Big fast beasts, you’ll never guess what happened the other night. Go ahead guess! I was getting up in the middle of the night to take some of my GI medicines for my recovery and then I heard a boom. I automatically checked flight tracker and sure enough, an Air France A359 from Denver to Paris at a blistering 723 mph. “Did you hear that Dad?” “It was a firecracker, it was thunder, it’s a JUMBO JET!!!” The inauguration is tomorrow, yippee! 🥳
Wasn’t expecting this odd shroud of coincidence because last night I also rose up to a cacophony outside from an A330 that had taken off of from LTN and was just about bisecting through central London! It was about 14K feet despite it sounding akin to a sonic boom. I also never had an LTN outbound go through London before as well, perhaps it’s a subtle presage of things to come?? 😲
@TheEnthusiastOnTH-cam If it is, it better of something positive. The thing with the A350 as with other jumbos is that the noise came all at once. It’s not like I started hearing it and then made a booming noise as it got closer, that happens with lower jumbo jets all the time when they fly over. But we often mistake it for thunder because we’re so used to the much smaller regional jets into PHL. You know, the ones that replaced the Dash 8. It’s a bit different during cruise, one of the transatlantic A330s I filmed made a loud boom a few seconds after I stopped recording its contrail. I felt it in my chest, like a thump and the thing was moving at 697 mph.
Glad to see you took advantage of one of our rare clear days. Great selection 👌 👏 👍
Oh how I miss the warm weather! Not long left now, hopefully I’ll get more bountiful action for the summer 👌🏻
Superb video my friend! Glorious weather, shadow on the clouds, wing condensation you caught it all! 👍🏼

Belle observation en jouant avec les nuages 🙂 à 6,20
Thats definitely the best part of the video. The wing fluff looked absolutely wicked on the A380 👌🏻👍🏻
