    Legit fix! I did repaired my curled-up odometer polarized film using the top film from a Harbor Freight voltmeter I got free with a coupon. I didn't replace the back reflector film, I just peeled off the top film from the voltmeter, cut it to size, sprayed the back with some spray adhesive and stuck it on. The film did curl up when I peeled it off the old LCD glass, so I curled it the opposite way a few times until it lay flat.

    Excellent video; I did same process on 2007 Suzuki boulevard c50; I tried a cheap Chinese calculator and it didn’t work; 2nd try with a good old American calculator and it worked! Cheers

    FYI: LCD Screen Calculator - CASIO HS-8VA / CASIO HL-4A a bit bigger LCD but it will work - 37mm x 16mm LCD
    Important, you must leave the glue on the LCD display.
    Fantastic video, thanks John vk3hjq

    On 4Runners, guys take the polarized film off and flip it over. That gives you light numbers on a dark background. I wonder if that would work on the odometer on the VTX

    • @str8-6impala72
      @str8-6impala72  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @oodsigma4482 I tried just using polarized film first. It doesn't have an electrical capacity

    • @oodsigma4482
      @oodsigma4482 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@str8-6impala72 polarized as in sunglasses. All it does is reverse the colors of the background and numbers. It has nothing to do with electricity. It's light.

      @oodsigma4482 i understand that. the polarized film is not the issue and cannot fix the issue. the original issue is that the LCD on these models are burned up due to the sun and need to be replaced.

    What about the speedo error? Mine is off 8 mph at 70, only doing 62. Is this a cable lube problem or???

      @@str8-6impala72 I actually had a Garmin Nuvi laying around so bought a mount off Amazon. I hate the location of the factory one anyway. Now it is at least on the handlebars. I put an app on my phone too, but could not see it in the daylight.

    You know what, old LCD/LED screens use the same "polarizer film", we could probably peel one, and get 100 fix's out of it. You *could* probably just take the burnt piece off, then wear polarized sunglasses to see it :D
