I think MatPats "We solved Golden Freddy" video is a must watch to understanding UCN lore and the current fnaf lore as a whole. I honestly think It's by far his best theory, so I definitely recommend checking it out

The Mediocre Melodies aren’t their own spirits. They’re being controlled by Golden Freddy. The soft voice you hear in the “I will keep you here!” lines is actually Golden Freddy (Cassidy) speaking to William through the Mediocre Melody Animatronics.
They could be their own spirits and still be controlled

Dawko was pretty close, but missed some major points
1. Dawko was working under the assumption that there was only one soul in Golden Freddy, but there were actually two, Crying Child(Evan Afton) and Cassidy. Evan was the one laid to rest in the happiest day mini game with all the other souls, but cassidy remained as a vengeful spirit
2. It is not ALL the spirits who came back to torture William, just Cassidy, she just recreated ahe animatronics so she could torture William with the nightmares he created, but none of them have the souls of those who possessed them. This is obvious because not all of the animatronics in this game were ever possessed like the nightmare, and Toy Animatronics
In fact Nightmare Freddy himself says "I am given flesh to be your tormentor" and someone else said "this time there is more than an illusion to fear"
And the voice talking behind the Mediocre Melodies was Cassidy not Baby, and the Mediocre Melodies were also not possessed, Cassidy was just using them to talk to William because Golden Freddy was a suit and has no voice box
So to sum up
You are playing as William being tortured by Cassidy in Hell, she recreated the nightmares William created. Cassidy used the Mediocre Melodies to tell William that she intended to torture him forever
It's arguable, if Crying Child ever actually possessed Golden Freddy. He wasn't one of the kids stuffed into the bodysuit and even, if Bite of 83 was substantial - he died in a hospital.

@@patti6879 no they weren't, they were just security bots, it doesn't work timeline wise, when the toys were created william had only ever killed Charlotte, it doesn't even work from a thematic or story telling standpoint, because there were never any kids who were killed to go on to posses them, nor do they ever get freed, the Toy Animatronics just get scrapped due to sucking at their job and then never heard from again

It’s actually believed that the secret cutscene (which you get by getting the highest score in the game) is NOT Cassidy (who’s name you find out by completing a puzzle in the Security Log Book) letting their soul rest but showing that Cassidy is still keeping William in the purgatory to this very day.
The twitching mirroring how Springtrap was twitching in the FNAF 3 trailer, showing that the spirit is restless will not, possibly never leave

@@HassenOsnel Andrew is like a book version of Cassidy, they are not cannon in the real game/lore, the books are not cannon to the games. They just give off hints of some lore and what happened, the only fully cannon book is the log book. And in the log book we get the name Cassidy, the name on the grave covered in grass, and we can see the puppet handing a little girl with black pigtails a cake (and this picture is suppose to be fnaf 3) sense in most of the books Cassidy is described as a girl either with black curly hair or black straight hair, and Cassidy is the only one without a animatronic canonly given so it would make sense Cassidy is Golden Freddy because we see the kid in fnaf 3 with a Golden Freddy mask, and as I already said there is a picture of Cassidy in the log book where the puppet (Charlie) gives her a cake which is what happens in fnaf 3 so it makes sense Cassidy would be the vengeful spirit because she possesses Golden Freddy and we know the child who possesses Golden Freddy is the one you shouldn't have killed. Also it was confirmed by Scott even though the game called the one you shouldn't have killed a he Scott said that the child could be any gender (And also some people think the soul in Golden Freddy is C.C and its not because C.C died in the hospital, and gotten bitten by Fred Bear not Golden Freddy so it wouldn't make sense.)

So the gravestones at the end of Pizza Sim: Matpat compared the line of names - Gabriel, Fritz, Susie, Jeremy - to the line of bot heads from the end of FNAF 3 - Freddy, Foxy, Chica, Bonnie. Down to the girl 3rd in line and slightly behind two others. The sixth grave in the far back below the tree would be the Puppet, and while not named in Pizza Sim, in the novels Henry's daughter was called Charlie (Charlotte).
Now for the 5th grave on the far right obscured by grass. Releasing around the same time as FFPS was the FNAF Survival Logbook, a Kid's activity book that actually holds some bizarre secretive scribbles, putting Gravity Falls' journal to shame. One thing in particular was a massive grid of squares for you to jot in an 8-bit sprite, but the top left most squares had an ABC suggesting putting in coordinates for a code of letters. The book also has some numbers either out of place or randomly highlighted. These numbers were important, but they weren't for that Foxy grid, but rather in the word search giving the name CASSIDY. The slew of IT'S MEs in it surely must mean that's Golden Freddy. Furthermore, the third novel has one of William's 5 victims be named Cassidy (tho there, she possessed Bonnie), describing her with black hair (tho the later graphic novel of it makes her brunette?), and one of the Logbook pages has the Puppet holding a cake before a girl with black hair. And that kid is mainly people's reference point for drawing Cassidy, often depicting her in overalls.
The Vengeful spirit VA would be Tabitha Skanes (not Baby's) and Scott requested it sound acceptable as either a boy or girl, and it could lean either way: Withered Chica and Mangle say he/him, Golden Fredbear is a he, the whispers and name sound feminine so a cross in gender could be the case. As it is with the Puppet, Henry referred his daughter to it, yet UCN mostly calls it he. And like the Vengeful spirit title on voices .com, Puppet was labeled "little girl" as apparent by that voice which most would coin for Charlie.
Weeby don’t forget, Golden Freddy was possessed by both the Crying Child AND the vengeful spirit (Cassidy). Crying Child’s spirit was actually put to rest in the FNAF 3 mini-game. After that Cassidy became the main spirit to possess Golden Freddy.
Crying Child never possed Golden, he or become a ghost after dying in the hospital and Follow Mike (FollowVictim) or just die and become irrelevant to the story (Whicht is not true because he appear in the Survival Loogbook)
@@HassenOsnel There’s no evidence to prove Evan (Crying Child) just became a ghost and followed Mike around. FNAF 4’s whole story, FNAF 3’s Happiest Day minigame, and Survival Logbook all show that Evan is strongly affiliated with Golden Freddy in some way. It’d be weird to say he was just a ghost following Mike around. The rule with FNAF is that if your body is either killed by, or even touches an animatronic during or after your death your spirit possesses it.
The “It’s Me” parts in FNAF 1 make more sense when you realize it was Evan (still possessing Golden Freddy) trying to talk to Mike who was the Main Character in that game.
I got into FNAF around the time that ultimate custom night came out so it's nice to revisit this :)
Edit: yes the photo of Cassidy is just an edited version of a photo of one of Scott's kids. The voice that you hear while the mediocre melodies talk is meant to be Cassidy talking through the mediocre melody's. Also the Easter eggs that appear on your desk are references to FNaF world (a spin-off game that most people don't like that much). Also you should watch the little cutscene stories that happen after you reach a certain amount of points. It basically is a bunch of little episodes of mini animes.
I feel like MatPat addresses or speculates that both the Crying Child and this Vengeful Spirit are inside Golden Freddy simultaneously. Due to something revealed in the books. I can't remember which video though. This game is pretty sad though. This spirit wants vengeance against William. And rightfully so. But in doing so, it also is keeping dozens of other confused souls from being able to rest as well.
A lot of the rare screens where something cartoony-looking appeared on the desk were actually just enemies and characters from FNAF World.

6:57 It still comes together if there's not one but two souls in Golden Freddy- the Crying Child, and the vengeful "Cassidy". This circumstance is actually hinted at in the Fazbear Frights novels with the Stitchwraith subplot. I think it was the Crying Child that was sated in FNAF 3's true ending and passed on, but "Cassidy" is still around.
11:58 Truth be told, my own theory is that the Mediocre Melodies are among a group of characters in the game that are all being used as vessels for "Cassidy" to speak to William through, like the Nightmares also; they don't have spirits of their own.

Willian Afton actually figured out Henry tricked him as of the first line you got from him in FNAF 6 being
“What a deceptive calling, a new it was a lie the moment I heard it obviously, but it is intriguing nonetheless”
So he knew it was some kind of fake release but didn’t expect when it would come into his burning downfall
Also Golden Freddy never cleanses himself, The final cutscene is not him letting go it’s him REFUSING to let go against what Old Man C. Said he doesn’t want to give up and wants to keep tormenting him over and over and over again
I'm not very certain of this, so anyone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost sure i've heard before that the Kid that represents the spirit, the image, is indeed from one of Scott's children.

The Secret Characters are rarely spawned by DD and are a 100% Chance with XOR who has a very very small chance of appearing in your game but us 100% on when you do all animatronics being 50/20 mode, these characters CANNOT be selected on the screen and are only spawned by them

Golden freddy actually has 2 spirits In them both the crying child and Cassidy, aka the one he shouldn't have killed, Cassidy's death is thought to have been the most brutal one. Given the bits of information we know about them. They were likely beaten to death with a shovel And it was this action that helped place a lot of suspicion on William as this time he didn't manage to cover his tracks as well as the first 4 eventually leading to his downfall( Coincidentally they were the one who scared william into the springlock suit). Also there is only one body in it The crying child was taken to a hospital, but Cassidy was just stufted in the suit.

@@--CHARLIE-- I haven't played fnaf in a while, but from the videos I've seen on the lore. The shovel comes from a line, the whole line said "I'll wait for him after school, hit him with a shovel, and then drag him into the back seat of my car" then after, it was explained Cassidy was the one he beat with a shovel
20:13 yeah that's a picture of Scott's son. He confirmed it in a steam post if I remember correctly. He said the original picture is quite cute too lol
So there is one more Easter egg in the game. You can get jumpscared by normal Fredbear. You need to just have golden freddy by himself on 1 difficulty, then use the Death Coin on him. Fearbear will jumpscare you showing that no matter what you do, you can't get rid of Cassidy.

Golden Freddy has 2 spirits - the bite of 83 victim and Cassidy (the 5th missing children's incident victim). The FNaF 3 minigame didn't free Cassidy, it freed the crying child from FNaF 4. He's the one who died on his birthday.
You weren't wrong before Weeby, Golden Freddy (also known as Fredbear) is possessed by both Cassidy AND the Crying Child.
Major spoilers regarding golden freddy:
One of the stories in the fazbear frights books tells us that Golden Freddy is possessed by two spirits at the same time. One of them is kind while the other is extremely aggressive and hateful towards the one who killed him. The kind spirit eventually finds peace while the other one traps Afton within an eternal nightmare torturing him for eternity. If you look at the games then both the crying child and cassidy are the ones within Golden Freddy. Crying child eventually finds peace (FNAF 3 minigame) but cassidy remains and takes revenge on Afton as seen in UCN. Crying child possesses the suit when he gets bitten by Fredbear while Cassidy starts possessing it after being stuffed in it during the Missing Children Incident.
It's more about how something CAN be possessed by two spirits at once, especially if you believe any theory other than FrightsParallels (i.e. SplitlineGames or FrightsFiction).
You should definitely watch videos on the lore of the FNAF Survival Logbook! (But I can't remember if the book came out before or after Help Wanted, or when exactly the fans cracked the code either. It's been a while, and I haven't doubled checked the dates.)
Everything about the logbook was before help wanted I'm pretty sure. I definitely agree that thing is surprisingly crucial to the lore and very interesting. She should definitely check out Matpats vid on how the code was cracked

It’s from fnaf world as the enemy’s you fight. bounce pot being a basic enemy spawning at the start of the game, white rabbit being in the circus tent as a enemy and tangle also being a enemy in the tent

The spirit in Golden Freddy is named Cassidy. They were hurt the most when William killed them. William beat Cassidy so badly and as this video says likely on Cassidy's birthday. The broken body of Cassidy is shoved in Golden Freddy. Cassidy is extremely bitter and wants revenge. The reason Cassidy is so aggressive towards Mike is due to his resemblance to William. Most of the kids did mistake Mike for William. Cassidy is forcing the other spirits to stay there and punish William. A few are confused because they weren't expecting to be here. William is screaming Henry Mike help me. He is begging for Henry and Mike to help him.

There is a theory that says that golden freedy has both the CC and Cassidy inside of him, it's based on one of the books afaik
Oh yeah, that makes a lot of sense for William Afton. It’s hell the souls of all his victims tormenting him for all of eternity apparently under the service of the one you shouldn’t have killed a.k.a. Cassidy, a.k.a. the vengeful part of golden Freddy’s, and for the animatronics it’s heaven, they get to torture their killer forever.
I would HIGHLY recommend watching Windegoon’s FNAF Timeline video!!! It only goes to UCN and it’s pretty damn accurate! PLEASE WEEBY! It’s really good! X3

White Rabbit and Lolbit are from FNAF World my dear :) as well as some other character like Dee Dee, i do not remember the rabbit being something lore related just 1 of the enemies in that game 🤔

Golden Freddy has two souls in them, you were sort of right about the Crying Child being Golden Freddy, but you also have Cassidy, the one William shouldn't have killed, UCN is William's hell made by Cassidy, after all Cassidy only wants revenge against William. During Old Man Consequences mini game thingy He talks about Cassidy (without actually saying her name) not leaving (or something along those lines). Cassidy is known as a vengeful spirit, meaning she won't leave. At the end of 20/50 mode the suit of Golden Freddy twitches and shakes, meaning Cassidy (and possibly the Crying Child) are still in Hell with William.
Don't read this part unless you want to be spoiled for Help Wanted:
William escapes by somehow getting into the code of Help Wanted where you play as a beta tester. The longer you play the more tapes you'll find. Once you start finding Tapes William as his new and improved self, Glitchtrap appears. Once you find every tape you'll be forced to defeat him, once you defeat him you'll see a wall with a slider, Glitchtrap will make a little "Shhh" Motion, putting his finger up to his mouth, after the slider will close and Glitchtrap will leave. However if you fail to stop Glitchtrap you will become him, and he'll be in your body (I think?) However once you beat hard mode and get to the end of Pizza Party you will see Glitchtrap, you're a child and it's your birthday. Glitchtrap will motion for you to follow him, once you do you'll become Freddy and he will be dancing to a song, as you're forced to sing it. All around Help Wanted has no happy endings.
There are no more spoilers right now:
It's unclear if William did die in Fnaf 6, but what is clear is that William is still somewhat alive, after all he's died so many times already. So it is unclear if he actually did die that time or if he really was just in a deep sleep, forced into the living nightmare, AKA his hell.

Honestly MatPat's theories on this are a lot better, the main reason you might not have been recommended them is at this time he thought crying child and Michael were the same person which is not true and he also has changed his mind now.
Basically it's William's purgatory controlled by Cassidy alone and the ending shows that even beating Golden Freddy will not end the torment, the shaking is the same as Springtrap first did in his trailer showing their restlessness not peace.
Also crying child was also in Golden Freddy but is at peace in Fnaf 3 along with the others except Charlie/Puppet and Cassidy, also this leaves Cassidy in control of the body.
The secret characters and some info, the secret characters have a rare chance of spawning when Deedee appears and all 5 would appear on 50/20 when she turned into XOR.
Shadow Bonnie is from Fnaf 2 and acted just like Fnaf 1 Golden Freddy and could crash your game.
Bonnet is a female version of BonBon shown off in the custom night of sister location (along with Yenndo, a yellow endo of Funtime Freddy)
Lolbit also was in SL custom night where you have the type in L-O-L to get rid of them or they blocked your cams, looks the same as Funtime Foxy but orange instead of pink with black eyes and no eyebrows and actually appeared first in Fnaf world.
DD first showed up in Fnaf world and spawns in a new bot or increases the difficulty of an already existing one and appears randomly, considered either first or second for most annoying character with BB.
