    Exactly what I've noticed! Barack's speaking style is engaging and relatable. I remember how he uses summary prompts to capture attention-it's such a simple yet effective technique. His analogies, like comparing us to chimps, really make complex ideas accessible. Joining the Sense of Humor Improvement Program by Habit10x taught me that being vulnerable and showing humor connects us with others.
    It’s all about being authentic! Keep honing your skills, and you'll find your unique voice, just like Obama does in his conversations. Authenticity really is key in great communication!

    Great video, Michael! Can’t go wrong with learning from the GOAT 😍 question for you personally, I noticed that your hand gestures were pretty animated throughout the video. Is that something you consciously try to do for videos? I ask bc I LOVE in person interviews bc it’s so much easier to build rapport in person but I have zoom interviews coming up and I’m looking for ways to improve engagement thru the camera

    • @Ultraspeaking
      @Ultraspeaking  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @djsgolfer714 I've gotten a LOT of feedback on my hand gestures this video 😂I can't help it, it's an extension of the energy that I feel when speaking.
      Since many people found it distracting, I was more mindful of it in recording my most recent video (3 reasons why public speaking will change your life)
      So it's actually the opposite, I have to consciously *not* try to use so many hand gestures.
      The biggest tip I can give you for Zoom interviews is to up your energy level. Practice speaking with emotion. You may want to watch the "how to speak with conviction" video on our channel in case it helps, as well as the "how to stand out in a job interview" video.
      Hope it's valuable to you! Good luck with the interview process, keep me updated on how it goes

    Thank you for the good points, if I may, perhaps you should avoid the constant movement of your arms and hands for every word you say, it distracts the concentration of watching your video presentation to the point that it prompts me to cover the bottom part of the screen to only see you from your shoulders up.
    Ironically the same tendency to use arms and hands movements to reinforce the spoken word is used by Hakeem Jeffries, the democratic leader of the House of Representatives, an excellent communicator and leader otherwise.

    Obama is likable and a great orator, but is factually in error making half the nation upset. Interesting that Obama made the analogy for the legal checklist for using legal force to chimps since he is completely wrong on the law in this matter. Lawful gun owners have a long checklist before using lethal force that is anything but chimp like. For example, is there a 1. real risk of substantial bodily harm, 2. is it reasonable to be in fear of injury, 3. is there subjective fear, 4. can I retreat, 5. was I the aggressor, 6. can a non-lethal option be used to control the threat, etc. Gee, what if the conservatives tried to be likable, charismatic and great orators then maybe their arguments would be more popular and they would win more elections rather than being aggressive, irritating and threatening?

    • @ZestySea
      @ZestySea 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That’s a silly statement. Most people use teleprompters when giving speeches (or notes, back in the day). Speeches are designed. If you are comparing this to Trump, who does also use have written speeches on teleprompters, but ignores them - Trump is more like a stand up comedian with a line up of talking points in his head. He looks for things that gel with his audience. That’s why he sounds completely insane to any one who thinks about what he actually is saying

      Kennedy used one, Reagan used one, both Bush Sr and Jr, it’s like y’all just now care about speakers using a visual aid.

    What you are deliberately overlooking, perhaps because you practice it and teach it because it is what brings money to you, is the hypocrisy, the insincerity of all speakers trying to blindfold his audience through psychological manipulation. You call that a great asset, perhaps because your standards are not up to the challenge.

    It’s nothing in this video. He’s naturally a good speaker. It’s all about confidence. Giving examples mostly annoys others. Also you should notice he’s not a good listener and often his interviewers don’t feel comfortable with him. He is a powerful speaker not a meaningful speaker.

      Are you crazy? I’m constantly asked for examples when I speak. And he’s not there to listening to someone else--HE is the one being interviewed and expected to give a full and thorough answer to even the shortest question. He’s a journalist’s dream interviewee! Yes, I have a degree in journalism. And as a college professor, I give lectures on a regular basis.

      Why do you want a president who can’t enter 18 major countries because he’s got 34 unanimous-jury felony convictions? It makes no difference if they’re overturned or if he follows through on what he said and declares himself dictator on Day One-he still can’t enter the UK, all of Europe and most of Asia. Why do you want to ruin America’s ability to lead the world? Without a president who can go visit other countries to sign trade agreements and such, our economy is ruined. Mad Max World here we come.

      He’s a unanimous-jury convicted felon and can’t enter 18 major countries even if his convictions are overturned. “Have you ever been convicted of a felony,” is required to enter other countries, even as POTUS. Nobody cares if it’s been overturned. Total embarrassment for the U.S. Reagan most be rolling over in his grave:
