Fine tool and nicely done. A small hole, drilled 90%, (1/8" or smaller) at the deep end of your shaft hole allows excess glue and air to escape when inserting your shaft to handle. This makes assembly a lot easier and assures that the shaft is seated all the way down. (It looked like you struggled to get the shaft to seat), thought this might be helpful. Mark
Great job. You could have drilled a small whole at the bottom of your shaft hole to allow excess air to escape allowing the shaft to go in easier. Nice build.
Great job. Thanks. I’m guessing that oak is a cheap wood to buy for your area. Using a nice 12x12inch solid piece for a glue up base and your work bench is solid oak as well.🙂
Well done. A question, you are using 3/8 square steel stock. What is the size of the carbide insert? Another question, how long is the handle and total length of the tool?
Very Nice! Thumbs Up! I enjoyed the process! I have made SEVERAL and I’m really happy with the performance! I think you will be very pleased! Have A Super Week!.....Gus

I can't speak to his, but I made my own years ago with some stainless rod I found at Ace Hardware. You can use mild steel, but you my have to contend with rust.
red58impala I made mine out of steel you get at the big box store then after I had it the way I wanted it ( drilled cut) etc I heat treated it with map gas and quenched it in oil. Run the tap through it again and it was perfect.
As simple as these tools are, I can’t believe the prices companies charge for them. Thanks for posting.

This is the best DIY carbide built I’ve seen. Thanks
Все видео очень лаконично и по делу, никакой лишней болтовни. Молодец. И руки золотые.
That looks better than many of the retail ones. Great job!
Excellent touch with the use of the plumbing olive as a ferrule for the handle. Good job.

Thanks for posting this amazing job, regards from Mexico and ready to make mine
Made mine exactly the same as you apart from the handles. So easy and cheap to make and they work superbly.
Excellent workmanship. Love the handle too, well done 👍🏼😊
Wonderful. You are very skilled. Thank you .
I use my caliper the same way for both metal and wood. I call it "the proper misuse of a tool"!
Lovely finish and result...looks better quality than some factory produced items sold at ridiculously high prices.
Love it!
great video, thank you for sharing!
Sir, it was a joy to watch you. You are a craftsman.
That is just beautiful!
Amazing work, yet again!
You're a genius!
Good job Mr. Young Je 👍

That undeniable honor, when you are one of the first 100 to view a brand new Young Je video :) :) :) Hands down #1 favorite
Thanks for sharing !
NICE JOB.
Good job, but please be careful...at 2:59 the blade almost touched your sweater, that would've been bad.
Очень хорошо!
Well Done Sir Je!!!!
superb amazing

Excellent build! Do you sit at your dining room table and come up with all your tool designs and figure out how you will make them?
Most tasks work with simple sketches.
Excellent! What length did you use for the handle and what is the total length of completed tool?
Very well done. (But don't reach over a spinning table saw blade-made me hold my breath)
Well done.
Great job, thanks for this video, new sub.hier, Cheers man🤗
Nice
Thanks~
Very cleverly done & a beautiful handle to compliment your work. Keep it up. Kind regards.
Dear Sir,
Thank you very much for your hearted reply.Watching your video clips are a real pleasure as one learns constantly. Kind regards.
I made mine as well. I never could come up with a good way to cut a diamond shape in the metal for the diamond retailer tips.
Any tips or ideas?
I'm thinking right now,
If I find an idea, I will make it,
Fantastic
what is the size of the screw used to hold the cutter blade. thank you
Very Nice! Thumbs Up! I enjoyed the process! I have made SEVERAL and I’m really happy with the performance! I think you will be very pleased! Have A Super Week!.....Gus
but what it is and how it works?
What size tap did you use for it?
I used 4-40
Where do you buy the carbide cutters and bar stock?

It's just a cheap iron rod
