Touring internationally since 2008, Play Me, I’m Yours is an artwork by British artist Luke Jerram. Reaching over 10 million people worldwide, more than 1,500 street pianos have already been installed in over 50 cities across the globe, from London to New York, bearing the simple instruction Play Me, I’m Yours.
Located on streets, in public parks, markets and train stations the pianos are temporarily available for everyone to play and enjoy. Play Me, I’m Yours invites the public to engage with, activate and take ownership of their urban environment. Decorated by local artists and community groups, our street pianos create a place of exchange and an opportunity for people to connect.

The problem is they took all the sound boards off the piano. Upright pianos are better if you just open the top and use the lid holders to keep the piano open. Even the lid is a sound board. The hammers and strings are not to be exposed. An upright piano is not a grand piano. Grands have better sound boars so it's OK to open them but never take the lid off. Use the lid holders on grands as well.
This is about how to make the piano sound better not where the pianist come from. Piano and other keyboard instruments require lots of practice it's a common practice to spend at least 4 hours behind the piano or other keyboard instruments. It's hard work And not much time for foolish things like video games and such like. 73

By recent you mean since more than 100 years ago because modern classical concert etiquette came into being in the mid to late romantic period and has been a tradition of classical concert since then, yes during Mozart's time clapping and talking was expected because performances where usually done in-front of a smaller audience of aristocrats and royalty but ever since classical music in the romantic period became more and more common as more lower class people where able to enjoy concerts(which is not bad in anyway) the expectation became that people kept silent during performance as to not distract the players and allow everyone to hear the music, also a lot of romantic composers such Wagner or Liszt used silence as deliberate musical tools to convey meaning to their pieces and clapping and talking during the performance is just as much of an interruption of the musical idea as going to the stage and taking the musicians instruments, i understand that people want to allow clapping in classical music to make it less intimidating and more mainstream but that would mean sacrificing a large part of the culture and meaning of many pieces of music all types of live performance have their own culture and etiquette and that must be respected.

When I play the piano, I keep by time signature by tapping my foot so numpties who can't clap in time won't put me off. I suspect that is what they do.

    • @austinlee9974

Tom Taylor yea but when i do that i cant use the pedal. I mean i guess i can use my left lef to keep my tempo but den i have to focus on keeping both my legs in check which is frankly too much if your playing a difficult song.. Idk maybe im just not good with focusing on so manythings at once

@@rufs6468 Simply piano is only a beginner app. It's actual trash when you try to progress to more harder pieces. I have an actual teacher and although it is expensive to take lessons, it was sooo worth it. She helped me fix everything and taught me tempo, articulation, time signatures, scales etc....and helped me play any pieces i wanted to learn. I have to 100% agree with you, simply piano is such a bad piano tool, you're much better off buying beginner books like alfred's beginner book if you're starting the piano. Never rely on simply piano.

I'd say number 2 is harder (Chopin etude op10/1) and more technical than number 1 (Hungarian rhapsody no. 2) although it looks far more difficult it's actually not. Also number 1 should be the valentina listista lizst piece that was written in his youth, can't remember its name, but she championed it as it's far less known than the Hungarian rhapsdoies, but way way harder to play, almost impossible at full tempo, el contrabandista I think it's called.
