It's hard to imagine for me Bristol Parkway, Severn Beach, Filton Abbey Wood, etc not 'officially' being Bristol, but here we are!

Yeah, they are all in South Gloucestershire, but Filton Abbey Wood so close to the Bristol, near the border...
I love watching this and going "hey, I used to live there, well not THERE there, I was miles away from the rail line because Bristol just does not have enough railw..."

At least you got to Bristol Temple Meads from Ashley Down. Awesome video and nice to see familiar faces in this as well but those connections were very tight!
Nice! I can tell this was a challenge with the half hourly/hourly Severn Beach line. Would love to see you guys visit all the stations in Exeter as well. Despite it's size it has 10 stations.
10 is debatable... all depends on whether you class Topsham as part of Exeter (yes, I will be when I visit/video all 10!)

I used to live quite close to Montpelier Station, and one of the things I like about the Severn Beach Line is coming out at the other end of the industrial area by the docks and onto a rather pretty stretch of rural riverside line into Severn Beach itself.
I'm looking fwd to going to the new station. Haven't done that yet. Nice to see the places I know.

The Seven Rivera Service is a blessing for those of us that live here makes life so much easier.
Great fun. Both my sons live in Bristol so all these are familiar to me in one way or another. The Severn Beach line has some great little stations and the area around Montpellier and Clifton Downs stations is great to explore. Glad you both had a great time.
Stapleton Rd to Lawrence Hill is very quick by foot if you know the short cuts, the Bristol to Bath cyclepath being part of it!

Suggestions: for visiting every station in: Brighton and Hove (9)/
Hastings (4). Every London airport station (5) I think.
London has 6 airports all with their own stations (3 in Heathrow's case, so 8 stations for the 6 airports, 9 or 10 counting the Luton DART connecting the airport to Parkway station)

If you'd had a few more minutes at Sea Mills you should have walked down to the level crossing and gone out to get the view of the river, especially if the tide was in. It's a nice quiet spot. I don't think I've ever got on or off a train there but occasionally stop off when cycling.

Interesting video as I'm planning much the same itinerary in a couple of weeks, albeit with the stations to Weston and Bath thrown in as well.

Hi Nick, never realised there were so many stations in Bristol, although i do live down near Exeter. Maybe you two could do an "all stations" in Exeter video, there are 10 stations including Topsham. Reu.
Being bristolian born and bred been on this line many times. Nice to see Shirehampton again my nearest station.

Briefly ran into you between Redland and Clifton Down, you got the proper Severn Beach Line experience there. The signal at Clifton Down is a way round the bend, which I think explains why trains heading towards Temple Meads will depart the station and sit literally ten feet beyond the end of the platform if the single-line isn’t clear. It’s always really confused me. Chances are, if it hadn’t “already left”, you would’ve made it! Glad to see you made them all and it didn’t affect your day too much.

Would be nice to see if GWR were to run more extra trains and to reopen and reinstate some of the services that could soon be reopened. Including Henbury branch line, Portishead branch line and to reinstate some of the other local services including Bristol Temple Meads-Pilning and brand new stations to be added. Including at Pill, Portbury, Henbury, Filton North and Ashton Gate.

I remember watching videos of freight going through some stations in the Greater Bristol area in early 2020 and making plans to go and experience it too, then the sodding pandemic kicked in, I was so fed up! 🤨
Nice to see you starting at the new Ashley Down railway station. I think that the new railway station looks really nice. GWR & Network Rail should reopen and reinstate some of the railway lines in the Bristol area.
And to reopen some of the railway stations including Henbury, Portishead and a new railway station at Ashton Gate to serve Bristol City FC Ashton Gate stadium.

If you want station murals try my front garden wall at Attenborough (Jen and Simon have been there recently) or the down platform at Pokesdown.
Last time I was in Bristol Temple Meads, my XC train got cancelled there and I had to wait over an hour for the next train. This wasn't even the worst part. Met a cute ginger girl while waiting, but forgot to ask for a name or number. So yeah, not great memories of that station

No station has needed a second entrance as much as Bristol TM, the number if times I have been in an interminable queue trying to get out of that bloody station.
It’s gotten a lot better since they opened the exit gates on platform 3/4. Before then, morning commute was a pain when two intercity trains arrived at the same time - queues forming half way down the underground concourse. But, I agree, a second exit would be nice.

Is St Andrews Road still a request stop? It actually looks a lot more scenic than it did, last time I was there - as it used to be pretty much hemmed in by the vertical pipework of the local chemical works; though the very first time I went there, it still had its second platform! Avonmouth has been served by no less than four stations during the lifetime of its railways, by the way, for in the distant past it did have its share of transatlantic passenger traffic serving a fancier, quayside station whose trains were I think cut back to the present station for a brief time before they ceased. Hence, the very long platforms - of which there was rusty track in a third, during my first visit... Now, as we caught only the merest glimpse of it in your haste to reach Shire, was the car park at Portway P&R almost empty? I've always wondered how well it would do, given the relatively infrequent bus and train services to 'ride' within... As for the Portishead Line, even if they'd restore a passenger service to the rather isolated community of Ashton Gate, it'd have been a good start!

Me and my friend have been trying to do this for months lol. It takes two hours to get to Bristol then you don't have much time. I've just got Parson street and Ashley Down left. The heart of Wessex rover includes seven beach.
My daily commuting dilemma - Redland or Montpelier.
