    GT500 all the way just because it's a Shelby? Like come on now. You would get so much more attention and it would be worth more down the road! No matter how good the GT is, it's not a Shelby.

      The Shelby all day .That's why I have 4 shelbys they hold there value and with a few mods you got 700wheel

    • @anthonylaudano9751
      @anthonylaudano9751 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Dj d Well the first year super snake's especially the rare shelbys with the 427 package. I own a Convertible 07 super snake with the 427 package 1 of 3 car's

    • @anthonylaudano9751
      @anthonylaudano9751 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Dj d The year 2012 Shelby 1000 car's and the most valuable are the 50th aniversrey super snake's.Shelby built 50 white and 50 black also the 14 signature series super snakes.

    • @anthonylaudano9751
      @anthonylaudano9751 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Dj d Not just because I own one of the 44 convertible super snakes for 2007 with the 427 package. I really think that the 427 SS for 07 maybe big money in the future. I base the 07 427 package car's on history. There a tribute to a 427 cobra and everyone knows what kind of money they bring in.Speed and how fast a car is doesn't always make it more valuable than other car's. Lol a 65 gt350 is about a half a million buck's and continue to rise.So performance not all the time automatically make a mustang better than the other car's

      Nice man in have a 900hp 10 grabber blue shelby supersnake. Insane power everywhere.My 07 convertable 427 edition supersnake makes roughly 650 hp.Then my 08 850hp 850tq.The power in the shelbys are instant.They pull so hard and it doesn't stop like for say my 93cobra or my 87 mustang GT. They hit 55hundred RPM and there done.Not 500s and even more with my supersnakes.

      Trey Gotti I guess cars are becoming disposable items. If I like something, I tend to keep it forever, even cars. I have a Toyota T100 truck that I have had since 1996. It's still a great truck even though there are better trucks out there now. It's hard to resist wanting and buying bigger and better things, but it's a race no one can win. At this point with cars, it's just an ego thing.

I would honestly choose a 2010 GT500 over an S550 any day. I love all mustangs especially the coyotes and the terminator but something about the GT500 man idk. Maybe it’s the history behind it. I test drove a 2019 Bullitt, and I own a 2007 GT500. I did like aspects of the newer interior and the new body is growing on me. It handled really nice and was very smooth. Sounded great too. It just didn't have that raw, powerful feeling I want a muscle car to have. My Shelby was just so much simpler and way more powerful.

    I just bought an 2015 5.0 convertible for 35000 with tax car has 2k miles 20 inch wheels with pirreli pckg and 2 year left on the bumper warranty. Cheapest convertible 2011-2012 gt500 was 36k plus tax. Just sold an 2009 viper with 3.55 gears and exhaust so already had a fast car. I think comes down to personal preference. I like the looks of s550, more and quick enough for a summer daily car. And the fact that i drive a brand new car is nice too.

    I own a 2016 Mustang GT convertible with PP and a 2007 GT500 convertible. I will take the GT500 all day long over the S550. The GT500 is a better platform to modify IMO. The TR6060 is a far better transmission compared to the MT82. The s550 is probably a better daily driver because of the technology advancements in the last 10 years i.e. SYNC 3, blind spot monitoring and adaptive CC. Again I would choose the GT500 over the S550.

    But if you're saying bang for buck it's definitely the GT500 all day long. Because to get the same comfort in a GT Mustang you're going to have to go with the premium package. • @3644Darrell
      @3644Darrell 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Clean93GT The Boss is a much better choice than either the 550 or the Shelby. If I had not have wanted a convertible, I would have bought a Boss. The Shelby's are too heavy and drive like a boat. The 550's come with a shitty transmission and clutch and it has electronic steering which takes away from road feel.

    • @midnight347
      @midnight347 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@3644Darrell boss has electronic steering too so does gt500s and regular 5.0s from 2011 onward. The older iron block gt500 was just over 3900 lbs which isnt much more than a loaded s550 which is prob above 3800 and the 11-14, aluminum block gt500s are just 3800 lbs also. A head unit upgrade for a gt500 is alot less money than a blower for a 5.0 that is one advantage to it already being supercharged plus you have tons of torque everywhere down low even on the stock blower compared to an s550. I love the boss but it has the same "shitty trans" s550 has the mt82. Gt500s also sound better than coyotes and they chop with cams the old fashioned way no need for a cam tune. They have a more old school muscular sound than the coyote deeper and meaner like the old 5.0s and the old 4.6s too they all got the same firing order the coyotes is different that is why it has a more high pitch euro sound it sounds good too but I prefer the old 4v 5.4 in the gt500. Has a much more old school raw muscular feel compared to an s550 and it isnt just the older chassis and solid axle the long stroke 5.4 just by nature makes alot more low end torque than a coyote even without a blower add in a positive displacement blower on top and they are torque monsters and very fun on the street even with a stock blower. You can make them handle pretty damn well if that is what you wanna do with the car. It depends how you wanna set it up they don't do that bad even stockish lowered on some nice rubber. There is alot to like about the old gt500s. Depends on what you want. If sync 3 and big screens fancy stereos and other creature comforts matter more to you get an s550. Depends on what you want.

    • @3644Darrell
      @3644Darrell 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@midnight347 yeah, I forgot the Boss has the MT-82. For the life of me, I don't know what they were thinking when they decided to go with that transmission.
      I track my car and do autocross so a supercharger is out; they get too hot. The GT500's make a great drag car though. I haven't driven a newer GT500, I have just driven an 07 and I didn't like it. It was the first time I had driven a Shelby and I guess I expected fireworks and pure joy, but I wasn't impressed. My 07 GT is a lot lighter and more nimble, but I have over 10 grand in my suspension so mine rides and handles completely different than other Mustangs. If I just had another 100 horsepower, I would be thrilled.
      I don't like all the fancy new stuff on cars. I grew up driving a 66 GT with a built and balanced engine with around 350 hp in a 2,750 lb. car so I like a car without any luxuries except for air conditioning, power windows and door locks. The 05-09 are as close as I can get to a 65-68 in a modern car. I would like to drive a Boss on a track just to see how it feels, but with a different transmission. I got to drive a 2014
      GT MT-82 in a place where I could drive fast to test it out and I hated the trans. even more after I experienced it. It also didn't handle worth a crap.

    What about 07-12 GT500 vs. 11-14 Coyote? Won't the coyote always make more power on the same blower (and be lighter)? Also the older cars can't support flex fuel.

    • @blackonefifty
      @blackonefifty 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      AKDMB Coyote's don't seem to produce the torque the 5.4's did, at all.

    • @itsyaboia-dub1120
      @itsyaboia-dub1120 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Neither is designed to take flex fuel but the GT500 will support it better than the coyote mustangs due to the twin pumps and drivers. As far a power vs torque go's, the 5.4 mod motor is just a low compression, tall deck, long stroke 4.6 and the 5.0 is a high compression big bore 4.6. The long stroke is why the GT500 makes more torque than the 5.0. And the 11-14 GT500 motors are all aluminum so when you put a positive displacement blower on a coyote you'll be at about the same weight as well.

    • @AKDMB

      AKDMB Always make more power? No. The Coyote's advantage is that it is an 11:1 engine from the factory with 210-212 degree duration cams with .~.470" lift from the factory. (versus 07-12 GT500 @ 8.4:1 and 184 degree .390" lift)
      Give both engines 11:1 and well match aftermarket cams and the GT500's 5.4 makes more power everytime. The GT500 heads outflow Coyote heads stock and ported (especially on exhaust side) and the extra displacement also comes into play.
      Built to built (properly), Condor/Trinity > Coyote. More cubes and better heads easily outperforms VCT.

      @@everarmed_89 the only thing worse about 07-09 if you wanna call it that is the stock clutch, has a heavier iron block but it's also stout and easily replaced for cheap if something happens compared to the super expensive aluminum blocks. They do not have widenand 02 for afr but that can be added for few hundred bucks and they don't have knock sensors but that can be a good thing alot of guys have trouble with false knock causing issues especially on the earlier cars 10-12 the first ones to have the knock sensors. Long as you go with a reputable tuner who's familiar with these and tuned them since the beginning you'll be fine. They can make good power as good as the later ones do and they're little more raw and some prefer the look some like 10 up I like an 07-09 with 10 up treatment (centered letters on trunk, body colored mirror covers, 13-14 style taillights with some tint on the front lights etc) these things can do alot for updating the look of the earlier cars. I have an 07 that is like this currently just bolt ons with 550 rwhp and f14 drag pack. I'm bout to throw a gen3r on it with bigger injectors and pump boosters and make 750+ on 93/boostane with a 2.6 upper only with a small twin 65 tbody and stock headers.
      The 07-09 make same power as 10-12 once running an intake and tune on both the earlier cars just pick up more power with those mods compared to 10-12 because those had better intake and tune stock so less room for gains in aftermarket. Once they're running the same blower 07-14 all make pretty comparable power with the same supporting mods etc. The blower is 95% of the power difference on 13-14 cars and its super easy to get an 07-12 to bolt on 13-14 numbers by swapping the same or better blower.on the 5.4. They all have 800 rwhp ceiling on stock driveline but the early iron 5.4 arguably holds up better at elevated power levels than the aluminum 5.8. The 07-09 are the most underrated Shelby ever people think because they have less stock power they have less potential all that means is more room to grow with mods as they're all very close to the same thing with minor changes ove the years.

      You do realize you can mod a Shelby too look at the one in the video. It doesn't take much to get to that level of modding on one. A simple 2.3 blower swap, cams fbo and injectors and pump boosters can get you some big power like 800 whp and torque with a stronger rear end and trans (comparing manual vs manual). Where it's already supercharged a blower swap is easier and cheaper than installing a full blower kit on a coyote or anything else that wasn't already supercharged. They have a more old school look feel and sound and they have way more torque by comparison even comparing a positive displacement blower coyote against a blower swapped gt500 like this one. They're alot more unique and you see way less out in the wild. I stole 108k mile 07 gt500 with tasteful mods and bolt ons in real good shape for the year and miles clean title for 16500 I could not pass that up. You would be hard pressed to get any s550 gt for that price even at over 100k miles and base model. It costs alpt less and is easier to swap the blower on a gt500 vs a blower kit for s550. I got a gen3r brand new for 3499 on black Friday. I got some dw95s and vmp pump boosters I should see 750+ on 2.6 upper only on 93 and boostane with a small twin. 65 tbody and stock headers. I should see 700+ torque also its going on next week I put a f14 drag pack on my car first thing because it would not hook on the 20 inch rovos and street tired when I bought it at the current 550 rwhp with bolt ons let alone when I gain 200 more whp and torque with the gen3r on the same supporting mods other than fueling upgraded and same pulley size. For the blower and all supporting mods plus the drag pack I still don't even have 25 into the car total. It's been taken care of and maintained properly and it continues to he maintained properly by me which is the most important thing imo.
      I can see why people like s550s I like them too they're sweet id love to have a gt350 next to my gt500 one day but for what I'm trying to build the car for and what I like the older gt500 makes more sense. I prefer the beefier manual and solid rear axle and I like the 5.4 4v mod motor those cars have a more old school look feel and sound vs the s550 and it's a much more raw experience. That gt500 at 750 rwhp with a tvs pushing 20 psi is gonna feel alot meaner and more violent than an s550 at similar power level. They don't Rev as high on stock motor but they have way more torque and power down low and mid range thanks to the long stroke 5.4. For a street car a tvs blown older gt500 is tough to beat but can still fly at the track too if you wanna do that. The s550 with a 6r80 or 10r80 and a turbo setup would prob potentially be a quicker setup at the drag strip if just numbers matters more.to you than feel and overall powerband and street manners. Either one can do very well the s550 is little better handling car the older gt500 is a better straight line oriented type car can be made to handle well with fairly simple mods and even in stock form they didn't do bad in their day compared to the other cars out there.
      They're both great but there is alot to think about other than which one makes what peak power and how easily does it get there. They can both make alot of reliable power with fairly simplistic mods. It comes down to how you want the car to look, feel and sound and how you want your power delivered etc. Do you want a stout manual stock that can take alot ofnpower with no mods needed other than better clutch and fluid change? Do you wanna do dig stuff the solid axle is good for that. Cheap and easy to mod and fix etc. It's all in what you want.

    The question at the end do you want luxury or do u want raw ass power my answer is i want raw ass power guess gt500 it is for me lol. Love the rawness love the sound of the older mod motors the 5.4s sound insane (5.8 too theyre all the same sound wise 5.8 just a factory bored out and modded 5.4). Im 100% manual guy so having the better tr6060 manual trans is a big plus too and i LOVE the torque of a 5.4 motor and tvs blower combined...its just bad ass. Im gonna run a 15 inch drag pack on mine from the stock even stock and bolt on cars have traction issues. The gt500s are quick if you got traction and can drive even earlier ones. Theyre no joke with a few minor mods. Its not just about which makes which peak power overall powerband and power curve is way different between the two. I like the big low down torque and flat as a board torque curve the gt500s have and theres just something special about them. Real cool cars.

Stock rating is what 300 and 355? Hp is similar between it and the early 4v 4.6 in my cobra but torque was way higher ecspecially down low. I made 1000 wheel on my 2010 GT500, longblock all factory aside from ARP headstuds and Melling billet pump. That was on race gas and twin turbos.

    My 2010 gt500 with some mods made 786 720. That torque is where its at. Love my car but i want the 2020 500. Even though it would have less power but have that auto.👍

    like the video, but you really needed to drive a stock gt500 not some 900hp monster. whats a stock gt500 in 07-10 make hp wise? 550?

      Stock 07-10 makes about 445rwhp (500hp flywheel), 11-12 makes about 500rwhp (550hp flywheel), and 13-14 around 600rwhp (662hp flywheel).

      500 at the flywheel but they can get to 550-600 on the stock blower with bolt ons they are very restricted stock. It isnt hard to get it to this level its a gen2r blower swap and cams longtubes fbo. Really not modded that much that is what is so awesome about them so easy to get big power.

    What about when comparing at 11-12 gt500 to the s550?

    • @YDBT4LIFE
      @YDBT4LIFE  7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      In my opinion it's not close. I'd rock a 11-12 GT500 in a hearbeat.
      BUUUUT an auto TVS with a 69mm and a 5% on E85 is sex!
