@trudyburns86 Thank you for your kind comment. I grow up in these locations and remember well some of the characters on the film. I also still race my pigeons here and although things overtime have changed but not to the extent of lots of other aspects have. Still love the birds and always will. Regards Dave
My late Granda, Jo Eland flu the UNC many many years ago and we often sat up until the early hours talking about pigeons so i absolutely loved watching that video ❤ thank you for sharing
@@robsrollers1329 That’s really lovely to hear. Special times and special memories I'm pleased I was able to reignite those special times. Regards Dave
@nathanroberts6356 I agree with your sentiment, but it doesn't have to be like this. A lot of the decline is, in my opinion, down to knowledge and the adoption of modern practices without understanding the effect and cause of their actions. Fortunately or otherwise, I have lived long enough to witness both previously before the sport was the way it is now, and I still race my bird’s today. I can only do this by understanding what it was like before and after trying the modern practices returning to the old ways. Which I must admit the sport has become more pleasurable and enjoyable again. I hope that other fanciers can come to this realisation, and although I do understand with the restraints of modern life the sport will never reach the dizzy heights it did previously. Regards Dave
Great memories.I remember visiting George hoggarths loft in skinningrove in 1986....lovely fella. I still miss having pigeons.A great sport👍 lovely little film mate.
@englishbullterrier847 yes they were great times. I remember visiting the the lady cleaning the floors (Jean Barker) and her husband Lorrie. They were lovely people they bred us a pair of youngers off their Combine winner a red cock. Great times and great memories. Regards Dave
@philipalmond1773 Yes it is Philip. We've moved on into a world abundant with time-saving devices and now we haven't the time to enjoy the meaningful pass-times that really enhance and make our lives whole. Regards Dave

It's such a pity that the sport is in such decline compared to this time.
