You're an amazing teacher Kye!!! I made this a few weeks ago. All KAF recipes knock it outta the park, but this was a grand slam. My husband couldn't stop the compliments with every bite. Happy New Year!
Delicious! I made this yesterday afternoon after coming across this video. Froze half for another weekend! This afternoon we enjoyed a slice warmed in the microwave. Just like fresh out of the oven! best coffee cake - ever! The chocolate in the streusel is yummy! I like the process of butter/flour blending first.
I made the Birthday Cake version last week to take to a scrapbook retreat. It was a super success. I didn’t watch the video before I made the coffee cake; now, I see watching the video tips and techniques has made the process more clear. I will be making this again. For the first time, I used the silicon mat instead of parchment, and it made it very easy to get it out of the pan.
The next recipe on my upcoming baking endeavor! I have been looking for a good coffee cake, but this one looks amazing! Thank you Kye for sharing and now I am excited for what’s in store for the rest of 2023!
I am a Student at University of Mount Olive and for one of my classes my professor suggested your account for baking help. The ateps and instructions are simple and easy to follow. For someone who does not bake often I appreciate the explanation of the use of parchment paper and how make it fit accordingly with the handles. I would have missed this step and wish I didn't later on if it wasn't for your tip. Thank you!
This came out SO good, I can’t believe I actually made it myself when eating it. This video was extremely helpful when following the written recipe from your site. I did add some princess flavored baking emulsion to the cake and it was delicious.
Response from my sister “I hope you save this recipe “. Best compliment a person could get. It’s a delicious cake. I did make one change, I added chopped walnuts to the filling.
This looks delicious! I got an e-mail from King Arthur with this recipe and I printed it out. Watching you make it, is the icing on the cake! LOL The recipe did mention we could use whole milk for the cake, so I'll be using that. But I will definitely update how it turned out. Gosh, this looks delicious! Thumbs up. Wonderful video. UPDATE: Delicious! I went exactly, to the letter, by the directions. I used whole, organic milk. I baked mine for 45 minutes. Perfect! I tried eating only one piece, but like those famous chips, you can't eat just one! So, I had two. My husband loved this too. Thanks King Arthur!
Love the recipe and so appreciate your tutorials. I cannot wait to give this coffee cake a try. Love the touch of cocoa in the filling. Can I double the recipe and make it in a 9×13? Many thanks. ♥️
Hi Maria! You can definitely double this recipe, however, instead of pouring it into a single 9” x 13” pan, we recommend pouring it into two 8” squares, two 9” rounds, or a combination of the two. This will ensure that the coffee cake will bake properly and evenly (rather than sinking in the middle). Happy baking!
Hi Teresa, there is always a printer friendly version on the recipe page that is linked above. You can find this one here: bakewith.us/CinnamonCrispCoffeeCakeYT Hope this helps! -👩🍳Maranda

Wow, I can't wait to make this coffee cake! Kye, your instructions were very clear and you made it look so easy. Thank you! It looks delicious and great for an afternoon coffee or tea.😋
Enjoyed watching the video. First time viewer and I thought it was excellent. Easy to follow what to do. Thank you for that and the recipe. I look forward to baking this. Good job.👍
This is my coffeecake that my grandson requests all the time, but you've taken it up a notch. I've been making the same one since his mom was a little girl (50+ years), and normally I'd say don't mess with success. But I'm gonna bite the bullet and give this a try, because TH-cam was sentient and presented this video on the very day my grandson is having his housewarming party and requested that I bring my coffeecake! It was meant to be.😍
Hi, Carolyn! After resting in the pan for 30 minutes you'll first flip the coffee cake over onto a sheet pan or plate (whichever is best for controlling loosing too many crumbs for the pan you choose), remove the parchment paper and then flip onto your nice serving plate. Happy baking 🧡! -🍮Nicole
Overall a great video. Wonderful logical steps that are easy to follow. Lots of king arthur baking products placed throughout the video which is great from a marketing standpoint. This comment is coming from a student at the University of Mount Olive located in lovely NC
Hey there! I'm a student at UMO and I found your video pretty interesting. I'm still fairly new to the coffee game and my tastebuds are immature so a sweet treat like this would pair perfectly to a nice cup-of-joe. The cake looks great and maybe one day I'd give it a shot. I found it very helpful about the parchment paper tip about folding the excess paper to use as a little flap/handle! That's some smart baking:)
Dude King Arthur is good stuff!!! Cheaper than most brands and way way higher quality!!! Plus they have the protein content easily printed. It punches way above its weight but it’s as cheap as gold medal (don’t buy that by the way)!!!
Question about King Arthur recipe on the website. For the unsweetened cocoa it says 2 tablespoons (12 grams) when i scooped two tablespoons my scale read 6 grams. Is the website wrong on the weight or could it be the brand I was using isn't as dense as what you used? I was unsure to go with my 2 tablespoons or go by the 12 grams weight. I ended up just doing the 2 tablespoons and the recipe did come out good.
Hey there! Thanks for reaching out! That's why we highly recommend weighing ingredients rather than using volume measurements. Volume can vary a lot based on who is measuring and how they measure. Also, depending on the kind of scale you have, 12 grams may be too light of an amount for it to read accurately. We hope this can help! Kindly, -👩🍳Morgan
This recipe should work in a mini bundt pan! You'll likely have a shorter baking time, I'd suggest you start at about 30 minutes and bake longer if necessary. -🍰Grace
Hey there! You could use our Baking Sugar Alternative in this coffee cake. It'll be a 1:1 swap by volume, for other brands we'd recommend following the substitution directions on the packaging. Happy baking! -👩🍳Morgan
Hi, Susan! You'll remove the cake from the pan using the overhanging edges of parchment as handles to gently lift the coffee cake out to then place on a cooling rack. Next you'll top the crumble with powdered sugar or glaze and then transfer the entire coffee cake to a dish or cutting board for serving by lifting it off of the parchment with a spatula or flat utensil to support the coffee cake. -🍮Nicole
You could definitely use this method with a hand mixer, just be sure your bowl is large enough so you don't end up with dry ingredients escaping the bowl! Kye is pretty dang great! 🧡 -👩🍳Morgan
Hi, Diane! The crumb topping calls for 6 tablespoons (75g) granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons (14g) confectioners' sugar, sifted if lumpy. Let us know how it goes! -🍮Nicole
It slides pretty easily, especially if you can use a spatula to ease things along! But you can also do the double flip method if you prefer. Slide your entire coffee cake with the parchment onto a large plate. Place a second plate upside-down on top of the cake. Using one hand on top and the other on the bottom, flip them over so your cake is now sitting upside down on a plate with the parchment on top, remove the parchment, then repeat the process again onto your serving plate. You'll probably lose a bit of streusel this way, but it's another option for folks who are struggling with their parchment. Happy baking -👩🍳Kat
Hi Charlie! You could do that here! If you find the sour cream you have on hand is on the thicker side you can add a splash of milk to thin it out. Happy baking! -👩🍳Morgan

What, no nuts?! I realize there are people who are allergic to them, but I personally would add either walnuts or pecans to the filling or.the streusel. this adds another delicious element of crunch❤

Next you'll top the crumble with powdered sugar or glaze and then transfer the entire coffee cake to a dish or cutting board for serving by lifting it off of the parchment with a spatula or flat utensil to support the coffee cake. -🍮Nicole

Hi there! You want to cut in the butter until you have chunks of butter, some the size of walnuts and some the size of peas. Think shelled peas and walnuts though! We hope this can help to clarify! Kindly, -👩🍳Morgan
I would like to see the recipe listed for each item and the amount You use grams and you also use teaspoons and tablespoons very confusing
Looking forward to trying this recipe. I fell asleep during the video, she is so slow and without variation. zzz
To Mach sugar but looks good
Feel free to reduce the sugar if you like a less sweet cake, Blanca! That's the joy of baking at home. 💛 -👩🍳Kat
It sure is easy to pick someone's work apart.
You don’t list dry ingredients and you don’t say the temperature on the oven!!
The recipe is linked in the video description, Susan! The video itself is just a demonstration of technique, since you'll obviously want to bake from the written recipe instead. 💛 -👩🍳Kat
You never gave the temperature or the time
