Lena Hall is a Tony Award winner and Grammy nominee, recently portraying the dual starring roles of Hedwig and Yitzhak in Hedwig and the Angry Inch in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Following her Tony-winning Broadway run, she toured North America with Josh Groban on his Stages tour. She originated the role of Nicola in the Tony-winning musical Kinky Boots, and can be seen on HBO’s Girls, Amazon Prime’s Good Girls Revolt, and heard voicing the fan-favorite role of “Countess Coloratura” on My Little Pony. In 2018, Lena will be appearing opposite Jennifer Connelly in TNT’s science fiction epic Snowpiercer.

Honestly....if Bowie didn't create so much amazing material this song would be so much bigger. But because he gave this to the movie, I feel like this song never got the recognition it should. It's gorgeous as is this version.

Just reading that Lena will be appearing opposite the female lead of Labyrinth (Jennifer Connolly) in the TV series adaption of Sci-Fi film "Snowpiercer". Now that's cool.

I swear the more I hear this the more I wanna cry. It's so dang beautiful.
The Ballroom is my favorite part of the movie. It's dark, decadent, and yet so magical. Jareth is trying to seduce Sarah but it's Sarah that has him enchanted. It's beautiful.
That's my favorite scene and song as well from the movie. On the 25th anniversary edition, Brian Henson explains that the scene is about Sarah's apprehension to an older man responding to her. Suddenly she realizes maybe she doesn't want to be an adult if that's what that means and she's not ready for that kind of relationship yet. In the end of the scene she decides she doesn't want this "fantasy" romance and is able to break out of the spell to complete her mission to save her brother. Still one of the coolest movies from the 80s, hands down.
I am literally so obsessed. This cover made me look at all of her other videos. I also bought the album on iTunes for all of her Bowie covers. She’s so talented!!!!

I'm getting married next year and while I originally wanted this song for our first dance, I've made a compromise and will get "as the world falls down" as a tattoo after the wedding to remind myself that we always have each other no matter what is happening in the world or our lives. ❤

Many would argue that this song deserves more recognition, but I'm glad its an obscure song in Bowie's discography. It's the song my wife and I danced to at our wedding, and for the rest of my life it will bring a tear to my eye. For some strange reason, i love that its underrated. I love that it's underappreciated. To me, it makes it much more meaningful. I don't know how, it just does.
