The loop has gone on for too long. The simulation is breaking down from their attempts to alter the dialogue. They can only keep going, to preserve their life for a little longer, holding on to that sliver of hope that someone- anyone- will save them
Also, if you allow me to give a recommendation, rytp, a subgenre, I'm very fond of, relies much more on wordplay (like you did with the water), and I'd suggest you try including more of that, as it (water) was indeed funny

It was based on a game show, which i seen as a child, as it was aired each Saturday after cartoons on one of the multi-national channels. There, the main 'plot' was almost retained, only cut short + changed to create situational comedy. What the people said was spliced to, basically, make them say absurd, mostly coherent, things (minus some reverses and random sounds). These two things formed most of the comedy, but there also were just random memes thrown in Also, for no reason at all, i tried to keep the tone of my comments academic (although I'm not good at that) to create a joke from juxtaposition between the silliness of the video and dry tone of my response.
