, abrasive and beautiful. Some of her following work was much more accessible, mainstream pop rock, like the album Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea. She then unleashed her full range in avant-garde releases like Let England Shake, a funny, wonderful and terrifying portrait of a nation shaped through a history of conflict, guilt and grief. That evolution of her sound and skills is really interesting.
Tori Amos is one of my faves! Reminds me a little of Kate Bush. I absolutely loved ‘Winter’ when my bf played it to me the year it came out. Yay 😀 I’m excited for this one!!!
@The Lord of Entropy understandable, as Kate’s main body of work was during the late 70s and through the 80s. She only released one album during the early 90s and then vanished for years!
I think I forgot how much I loved her voice. I appreciate you breaking this one down and reminding me of an artist that I used to listen to all of the time. She really is impressive.
This cover, and her cover of Led Zeppelin's "Thank You" are to me, two of the best covers ever. Period. The expression she convays with her voice and piano playing is breathtaking. I try to do a little bit of that with my guitar playing, and I have some success, but really, she is an inspiration to any musician. I thank the gods that I got to meet her on her first solo tour, wonderful person, too!
@@DavidDatura, I totally agree. Watching Tori perform live is not a "concert". It's almost like a musical. She draws the audience in and her talent of using her breath along with very soft spoken words against the intense much stronger, louder, sections of her songs its like a great story or movie. It leaves you hanging on her every word, leaning forward, as she garners your utmost attention, not wanting to miss a single word. She's just incredible. What a talent, and to think she got kicked out of music school, Juliard I believe. Unbelievable.
Also on the same CD is her rendition of Led Zeppelin’s Thank You and Depeche Mode’s Enjoy the Silence. “Winter” will always be one of my favorites from her.
That's not quite correct. Thank You is on her Crucify EP from 1992, along with Nirvana & Stones covers. The DM cover is on her Strange Little Girls cd from 2001.
What a powerful performance. Under - rated because she's performing sitting sideways most of the time ! She fixes her gaze on the audience, melting hearts, and still playing, not looking at the keys. The Piano is so soft and so perfectly in tune with her singing. Great Choice of music ! :-)
Tori Amos is one of those artists that don't get a lot of airtime on broadcast media, but still manages to sing (and play) goosebumps to an (un)suspecting audience. She's not playlist material, but gloomy winter evenings with tea, candles and a bathtub are destined to be enjoyed alongside her voice (unless you go with Debussy, of course). Unsurprisingly, 'Winter' is my personal fav from her.
I know it's late but, more Tori please. My favourite female artist... well, my favourite solo artist. Also one of the (very) few artists that can make me cry.
I would be interested in seeing an analysis of “Everything in its right place” or “Optimistic” from Radiohead (Album Kid A) the falsetto is so immaculate and blends with the music so frivolously, that you must listen in stereo. It’s a must listen, talk about haunting!
I saw her years ago during the "Plugged" tour in Vancouver. She simply controls the room. Once she begins, you are under her control, but in a very beautiful way. It is difficult to describe, but it is magical. I also saw her in an interview years ago. She was looking at the male interviewer as if she could see his soul. At one point, he stopped in the middle of a sentence and literally apologized for losing the narrative because of the way she was looking at him.
Been an admirer of Tori nearly from when she started, "Crucify" did the trick and I bought "Little Earthquakes" right away. Got me pretty much everything, even her first album "Y Kant Tori Read". I like her variance, from a capella (Me And A Gun), over smooth singing to pretty fast and weird stuff, and the way she can put so much dynamic in one song, even when it´s just her and the Bösendorfer.
That entire album, Little Earthquakes, is a masterpiece. I agree that Winter is one of the best songs on that perfect album, and one of her best songs, period.
She is phenomenal and she also has the most haunting cover of Raining Blood by Slayer that was ever heard. The song in her form is almost unrecognizable as she made it her own in her Tori way!
Such an extreme talent... reinterpretation of extremely well-known material is incredibly difficult. A tremendous instrumentalist and vocalist. Real talent.
In an old, mid-‘90s issue of ‘SPIN’ Tori spoke about once playing some kind of three day German drinking festival. She went onstage on day two and said the audience was basically already wasted. And that a lot of guys started heckling and insulting her as she took the stage. So to spite them, she said she played the longest ever cover of this song, for nearly half an hour. To show them they couldn’t stop her from performing her set.
When this came out on the Crucify CD single, I was just blown away. Tori Amos taught me to appreciate Kurt Cobain as a lyricist. This is a magnificent track, as is her cover of the Rolling Stones' "Angie."
Some Regina Spektor would be a fantastic follow-on to this! Regina is ridiculously playful with her vocal technique in the best way (Poor Little Rich Boy is a good example of this, but Samson, Braille and Back of a Truck are excellent songs too)

The fact that Jones was both aware and approached the song with such artistry and respect means a lot for those of us who grew up with Soundgarden.
@@BanyanTree1 It was perfect. I watched that live video not long after it was recorded and released. Brilliant and cathartic tribute to one of the most beautiful souls of the last century
Also check out Paul Anka's version of Black Hole Sun. That guy has such smooth swing jazz chops and it gives the song such a different feel
I can't tell you how many times I've played that video. And it destroys me every time.
Came down to the comments explicitly to recommend it.
I second that recommendation!
There is a great live version of Tori Amos with guest vocalist Maynard James Keenan singing the song "Muhammad My Friend" that you may be interested in checking out at some point.
Yes! Great song!
Tori is the best pop pianist there is. She plays it so differently than anyone else and takes it further than just being a chord machine.
Aaah, she chews on that song in the most delicious way. I hope you’ll do more Tori. She is so amazing!
Yes. This.
This must be one of the most brilliant covers ever made. Tori really knows how to make songs her own.
You can layer Chopin’s Funeral March over it.
She's one of a few artists that I consider better live than in a studio edit.
More!
I love how you notice (and geek out about) everything Tori does with her voice in this song-just like me. Please do more Tori Amos!
Mesmerizing is the perfect word for Tori. I saw her live in a theater and it was life changing and will be a show I will never forget. When she stares at the audience, you feel like she’s staring right at you and it’s wonderful.
Tori is absolutely incredible. Her musicality is top notch. Her voice is absolutely stunning. All of her dynamics in this is chilling in a good way!!
Agree my favorite singer by far so glad she finally did one for Tori
She's just incredible
In so many styles cover original story and short songs
True genius underrated in the us but still much respect
I actually went to see Tori Amos in concert. It was my very first concert experience and it was amazing love her voice, hearing her live is so surreal, and gorgeous
I've never heard of her but wow! I will now! What an amazing talent-just captivating!
One of my fav vocalists/musicians of all time! Thanks for this! I heard Cornflake Girl in HS, and fell in love with her immediately.
Please Please Please react to “Winter” - Montreax 92 by Tori Amos
You will not be disappointed! ❤
Mic drop
She is music.
Tori Amos is a musical genius! Her stripped-down, melancholic version of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is magical! ❤
She did tons of covers actually, my favorite is "Losing my religion"
Thanks for this. Have always loved Tori. Winter.. she has a wonderful live version of that song that I am sure you will love ( and likely are familiar with. ) Cooling and Cloud on my Tongue are also great songs she has live versions of.
Winter live at Montreux I consider to be a perfect performance. You are right, it’s amazing!
Tori is one of a kind. She feels and expresses music so uniquely, on top of just phenomenal duel talents. Her cover of radioheads Creep is also spectacular, I was fortunate enough to experience that one live.
An extraordinary arrangement. Her talent goes way beyond singing. There's excellent use of the very simple idea of leaving herself somewhere to go.
She is brilliant. Mesmerizing. My favorite female artist. Thank you for this one!
She's not completely human...She's a Goddess!!!❤
I've always been a Tori fan :) I love the way she plays with the audience, not forgetting about them while performing.
I saw her at a theater in the 90s and have been such a fan ever since. This is such a beautiful haunting cover of another band that had a huge influence on teenage me. It's somehow soft and powerful
I have absolutely loved this rendition since I first heard it.
I have always loved her, with that said… that cover was a masterpiece! One of the most captivating performances I have seen anywhere.
My ex and I used to go see Tori whenever she was touring in the 90's and early 00's. Her ability to play two keyboards while singing amazed me.
Tori Amos was my first concert and I have been in love with her music ever since. Such an amazing artist.
Her album "Strange little girl" is an amazing collection of covers of some very dark songs. The cover of Slayer's "Raining Blood" is unusual, and the cover of Eminem's "97 Bonnie and Clyde" scares the hell out of me.
This.
She sings the song from the perspective of the dead mother. The next song, "Strange Little Girl," is sung from the perspective of the daughter in "Bonnie and Clyde"
You should cover her song Winter. Her masterpiece for me. Some wonderful live versions out there.
Agreed! I discovered Tori with ‘’Winter’’ and it will always have a special place
Yep, a song so badass that it can motivate professional wrestlers (Mick Foley)
Tori was our neighbor and my sister’s best friend in our childhood, early teens. Did not know she sung this. I love it.
A perfect analysis of a perfect performance ❤❤❤
Tori Amos is one of my faves! Reminds me a little of Kate Bush. I absolutely loved ‘Winter’ when my bf played it to me the year it came out. Yay 😀 I’m excited for this one!!!
Yes, i too think so, she employs similar resourses to express emotions, very close to the Katy´s work.
Ohh, yesss, Winter is so beautiful! My brother gave me one of her first albums, so gooood.
She admires Kate since forever. She covered And dream on sheep on stage :)
Kate and Tori, both my favorite lady singer-songwriters of all time. Together with PJ Harvey too…what a heavenly trinity!
Thank you for doing this video otherwise I would never of heard this cover her version is amazing and I immediately went and bought it thank you
Tori Amos "Winter" live please! The best.
Montreux 91-92. The one where she's dressed in blue and sings "Winter" for her dad. Incredible performance.
now is it time for the amazing song "winter from Tori !!! so beautiful !!
I love that song. Gonna have to dig it out now.
You have to do Tori's live "Winter". Amazing. Just incredible.
There are just so many great Tori songs she should cover!
@@Drewg351 indeed! It was Peabody not Julliard she was kicked out of I believe.
@@DavidDatura, yes. You are correct. It wasn't Juliard. It was Peabody. Thank you !!!
Tori. Is. INCREDIBLE!
Tori Amos's cover of Reign in blood by Slayer is far more scary than anything Slayer has ever recorded in my opinion. It's incredible.
I second that
Totally
True
Better yet her POETRY cover of EMINEM 97 Bonnie and Clyde...pure 98 octane unleaded NIGHTMARE FUEL and it RULES
never seen this performance! awesome analysis!
She did a great duet with Maynard from Tool! Muhammed my friend... She's great!
You are very special! Try this one it will delight you. Tori Amos - Winter (Live) - it's in Montreux 1991
Me And A Gun never fails to make me cry, especially the live clip from this same concert. The intensity and pain in her eyes, I just can't...
Every time I hear anything she sings, it brings tears to my eyes. It’s inexplicable, like she touches my soul.
Love this cover, and most everything Tori does, but there is nothing she could do that will ever outshine her song Winter in my eyes!
That entire album, Little Earthquakes, is a masterpiece. I agree that Winter is one of the best songs on that perfect album, and one of her best songs, period.
Winter is definitely my number one tori song. As much as i love all of her work, that story in that song is just something very special
Yep, a song so badass that it can motivate professional wrestlers (Mick Foley)
@@aditsu *cue I understood that reference memes.* 😁
I've had the pleasure to see her in concert a few years ago. That lady is so talented, raw and able to put so much emotion in her work.
Tori Amos stands alone...as good as it getz 🧡
More Tori!!!!!! One of my favorite live acts…
Love her cover of '97 Bonnie and Clyde. It is absolutely Haunting.
Tori Amos is my all-time favorite vocalist, full stop. No one else moves me like she does either lyrically or stylistically.
Some Regina Spektor would be a fantastic follow-on to this! Regina is ridiculously playful with her vocal technique in the best way (Poor Little Rich Boy is a good example of this, but Samson, Braille and Back of a Truck are excellent songs too)
