Sir Anthony, I want to take this time and just say, Thank you. I googled so much on my own with no avail, I was thinking and dreading the 1200+ down the drain. And your experience helped me. I’m sure you have helped a lot of people out with this. God bless brotha.

My neighbor had the same issue after he had a local auto parts store replaced a dead battery but they blew out this fuse. They then replaced the fuse but they neglected to hook up both wires on negative terminal. He was about to have it towed to a dealership. This video helped me resolve the issue. We saved him $$$. You did real good for your first video. Thanks.

The issue with my 2012 F150 was intermittent advancetrac warning and also blinker issues. No blown fuse, all the connections at the hot terminal post had become oxidized. Some sand paper and a small dremel stone cured my issue.

Thanks bro! Your a life saver. Happened to me just today on my 2014 EcoBoost with 6inch lift on 35s. So you can imagine the struggle I had to drive it home without power steering. Exact symptoms you described. But my fuse wasn’t blown. However, was the exact same apparatus. Just needed cleaning and retightened. Without your video, I wouldn’t of known where to start.

The only thing I would be concerned about is that fuses generally do not just "blow" for no reason. Something in the system is causing resistance, loss of voltage, and/or increase of amperage. You can stick a new fuse in, but the odds of it simply popping again sooner or later are fairly high. Eventually you will just be blowing $40 fuses down the drain. In addition to everything you did here, I would at least climb under the truck and check all plug connections, and add a little dielectric grease to each plug associated with the power steering to ensure low resistance. Also just in case anyone is wondering, there are generally two reasons these electric power steering systems fail. One of them is heat, the other reason is moisture (if you drive in water 10 inches or more). This system is "water resistant" but not waterproof. If I purchased a Ford with one of these systems, the first thing I would do is add dielectric grease to all the plugs associated with the system, and probably run a bead of silicone around any areas where the parts were put together. There are videos on youtube documenting the corrosion inside these units from water. There is also videos on youtube documenting the excessive heat levels on the electronics as they are often near catalytic converters and turbos. I am not sure how to solve the heat issue except maybe to wrap the exhaust with a heat shield wrap near the electric power-steering unit and/or maybe try to fabricate additional heat shielding from aluminum.

Congrats on your 1st video. Blown fuse 90% of the times is a safety solution to prevent a bigger damage, it’s not the problem even though replacing it seems to solve the obvious problems. If that problem happened after you went 4 wheeling in the mud possibly the problem could be water getting in and shorting a sensor or something else that caused the blown fuse. That’s what I’m trying to find (location of sensors) of the advance track in an explorer :-) good luck

Safe my life brother🙏🏼 had the same issue no power steering same dash lights with the Service Advance Trac and Downhill, no Turn Signal would stay on due to Power Saving sistem , plus Hill Descent Controll… all of that start to happen due to a rough bump!
My Battery Fuse was damaged from one on the screws that connects to a terminal and was loose making false contact and not giving enough energy supply and malfunction to my Steering system.
Solution: Replacing Battery Fuse 125A 250A part (full terminal part w fuses) after that just turned on my 2013 Ford F150 and boom 💥 everything working like new

So this isn't the direct problem I'm having but I'm starting to think it may relate and I'm looking for advice. I have a 2012 F150 XLT 3.5 EcoBoost. Currently I'm having trouble with left brake light and blinker not working and I've checked all the bulbs and sockets as well as grounding wires. The reason I ask for advice is periodically I will get the "service Advancetrac" warning and my blinker has the same one blink issue but my power steering does NOT go out. Could these two issues be related or would it simply be a new brake light harness? Added note: running lights work on the brake lights but when I got to drive they no longer work.

My 2012 Mustang have the same symptoms... I am really hoping this fuse is the problem, because I am really sweating and craping diamonds... holy s$&$, I don't live in the US, so the steering rack would cost me my right eye and my left nut.

Finally I can breath in peace, my colon was not going to resist much longer... and the mechanic was not very good with Mustangs. Which is understandable, because there are not many mustangs around in my country.
Thank you man, your video saved my colon... and my liver, have you heard about social drinkers? Well, I am not one of those, I am an stress alcoholic. At least I am a lucky SOB.

Check the fuse with a multitester (instrument to measure Ohm-V-A) or whatever you call it in your country.
If it is burned, Go and solder the fuse, chose a place in which they fix car batteries, when you conect it again it should work. It will last a couple of months, you can also put a piece of cooper, in beetwen but that will last considerably less. While you buy the new piece.
Another thing, if you have a gps or a device that turns your car off at a distance or via cellphone check the conections.

Mine comes on randomly. I don’t lose power steering when it comes on, only the blinkers. Any ideas?

New electric steering is stupid engineering. He old power steering pump design was so much more dependable. Don’t buy a truck with the electric junk ford or Chevy
$40.00 for a $5.00 fuse is ridiculous. Wait till something major like the rack 1200 versus 300 for a pump . I have a 2012 just like yours XLT 4x4. I was not aware they had mad such a engineering blunder or I would have not bought it .
