This is the kind of thing ten-year-olds should be excited about, not Drunk Elephant/Sephora. These weren't on my radar when B&BW had them. The closest thing I had was a grape scented roll-on glitter gel from Claire's. I like how each scent is associated with different activities and memories from your childhood. 😁
I know exactly what you mean, kids seem so much older than they were when I was their age. I'm all for kids having fun with/obsessing over whatever they want as long as it doesn't hurt themselves or others if course, but man...while they get excited over Stanley bottles and retinol, I was getting excited over sidewalk chalk and Hampton and the Hampsters. 🤣 Oh yes, Claire's was another wonderful supplier for all of those Y2k girly needs. I remember a glitter body wash (RIP my shower pipes/drain) and it was green and scented like chocolate chip mint. Just recently I was reminiscing about a perfume my friend got me when we were kids from Claire's. It was the pink Coast-to-Coast Mary Kate & Ashley perfume! 🌸🥹
I would love if BBW did a kids collection. I grew up wearing Warm Vanilla Sugar and Vanilla Bean Noel, and now my 5-year-old son enjoys using my BBW products. I just so wish they had something more suited for him!
I love your Art Stuff videos so much. Great vintage haul! I remember browsing BBW back then and being in love with the Art Stuff collection. I love this nostalgia trip 🥰 I remember getting a lotion or two and I loved them so much 🥰
Aw thank you so much! Me too, I remember exactly where in the store the Art Stuff was located, and I remember always making a bee line to go sniff as a kid! 🥹
Hi Melissa! Love the vibes! It's so great to see your Art Stuff collection! So nostalgic! It's awesome that you were able to find more! I only have a few pieces, and now I want to pull them out and reminisce! 🤗
Thank you! 🤸🏼♀️😁🪩 It would be so fun if BBW brought some back, or something similar, for us to relive these days! Do you remember which pieces you have left? 💞 Thanks for watching!
@MelissaC Oh, I wish the same! I think I have two body splashes, two body lotions, and one glitter roll-on. I don't remember exactly which scents I have, but I'm pretty sure there's a Stylin Strawberry in there since that was my favorite! 🤗💖💗
Thanks for sharing! I remember owning quite a few products in grape, blueberry, cherry, and melon. There was at least one year around Halloween that I had a candy corn glitter ball, lol. It was so fun, and I loved it!
Omg Melissa! I'm so jealous I missed this back in the day! I always hear u refer to it and it makes me smile bc I love my nostalgic scents. Btw your hair is adorable! Such a refreshing video admist all the Everyday Luxuries Collections videos rn! 💗 Tfs Melissa ❤️
This was so fun to watch!!! Thanks for sharing all these cool products with us. I wish I could smell them all. P.s.: I absolutely love the way you talk about your childhood. It is so clear that you were a happy, well taken care of, and well loved child, and I love that. ❤
I had the blueberry glitter splash as a child and it was my favorite! I even as an adult would still love to smell like that lol. I had the whole bodycare set of melon mania it smelled so good and brings back so many memories!
Retro futurism has always been interesting to me. It started as a postwar aesthetic in the 50s during the “atomic” era and perhaps peaked in the 1960s with the Jetsons, with the Hanna Barbara rightly predicting some aspects of what “futuristic” life would be. By the time we had put a man on the moon in 1969, so much of our culture had changed and shifted into other things. But style is always cyclical, and that retro futurism came back 30 something years later in the late 1990s. I’ve always loved the aesthetic and been fascinated by the cultural cues that influence such phenomena in pop culture.
Completely agreed! It's so fascinating to see what people thought technology would be today back when some things seemed so impossible. It's really cool to see where they predictions were right, and where they weren't. And agreed, you can really see how retro futurism shaped the 70s, and later the 90s in pop culture, fashion, etc with the whole 30 year cycle that suggests that trends repeat themselves and make comebacks. So neat, and I love your examples! The Jetsons! 😂 I think my favorite example and what really set the bar for me in the 90s/00s for this concept are those Disney Channel movies, the Zenon series! 🌏👽🛸👾💿
I really don't remember the art stuff i didn't buy any that i no of 😂 i do have a daughter but she is older and was probably to old for it. They have the Shwyan truck 🚚 here were i live now. Thanks for sharing Melissa.
This is such a great video! First of all your Art Stuff collection is fantastic! I remember this collection, and distinctly remember the cherry and blueberry scents. For some reason I think I owned the cherry, but I know I smelled the blueberry scent. I’m thinking maybe my sister had it. 🤔 Either way, it was and still is such a fun collection! I’d love to see it make a return. 😊 We still get Schwan’s (it’s been renamed Yelloh now though). Just got some of the cherry sherbet push-ups from them for when it warms up!
Yes we used to get Schwann’s!!! I would get the little barquito’s. Kinda like a mexican pizza and I would either get a half gallon of ice cream or box of ice cream/popsicle treats for the kids 😂
I never owned the art stuff collection, but I did own the American girl apple and strawberries and cream collection. It was a one time thing and I wished they'd bring it back.
To add to what Shelby said, she showed you how to find the manufactured date for products made after 2010. The batch codes before that year follow a different format! For products made before 2010, the first 3 digits are the day of the year, and the 4th digit is the year. So if I had a product that said 2716CB then it was made on the 271st day of the year (September 28) in either 2006 or 1996, then from there you'd just have to know based on the context of the product which of those two years it was. I hope this helps!
WOW this video unlocked so many memories 😭
The best memories! 🥹✨

The art stuff foamtastic body wash was LIFE!!! I loved it so much.
Really wish bbw would throw it back and bring back this line for the kiddos!!
They really should! I wonder what they're waiting for? 😅🤸🏼♀️
Uhh, the kiddos can set aside. This line would be coming back for my 31 year old childish butt 😂❤
What brings me back the most is the cosmic apple roll on body glitter 😍
I know! So cute! 🍎 ✨ It was everything
My daughter was born in 1990 so we shopped the kids section from time to time! Money was tight but we would splurge sometimes.
Such a fun video!!!
Aww I remember Art Stuff!!💖 I forgot all about it!! I was already in my early 20's when it came out, but I still enjoyed it lol:)
I would love if BBW did a kids collection. I grew up wearing Warm Vanilla Sugar and Vanilla Bean Noel, and now my 5-year-old son enjoys using my BBW products. I just so wish they had something more suited for him!
This was so much fun! I love the look today too! 💛💚💜

Wow the unboxing items are in crazy good condition!
Omg Melissa!

Tfs Melissa ❤️
PS Melissa, she must have really stored those products well. I wonder if she kept them in a cool dark basement or even a fridge.
The blueberry was always my favorite
Aww, I know it! It's so nostalgic and special! 🫐
This was so fun to watch!!! Thanks for sharing all these cool products with us. I wish I could smell them all.

Aww I wish the Schwann's Truck still had a route in my area! 😅 That's cool your area has one still! 💞

I had the melon mania roll on glitter
I love it! 🍈 🍉 ✨
My daughter is already obsessed with some of the body lotion, and she is only 9, 😅 I can only imagine if they lauch a kids edition
BBW could make so much money if they brought back the classics for the nostalgic adults who have grownup $$$ to spend.
I have the apple shower gel with the cute beads inside I’d sell you
How do u read when they come out ?
The batch numbers are on each product & first is the year & then the month. So, for example if it says a 1 that is 2021. Hope that helps!

@MelissaC Ohhh thank you. I had no idea prior to 2010 was different.
I remember having the blueberry scent in the roller ball glitter 🥹 … can BBW bring these back?? lol I remember it all!
They need to bring back a kid's body care line! (Both for the actual kids and for the nostalgics like us! 😁)
I love this video complete with lava lamp, tie dye shirt & butterfly clips 😆
Thank you! I was hoping it would help set the mood for some 90s/2000s nostalgia! 😁
Lmao the squeal @10:30 are my feelings exactly 😂
😂😂
