This is fantastic! The main thing I don’t like about the scanncut is the perforated score lines. I had decided not to buy the embossing device because I thought it could only be used with the mat. You are a lifesaver!!!
This is interesting thank you, the embossing tool did a great job, I don’t really want to buy the kit so I might see if I can just find something to go in my universal pen holder like you mentioned and see if that works, it’s worth a try 😊
I found it a fun exercise to see the performance of the various tools. Glad you enjoyed it! Testing a scoring tool is definitely worth a try. If the one you purchase is a little narrow, add some painter's tape or washi tape around the barrel so that it fits the pen tool firmly.
@@CreateWithSueandScanNCut the scoring tool I have is more like a plastic knife so that obviously won’t fit, but last night I remembered I had a ballpoint pen that just recently ran out, so I put that in and increased the pressure a little and got it to draw a line and then cut it out as a card and it folded accurately so easily, it was only a thin line but it worked 😊 sometimes I use my score board and then I fold it and it’s just slightly off, so thank you for putting this idea in my head 😆😊
Embossing tool gives a nice clean fold. Thank
you.
Pleased that you have found it helpful 🙂

Pleased that you liked the video. There are many crafters who do not like perforated score lines. 🙂

@@aw_tig_artwell that is an ingenious idea.! Great thinking indeed. I love "out of the box" thinking. Thanks for the update.
The Brother embossing tool is definitely better!
Yes, I thought the embossing tool did a great job. Very neat. It is great that it did not require the embossing mat to achieve this too. 🙂
I would have thought it would have damaged the mat, I guess with the harder backing it just pushes into the card, not push the card out.
I haven't noticed any impact to the mat at all. :-)
