One of the comparisons early is that you state that on premise data cant be accessed remotely. That is not true. Global companies have been accessing data and software remotely from across the globe for about 2 decades. ERP systems are usually implemented as single instances and run manufacturing, logistics and finance and are still often on premis in the larger organisations. Whether access to the applications or the data, the organisation needs to control access to the various applications and data whether it is in the cloud or on premis or hybrid.
That said this is a good video introduction and I agree that with a start up company I would not advise them to go on premise now unless there is a very unusual requirement.
