Asahi Pentax made a series of remarkable 35mm cameras, using a reflex prism and the first camera with through the lens metering. Well made & precise, it debuted in 1964 and was sold in the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games. Both professionals and enthusiasts loved its smooth handling and quality Takumar lenses. The Spotmatic sold in the millions and at one time outsold Nikon & Canon combined. If you use the 50mm f1.4, the images would even better. The slower ISO 50 film will always have finer grain structure and more contrast--it would better used in nature scenes or urban areas with interesting architecture and shadows. Cameras of this vintage should get a clean, lube and adjust from a technician.Try shooting an ISO 100 color slide film in a park or flower garden and you will be amazed, especially if you can acquire the Takumar 50mm f 1.4, considered one of the best primary lenses ever produced,
Ah, dus de camera is ook gewoon te gebruiken zonder batterij, alleen heb je dan geen lichtmeter? Dat wist ik niet :) ik dacht dat er standaard en batterij in moest.
Splendid video! again beautiful images. Pan F is one of my favourites. What concentration did you for your development btw ? It's Rodinal yes ? Thanks Gavin
@@ThePhotographyMinimalist never tried Paranol-s but its quite similiar to Rodinal. I normally use Rodinal on PanF. I used DDX for the last two roll of panf - didnt like it as much as Rodinal. I must try Paranol-s looks good
I did not have a battery in the camera for the lightmeter. As it is full manual you can use a separate lightmeter. The original batteries are not being manufactured, but I understand that the Energizer E387s fits perfectly and works fine. Good luck!
Thank you for explaining the Man-Auto switch. I needed that info. Good clear presentation for all.

The Super Takumar was kind of middle version, the later one was called “Super multi coated”
I believe.
Excellent video. I will try that 50 asa film.
Glad to hear about Ilford PanF+ as I have loads of it.
A great film!
I only have old spotmatic but you inspired me to go buy some film for it
Have fun and good luck!
Was that where they shot the film saving private Ryan?
No, sorry to disappoint you!
Does your lens infected by fungus? I bought one, and mine have fungus in it. I wonder how it will affect picture quality
What battery have you used for the lightmeter
Good question! I used the camera with a separate handheld lightmeter.
@@ThePhotographyMinimalist ah nice one. Great video!
@@tobycowan8452 Thank's!
