Your video is very helpful for potential buyers - My stick arrived today after a very long wait - I already have a Warthog and although possibly an unfair comparison, this Thrustmaster is not in the same league (or price-point though) so, just in case anyone is wondering.... the main advantage the Warthog has is in it's shear weight and wide platform base which affords a much higher level of stability. Many reviewers comment on 'the weight' of the Thrustmaster base implying it is also very stable but I would disagree... It's not too bad pulling the stick backwards but the while thing lifts when pushing forwards... I have applied adhesive velcro strips to the underside of the Thrustmaster to secure it to the tabletop... much better now... just an idea... anyway, all in, a nice stick... works well in flight and looks quite good too... just a quick question... having used it in the A319 for a bit now, what have you assigned the buttons and trigger to?
received my Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus Edition last night, flew a A320-200 from TJSJ to KMCO. Because of this fightstick this was my best Airbus flight. If you fly Airbus this flightstick is a must have. thanks for the review.
@@Nico-ec2ct it has a very heavy base and I do not have any problems with it sliding around, there are also 2 threaded nuts on the bottom to mount it to the Thrustmaster clamp
Very late answer..but just in case anyone else is wondering. I bought this because I wanted something that looks like the real thing of..something :P I am extremely satisfied, I used to use an X-52 pro that wasn't old either, so it shouldn't be worn either. The side stick is imo amazing, it's very precise compared to the X-52 pro, and it rests naturally in your hand, very good ergonomics and heavy enough to not need to be screwed to your table for normal use. The throttle quadrant is also god, but it's obvious it's a replica of the Airbus throttle setup where it will slide into these slots, there is little resistance in the throttle, so if you let it go when it's outside the slots it will not stay put, but slide..I haven't found a way to make it resist more, though I might have missed it in the manual. I have no problem recommending it over an X52 pro, I haven't tried the sticks more expensive than the X52 pro, so can't speak for those. I do love the Airbus stick though, it's a special feeling when flying the Toliss Airbus'es :)
How is it compared to the 3D pro? My 3D pro is starting to die and since the T16M is out of stock everywhere in my country I'm thinking of getting the airbus edition.
Congratulations for the video. I am deciding to purchase and a question arose: will this equipment be compatible with the Xbox one series? In other words, will I be able to use it at FS 2020 using the MS box?
Hi! Have you solve this doubt? Just found this for 39€ on amazon, but is the pc edition. The pc/xbox costs 129€... I can't see any difference apart from the button with a, b, x, y letters. If this works on consoles I will buy the pc version
Nooooo...maybe fine for someone just setting out in the flight simming experience. The 'Airbus' tag is a clever marketing gimmick but the stick itself bears little resemblance to the real World. Sure there are one or two similar buttons but the 'wiggle' when the stick centres is so not right. I guess for the price it's a good starting out stick. The future releases of the pedals etc will be interesting to see. Thanks for your review Thomas it is always a pleasure to view your work and contributions to the simming community.
The pedals have been available for years. The only things left to release are the throttle (September) and the side add-on for flaps and speed brake (unknow)
They claim NO potentiometers. How do you feel about opening it to check the z axis sensor. The t16000 had a potentiometer on the z axis and that sensor fails predictably. If this stick has no pots it’s a major improvement.
Hi Thomas, thanks for your review. I bought the stick, but the throttle is not working in windows 10. Tried the download of the drivers and the configuration program. But no success. Have you done any special for the setup? The movement of the stick is ok. The flaps works well also the ruder. This with Jardesign A320 but in other aircraft in Xplane 11 the same
Hi Thomas, thanks for your nice review. I interest to get this TCA sidestick but I have a question to ask. Do this sidestick have buttons on the stick to control electric trim wheel? thanks in advanced
Hello friend, I had activesky and ASCA in p3d; now i past on xplane i bought ActiveSky for xplane; my question is if i can install ASCA too for Activesky on xplane version ? Need help !
I have the T16000M and the associated throttle and love them for X-plane. I know the T16000m has a potentiometer in the handle that is prone to problems. It is used for the twist function/rudder and I have had problems with mine sending spurious rudder inputs. There seemed to be some problems with the internal mounting of the pot that puts pressure on it and wears it out prematurely. Are you positive this model has no potentiometers as stated in your review as it very much looks like a slightly modified version of the t-16000m.

I wouldn't be too pessimistic about this! I use Mac for X-Plane and have always used joysticks which say that they are for PCs without problem. The only thing you don't get is any software to link buttons to specific actions. However, you can do that with the settings in X-Plane itself. I'm sure it will work!
I definitely did not recommend the TCA throttle quadrant - how would I since I haven't got it?! I simply recommended to use this stick with a dedicated throttle quadrant.
I am pretty sure there will be a price premium on that stick purely because it is associated with Airbus. Given that it is virtually identical to the TM 16000M joystick (a few switches are different at the top of the stick - they are configured slightly differently) why would anyone bother with this?
I'm having trouble with this as well. I already have the TM T16000M and TWCS. A dual throttle does sound cool but I not only fly XP11 but P3D and DCS as well so I think I think this setup would be to limiting. Maybe when the whole system is released and reviewed it may prove to be a benifit.
It's "horses for courses". For Airbus fans like me, it would probably be great. Of course, if you already have a 16000, you might not want to buy another stick. I was thinking of getting the 16000, but may now wait and buy the Airbus one with the throttle quadrant as well. As I say, there are lots of different types of simmers. This product is great news for one group of us....
I use a 1600 Thrustmaster with a FOXX platform to my left to emulate a Cirrus AC. Oh look, it’s also in blue. ??? And I can config the 1600 for R or L use. This one can’t. Good grief, caveat emptor.
I don't play in my Sim 😉 my fps were low because I accidentally had Vegas Pro running in the background editing this video and filling up my RAM while recording. Definitely not 10 fps, though 😂

FYI : To be able to revers thrust using the engine levers, you need to enable the option in the Tollis menu.
Thanks! As far as I know this was fixed in a recent update (after the making of this video)

Once the thrust lever quadrant is released that tiny throttle won’t matter
Anyone will tell you that you can always find a good usage of an extra throttle (mixture, flaps etc...)

Very nice review. I'm a retired AB320 pilot and have been looking for a side stick.
Would be interesting which function Thrustmaster thinks is for the throttle when you have the complete throttle quadrant
I use it for condition lever in turboprop aircraft.
Very good. You convinced my parents to order it! thank you so much!
Thanks for the video Thomas. As usual very thorough in your analysis.

Question can I change the thrust lever quadrant to something else such as Elevator Trim?

In X-plane it should be set up that way by default
Great video. 1 thing: on airbus it’s called thrust not throttle

It's more expensive, but otherwise the same. Buttons on top of stick are arranged slightly differently.

Would have been nice if they remolded the base instead of just rebranding the entire thing.
