Atlus discovered the infinite money glitch by doing simultaneous worldwide releases, ports and making remakes, who would've thought that when you actually do what your fans are asking you will get more $$$.
It is on nearly every platform except switch. And after playing the 1st hour of p5r on there where it looked like someone smeared Vaseline all over the screen, it’s probably for the best. They can put it on new hardware.
I think 4 is a no brainer despite a lot of fans thinking we have so much of 4 already. That game is so tied to 3 in a ying and yang sort of way and a lot of enemy models done for 3 reload can be directly dropped into 4 remake.
It’s weird cause P4 doesn’t need a remake, but now it will be the only modern one without the new and improved graphics and new in game systems which might lead to newer people not playing it (if they haven’t already played the port). P2 on the other hand could use one, unsure how they’d go about it tho. Would be very weird seeing it in P5 graphics so I agree just some quality of life improvements and a modern console to play it on would be great!
@@varyll8400 that's how I feel haha. It doesn't need it, and I've replayed p4g alot and even now on steam and it's excellent. But good lord do I want a full remake lol.
I notice whenever anyone talks about a “P2 remake” it’s never about an IS or EP remake. It’s always just P2 in general. That being said, I’m wondering if that means IS and EP are going to be out together as one game. I could maybe see it given that EP reuses a crapton of assets from IS, and the two games were put together as one on the remake survey. Then again, I find it hard to believe that Atlus would give up the money that would come from selling both separately. Either way, if P2 remake actually does happen, I’m crossing my fingers that WWII Germany leader is not censored any more than he was in the PSP version.
Ya I hope that if they remake it (they should, more ¥ for them) they have those 2 remakes as just 1 game. Persona 2: Duology IDK what would be a fitting name for a remake of them packaged as 1 game instead of 2
I hope if they do remake 2 they make it both is and ep into one singular game, worst case scenario it'll be DLC, in P3 it's fine because the answer is kinda short anyway
I don't know about Persona 4. I feel like there's nothing more to add with Golden other than the graphics and maybe, theurgy and shift? Also voice acting with social links i guess? Other than that, it's already perfect as it is. If they add more stuff, it's gonna be convoluted. Now, Persona 2 on the other hand is a different story. Tatsuya and Maya deserves the remake so more people play their story.
P3 is modeled basically after p5, if there is a p4 remake, I would assume it would come out after p6, and that it would geared towards adding things that p6 adds
The dungeons have not aged well. Given how they are reflections of the cast, it would greatly benefit them to craft each one more like Persona 5 rather than randomly generated corridors with different skins.
They could provide that gay Yosuke romance option that was discovered in the source codes/early builds. There's even a PC mod where some programmer restored it/built it out lol

Why do people keep saying we don’t need a P4 remake? It’s got problems that need fixing and right now we have to make sure the big three of the persona series all get the high quality graphic treatment. I know appearances aren’t everything but first impressions matter
I can understand why p1 and p2 might not get p3re style remakes. For p2, i honestly want a graphical upgrade, more social interactions with the team, and more useage of the rumor mechanic. For p1, outside of the qol changes, graphical upgrade, social interactions with the other characters(there are so many of them) and new game+. And yes, while p4 might not need a remake, it would be 100% awesome to play it with a graphical upgrade and qol changes and maybe reworking maries story a little bit so it flows a little better and doesnt feel as tacked on. Im definitely excited to see what comes of these rumors.
P2 more social interaction? Nahh p2 have way more flesh out characters they react to every minor change even when you go to new places they have something to say... It would be stupid for them to change already perfect story
Given Persona 5 Royal, Atlus clearly still doesn't have any damn idea how to add a new character to a pre-existing story and make them better fit the narrative. Despite nearly all of Royal's marketing focusing on Yoshizawa, she barely features in the game before the epilogue; and every time she shows up in the story BEFORE the epilogue feels tacked on so they can justify using her in the marketing.
@@VioletAeonSnowfield I think that just means they need to stop adding characters like that in their royal/golden style games and include them from the beginning.
I'm in the camp that outside of maybe a graphics update there isn't much I'd change about P4G. It already has a ton of content, the combat mechanics hold up, and a ton of time is spent deep diving into the characters to the point where I don't even feel like we need special episodes or anything like that. I'd rather they focus on 1&2 and then maybe some older SMT games.
I think p4 could benefit from gameplay updates and that the dungeons could greatly benefit from a p5 palace treatment. Other than that though I mostly agree. I think that having Inaba in updated graphics though would make it an even more enjoyable experience especially for the ambience or things like the rain and fog. I think it has more potential as a remake than p3 did, because in my opinion p3 benefited slightly from the kind of drab aesthetic the original had based on it's graphics.
Yep graphics, dungeons and combat system bringing up to same level as P3 reload. They might rerecord the voice acting, but they did re record it for golden. But they might do it yet again. But they could also probably get away with reusing alot of it with maybe a couple of pick up lines, if they could get the cast back for a shorter recording session. Still seems like a huge undertaking. But it's probably worth doing.
@@theanimeplaya4141 I think they would likely stay isometric? I mean you could make them 3d but it would be alot of work. You'd have to re envision so much its almost as much of an undertaking as making persona 6
@@DaRkLoRd-rc5yu the problem with remaking 1 and 2 is those games have no social links it doesn’t have todays mechanics that persona games have which might upset ppl they could add social links and add more stuff but that might upset the og fans of 1 and 2 for not sticking to the original source

@@ethanoneill5316 Laura Bailey was so perfect as Rise Kujikawa, I just can’t see her be replaced with someone just as good to voice her in that tone, same for Adachi. But I think they’ll do a good job because I like Mitsuru’s new voice in the remake.
I would love a remake of persona 1 and both 2's but I don't think 4 needs one.. Persona 4 golden holds up very well... instead they should remake some of the smt stuff... digital devil saga for example.
Yes, but SMT is developed by diffirent dev team, not P-Studio. You should ask Team Maniax why they doing absolute nothing since SMT V (exluding Etrian Odyssey HD 1-3 Remaster).
Lot of people saying 4 doesn't need a remake, seem to forget that the worse aspect of the game was its combat, and repetitiveness. A remake would help this and flush out the combat much more, just like 5R and reload and therefore make the game significantly better. The 4 remake would no doubt, be the best complete experience of Persona 4 there's ever been.
As a massive persona 4 fan I really don’t think it needs remaking. The visuals of golden perfectly capture the feeling of the game being set in a quiet rural town. A remake would just lose the amazing charm persona 4 has. Golden doesn’t have as many issues of certain mechanics not holding up to modern standards (such as not being able to control party members in 3) and golden is readily available on all platforms unlike 3 which just had portable which was not definitive like golden is. I’d rather they put time making anything else Over a persona 4 remake.
Exactly, this is just fans who want it to be involved in all the remake hype for no other reason than “the graphics!” Or to fit it in with P5 sensibilities.
Persona 2 remake would be hype however a persona 4 remake? Hell no and hopefully the community boycots a P4 remake cause P 1 and 2 are much more deserving of a remake
What's up with people not caring/wanting a remake of older persona games??? It's always good to upgrade the graphics, add some new things etc. The only reason i didn't play P3 was because it was so old, and for P4 the old graphics also bothered me. I always cheer for remakes/remaster.
Nice! *P2: Eternal Punishment is my favorite Persona game.* Now, if Atlus is re-doing that, I hope they keep the original darker OST, even if remastered. I hope they don’t give it the same digital techno pop or Hip Hop treatment of their newer titles (like Reload). Moreover, I hope they keep the battle system closer to the original (PS1) release. I’ve yet to play my *Innocent Sin* on PSP (has been on my years' long backlog), so playing both remastered together would be awesome.
unlike p1's weird psp ost both 2 psp just focus remixing the original and innocent sin can sound a bit off eternal punishment is a bit stronger in that field

Same, as much as I love the game and even when there are a lot of needed balance changes, I just don't see the point at least until Persona 6 releases.

But for me personally would love to see it as it is my favourite Persona game, though I could definitely live without it so whatever is best for Atlus and I wouldn’t want it getting in the way of of new IPs
Given the fact that The Caligula Effect was born from the formula of Persona 2, it'll make sense if it's just a port. A Persona 4 remake would work, as long as they kept Johnny Yong Bosch as Yu (Since he has voiced roles in games aside from Persona 4/Golden)
Since P1 and P2 duology feels more like a SMT than modern Persona, they can use the Smt4 and Smt5 mechanics and quality of life, but with a Persona skin, for the remasters and remakes.
My favorite thing about a possible Persona 4 remake is the fact that it is a complete game and they don't need to add any content at all so they could THEORETICALLY use the original voice lines like Konami is doing with the MGS 3 Remake Delta. I know I shouldn't get my hopes up but it would be sick if it was just a graphics and gameplay update while making as minimal changes as possible.
Playing Persona 4 after Persona 5 was very jarring. It threw me off when there was no Baton Pass. And the battles overall felt off to me. I am newer to Persona, so that’s probably why it didn’t feel right. I’ve been liking P3 Reload so far. Definitely has more P5 mechanics, and it’s a blast to play. I still think P5 is a better game because of the Zelda like dungeons with the Palaces, but that’s just a personal preference. Zelda is my favorite series, but with its recent shift in game design, idk if I can be on board with the series going forward after TotK. Persona is a perfect example of changing things up while also sticking with their roots, and with reload, it’s becoming one of my favorite game series.
Agree completely with all of this (I grew up a big zelda fan but not into the newer open world ones) I too played persona 4 golden after 5 royal & it felt off. Ironically I later would play P3Fes & enjoyed it more than golden. Now I'm playing Reload & it's amazing especially after seeing the original

People saying Persona 4 doesn’t need a remake is wild. Persona 5 IS the standard now. Fully voiced social links, new sound tracks and updated graphics. Y’all will be there day one don’t lie. 😂 I don’t think it needs it either, but oh well. Persona 1&2 duology would be great! I really want to play those. Same with SMT 4 and 4 apocalypse I played those a year ago and they’re great! SMT. 4 apocalypse especially is freaking awesome. An updated remake would be so cool!
I get where you're coming from but to me, og P4 has a certain ps2 charm to it. Not that I wouldn't buy a remake. I would. But a P1 or P2 remake would be so much more valuable.
Yes I need all the persona remastered/remakes so that I can get their collection edition and have them all in my glass box! Also so i can play in modern graphics!
It would be fun having 4 match 3 and 5 visually but if the cut Marie I’m not buying it but the remake I want most is the 2 games 1 would also be nice but we really need if… as well the real first game in the series
I can't believe the leaker this time. Persona 4 Golden is available on every platform and plays great still, while the persona 2 games are so radically different from the modern games that it's probably risky to rebuild them from the ground up when you don't know if people will be cool with no social links. Persona 3 got reload because the only way to play it on the last two console generations was p3p, which isn't exactly exciting for newer fans coming off of p5 royal.
I know people are saying P4G doesn't *NEED* a remake, but there's plenty they could do if they wanted to get creative. If you're only thinking small scale stuff like voice acting for social links & P5 style graphics, it doesn't seem worth the effort. But they could go deeper & do more interesting things like make the dungeons more than just winding hallways & rooms. They could actually expand them to be more unique & varied like P5 palaces, with their own puzzles & verticality to go along with their themes. There's obviously the less involved stuff like baton pass/shifting that could be added, but if Atlus really wanted to, they could go deeper with a P4 remake. Then again, they'd probably remake the OG Persona 4 and leave Golden content as DLC... just to piss people off 😅
No they wouldn't. It makes complete sense why the extra content for P3 is dlc considering one was a seperate expansion outside of the main game and the alternate female route is essentially a second game. All the extra content in golden is integrated in the main game so if a p4 remake is to be made then you can expect all the content to be in the game.
I hope it’s p4 golden with added stuff. I can understand why answer is not in 3 remake as it’s it own thing but golden is tied to main game. P4 remake could come out faster because they have the core already done with P3 reload.
Thanks for the info! I feel like they might do a direct port of P1 with a few minimal QoL like with the P3P / P4G switch & other console ports. I’d think that P2 could get the P3Reload treatment with maybe adding something like the Link episodes to give more character interactions rather than having to completely add in S Links when there weren’t there already. I’d really like a current console / pc version of these past games since I haven’t played them much besides trying & not continuing with emulated versions, & i want to support more Persona games getting released.
@@seniorsterling1064 That’s a good point of the new gen fans. A port & then a remake like with P3P & then P3R could be likely though of a port of P1 & then the next year a full remake of P1, as I bet several bought both P3P & P3R.
If P2 gets remade i would buy that on day 1 because itll feel like a whole new experience, if its just a remaster though im most likely skipping... I love P2 but i have no desire to replay it tbh, at least P2 would still get new fans i guess.
P4G may not need a remake but it should still be cool imo. Especially when you consider the modern Persona trio with Reload, P4G is the least modern. I never played P2IS/EP and played a little bit of P1. The looks of it I would like a full on remake with QoL features . Perhaps even 1 more system or press turn system. It should definitely get an update look and not just be yet another remaster.
Considering this is Atlus we're talking about: who wants to bet on them releasing Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment as two full priced games? Also, if the rumors are true, I wonder how they'll handle having "Fuhrer" in the game 😅 Much has changed since 2011, Persona games have many more eyes on them, and I don't think some sunglasses would be enough censorship to deal with that character...

It seems that she replied later on saying that P1 also exists and "not all will be like Reload Style. And an Atlus PS2 game will get a Remaster version" so that means Eternal Poison is getting a remaster.
Personally, in my opinion, I just think we need a persona, one or two remake or both I don’t think we need a persona 4 remake kuz 1 It’s easily assessable in two I really wouldn’t want them to change the voice cast Of those characters, especially in my opinion, when it comes to yosuke Hanamura they do a persona for remake, they will have to do I would want them to do the persona four golden version and not the original because I love that character Marie she was a really amazing character and she brought a lot to the game so if they were to remake and not add her in there because they want to copy the original like they did with persona three reload it would be a missed opportunity. At least I would feel like I’m missing a certain portion of the game unless they want to add it as DLC, which I really don’t recommend in my opinion unless they want to expand that character even further

If Atlus can remake Persona 4 without ruining Naoto's character, and remake Persona 2 without changing the optional gay pairing then Atlus will have proven that they really can improve perfection Although Persona 4 Golden is still my favorite and I don't think there is anything wrong with it, as long as they stay true to the original games intentions it will only be an improvement, and I know there are very many people who are holding out for a remake despite my feelings that one is not necessary, though just because it isn't necessary doesn't mean there is a downside. Lastly, I'm playing Persona 3 Reload right now, I was holding out on a remake for that so this is my first time experiencing Persona 3, and I may be wrong but I haven't heard anything about Reload being unfaithful to Persona 3, with rumors of content like the answer DLC in the works I think Atlus has got the memo.
As someone thats first persona game was persona 4 golden on steam and then went back to play persona 3 FES on a ps2 emulator, I believe that golden has aged SIGNIFICANTLY better than 3/FES and doesnt need a remaster. Id rather have persona 1/2 on steam and modern consoles.
I think P2 surely deserves it more, but P4 would be the easiest to do considering how different P2's gameplay and plot flow are. I feel like a good P4 remake could be done first to get it out of the way since it's probably mainly gonna be a visual upgrade and small gameplay/story changes, making it easy to do first and get more profit for probably more taxing P2 remake. I hope for P2 they keep the gameplay and story structure to P2 faithful to it's original. It is a different era of Persona and I'd like it to remain faithful to that era. And I hope for P4 they freshen up the story a bit. Like I firmly believe since the game is about a murder mystery, you should be allowed to fail certain dungeons and have that drastically effect your playthrough/endings/environment. Like for sure you have to finish Yukiko's to round out the Zio, Bufu, Garu and Agi party, but Kanji and Rise can be failed and it drastically effects morale and Inaba on a narrative level, while also gameplay since you'd be down Kanji and Rise, thus Teddie would also stay your Navi. You fail Kubo or Naoto, you're locked out of the true ending due to how their characters effect putting together the evidence and removing the teachers death from the original killer respectively. If they add in cut content like the Yosuke romance I won't really care either way, but a P4 remake should at least give a point of character growth past his weird digs at Kanji regardless, cause those jokes weren't really funny even back when the game back then. Not saying to flat out remove them but eh. It's whatever.

Besides remaking, I would love to see remasters and collections. I dont see why they can't release the orginal PS1 personas in a collection. More importantly, it is weird HOW MANY SMT GAMES are still stuck on the now dead 3ds. We are talking about an entire catalog of games we no longer have access too. Also, the SMT V remaster and release on other platforms should be something we are seeing in the works by now.
Also also, I personally wouldnt mind a persona 4 remake. It really does feel like an old game when you play it and I would love to see P5R style updates added to an already great game. I think in a perfect Atlus world, we would have both remakes and remasters available.

Unfortunately, the leaker said that 4 will be getting a full remake and, as for 2, it'll just be barebones ports of the PSP remasters. I presume that the bare minimum is the most that we can hope for nowadays, tho I'm doubtful that these will be getting a worldwide release, if the leak is indeed true.
Theres 2 insider, Midori (the one that said its a remake) and Hero (the one that said its a remaster), Midori has never been wrong before, id trust her over Hero, most of the comments ive seen was people saying they (Hero) had a track records of being wrong before and just copies what Midori said.
@@twinautomata9445 I would also be inclined to say that if the P2 remake/remaster is going to be a worldwide product, it isn't just going to be a port of the PSP versions. Keep in mind that the PSP version of Eternal Punishment never released in English. It only has a fan-translation at the moment and lacks English voices. If they're just going to port over the PSP versions, does that mean that they're going to finally do an official translation of EP PSP? Are they going to re-dub all the lines with the same VAs from IS PSP? Are they going to replace all the VAs and re-dub? It seems like it would be quite a bit of work for a port. I'd say the most likely outcome is that either P2 is getting a full remake or the P2 duology is getting Japan-only ports like the OP implied.

Mostly because there are no social links and they likely see it as a tremendous driving force behind the popularity of the modern trio. Not to mention Hitler being in the game. I just can't see it not being a sup'd up port.
The leaker did say they have a mystery PS2 remaster, so there is a chance. Also this year is the 20th anniversary of the game and they did release the soundtrack.
Persona 1 and 2 definitely deserve and need it more but I wouldn't be mad at a P4 remake as well! But I also hope that we get P6 before that, I am kinda annoyed by these spin offs and remakes and milking that franchise, I just want a new experience!
I know people think P4 doesn't need a remake. But when I look at how many issues Reload fixes from the original. It just makes those similar issues in 4 annoy me more, and wish they were fixed too. So I would love a P4 remake.
Only thing I'm hesitant with for P4 is recasting. P3R voice work has been great but... I love Chie's voice in P4G, I would be a bit disappointed with a new voice for her (though P4G is already a recast so..). But I would still love to see a remake.
@@Soooooooooooonicabledon't forget about P1, which I think needs to be remade first as P2 is not a standalone like 3-5 it is a direct sequel to P1 with 90% of the cast returning kind of like arena 3 of them are also party members so without 1 it would cause some problems in a narrative sense where they reference things most players won't know about or they do it like the re2 remake which makes certain plot elements more vague

With Persona 4 Golden being my most favorite Persona game to date I'd LOVE a remake. I'd throw money down on that baby easily. ^_^ Considering I dropped Persona 1 just a few hours into the game and it became one of the few games I regret buying, a Persona 2 remaster doesn't get me excited. Maybe a remake would be cool but it'd have to change A LOT for me to be interested like get rid of the random encounters and change up the gameplay to be more like the most recent Persona games...maybe do the same for the demon recruitment thing too cause that sucked in P1 a lot and based on watching my cousin play P2, it didn't change much so yeah.
Persona 4 Golden remake is a dream come true for me. The current game for P4 is already great... but the upgraded graphics, game mechanics, and few tweaks on it will make this game more epic! The P4 storyline is my favorite from Persona 3,4,5. I can even close my eyes on the fact that P4 didn't had a female protagonist at all haha.
I would like to play SMT5 on my PS4, I don't care if it an enhanced or direct port. I am for new games but would like some remakes/remasters from the SMT(and some other Megaten) games....not just Persona.
I love P4, it's my fav game of all time. It doesn't need a remake, we need a Persona 2 or 1 remake. P4 is fine as is. I thought the same as P3, and even with reload, I still believe it didn't need one. But hey, I'm not complaining, it's still a plus and enjoyable.
we have p4golden on all platforms now finally. it looks amazing, not sure what a "remaster" could even do. seems redundant. hype to see what they do with p2, id assume most people think like me on this but p3-p5 is all accessible and up to what i would call "current standards" set by p5. i think most people really want p1-2 or even smt: if remade to that standard. personally have yet to get into the smt series (blasphemy i know), but most of them are locked on like the ps2 or nintendo ds. would like to see those remade. soul hackers 2 is cool but devil summoner and sh1 are not available easily too. tldr: p4 remake seems redundant, resources probably would have been better spent revitalizing older more outdated entries in the series.
I just want to play these older games on current systems wish includes Persona 1 and 2IS/EP, SMT 1, 2, if..., 4, 4A, SJ, and 5, DDS1+2, Devil Summoner/Soul Hackers, etc. I don't care if they are remakes, remasters, or even direct ports.
I bet P4 Remake will be called either the meme, Persona 4ever Golden or P4Golden Memories. And would be cool if collectors edition was called Midnight Channel edition or Junes Edition, lol.
Though, according to the rumors, P2 is seemingly planed to only get a remaster rather than a full remake. If true then it has to be some kind of sick joke. P4 is still perfectly playable and readily available, and yet it is still remade. Meanwhile the one most desperate in the need of an overhaul will get what amounts to a basic face-lift, which I bet on that this "remastering" will just be a very basic port with some poor AI upscaling or something of that nature. And given Atlus' track record, I would not be surprised in the slightest.
I just finished Persona 4 golden Last week, still in awe of the game. Its a bit dated, but its not exactly unplayable. P3 Portable was not playable these days on PC. Persona 2 would be interesting, havent seen anything from it, having being introduced to the series by Persona 5 on PS4.

Atlus discovered the infinite money glitch by doing simultaneous worldwide releases, ports and making remakes, who would've thought that when you actually do what your fans are asking you will get more $$$.

I think 4 is a no brainer despite a lot of fans thinking we have so much of 4 already. That game is so tied to 3 in a ying and yang sort of way and a lot of enemy models done for 3 reload can be directly dropped into 4 remake.

It’s weird cause P4 doesn’t need a remake, but now it will be the only modern one without the new and improved graphics and new in game systems which might lead to newer people not playing it (if they haven’t already played the port). P2 on the other hand could use one, unsure how they’d go about it tho. Would be very weird seeing it in P5 graphics so I agree just some quality of life improvements and a modern console to play it on would be great!

I notice whenever anyone talks about a “P2 remake” it’s never about an IS or EP remake. It’s always just P2 in general. That being said, I’m wondering if that means IS and EP are going to be out together as one game. I could maybe see it given that EP reuses a crapton of assets from IS, and the two games were put together as one on the remake survey. Then again, I find it hard to believe that Atlus would give up the money that would come from selling both separately. Either way, if P2 remake actually does happen, I’m crossing my fingers that WWII Germany leader is not censored any more than he was in the PSP version.
Ya I hope that if they remake it (they should, more ¥ for them) they have those 2 remakes as just 1 game.

I don't know about Persona 4. I feel like there's nothing more to add with Golden other than the graphics and maybe, theurgy and shift? Also voice acting with social links i guess? Other than that, it's already perfect as it is.

Now, Persona 2 on the other hand is a different story. Tatsuya and Maya deserves the remake so more people play their story.
P3 is modeled basically after p5, if there is a p4 remake, I would assume it would come out after p6, and that it would geared towards adding things that p6 adds

The dungeons have not aged well. Given how they are reflections of the cast, it would greatly benefit them to craft each one more like Persona 5 rather than randomly generated corridors with different skins.

P4 definitely needs one. I find it hard to get into after playing 5. After playing Reload, it is clear 4 could benefit from the same treatment.

Why do people keep saying we don’t need a P4 remake? It’s got problems that need fixing and right now we have to make sure the big three of the persona series all get the high quality graphic treatment. I know appearances aren’t everything but first impressions matter
I can understand why p1 and p2 might not get p3re style remakes. For p2, i honestly want a graphical upgrade, more social interactions with the team, and more useage of the rumor mechanic. For p1, outside of the qol changes, graphical upgrade, social interactions with the other characters(there are so many of them) and new game+. And yes, while p4 might not need a remake, it would be 100% awesome to play it with a graphical upgrade and qol changes and maybe reworking maries story a little bit so it flows a little better and doesnt feel as tacked on. Im definitely excited to see what comes of these rumors.
P2 more social interaction? Nahh p2 have way more flesh out characters they react to every minor change even when you go to new places they have something to say... It would be stupid for them to change already perfect story

Given Persona 5 Royal, Atlus clearly still doesn't have any damn idea how to add a new character to a pre-existing story and make them better fit the narrative. Despite nearly all of Royal's marketing focusing on Yoshizawa, she barely features in the game before the epilogue; and every time she shows up in the story BEFORE the epilogue feels tacked on so they can justify using her in the marketing.

I'm in the camp that outside of maybe a graphics update there isn't much I'd change about P4G. It already has a ton of content, the combat mechanics hold up, and a ton of time is spent deep diving into the characters to the point where I don't even feel like we need special episodes or anything like that. I'd rather they focus on 1&2 and then maybe some older SMT games.
I think p4 could benefit from gameplay updates and that the dungeons could greatly benefit from a p5 palace treatment. Other than that though I mostly agree. I think that having Inaba in updated graphics though would make it an even more enjoyable experience especially for the ambience or things like the rain and fog. I think it has more potential as a remake than p3 did, because in my opinion p3 benefited slightly from the kind of drab aesthetic the original had based on it's graphics.
Yep graphics, dungeons and combat system bringing up to same level as P3 reload.
They might rerecord the voice acting, but they did re record it for golden. But they might do it yet again. But they could also probably get away with reusing alot of it with maybe a couple of pick up lines, if they could get the cast back for a shorter recording session.
Still seems like a huge undertaking. But it's probably worth doing.
P4 does need a remake but not now maybe after p6 p1 and p2 would be really hard to remake to todays modern style and mechanics

Yes, but SMT is developed by diffirent dev team, not P-Studio. You should ask Team Maniax why they doing absolute nothing since SMT V (exluding Etrian Odyssey HD 1-3 Remaster).

Lot of people saying 4 doesn't need a remake, seem to forget that the worse aspect of the game was its combat, and repetitiveness.
A remake would help this and flush out the combat much more, just like 5R and reload and therefore make the game significantly better.
The 4 remake would no doubt, be the best complete experience of Persona 4 there's ever been.
As a massive persona 4 fan I really don’t think it needs remaking. The visuals of golden perfectly capture the feeling of the game being set in a quiet rural town. A remake would just lose the amazing charm persona 4 has. Golden doesn’t have as many issues of certain mechanics not holding up to modern standards (such as not being able to control party members in 3) and golden is readily available on all platforms unlike 3 which just had portable which was not definitive like golden is. I’d rather they put time making anything else Over a persona 4 remake.

What's up with people not caring/wanting a remake of older persona games??? It's always good to upgrade the graphics, add some new things etc. The only reason i didn't play P3 was because it was so old, and for P4 the old graphics also bothered me. I always cheer for remakes/remaster.

Nice! *P2: Eternal Punishment is my favorite Persona game.* Now, if Atlus is re-doing that, I hope they keep the original darker OST, even if remastered. I hope they don’t give it the same digital techno pop or Hip Hop treatment of their newer titles (like Reload). Moreover, I hope they keep the battle system closer to the original (PS1) release. I’ve yet to play my *Innocent Sin* on PSP (has been on my years' long backlog), so playing both remastered together would be awesome.

Given the fact that The Caligula Effect was born from the formula of Persona 2, it'll make sense if it's just a port. A Persona 4 remake would work, as long as they kept Johnny Yong Bosch as Yu (Since he has voiced roles in games aside from Persona 4/Golden)
I hope Atlus Remake Persona 1, 2 Q1, or Q2. I also hope they give some love to SMT as well.
Since P1 and P2 duology feels more like a SMT than modern Persona, they can use the Smt4 and Smt5 mechanics and quality of life, but with a Persona skin, for the remasters and remakes.
My favorite thing about a possible Persona 4 remake is the fact that it is a complete game and they don't need to add any content at all so they could THEORETICALLY use the original voice lines like Konami is doing with the MGS 3 Remake Delta. I know I shouldn't get my hopes up but it would be sick if it was just a graphics and gameplay update while making as minimal changes as possible.
I can see P2 coming before P4. P2 is a duology, so I think that would take more work.

Playing Persona 4 after Persona 5 was very jarring. It threw me off when there was no Baton Pass. And the battles overall felt off to me. I am newer to Persona, so that’s probably why it didn’t feel right. I’ve been liking P3 Reload so far. Definitely has more P5 mechanics, and it’s a blast to play. I still think P5 is a better game because of the Zelda like dungeons with the Palaces, but that’s just a personal preference. Zelda is my favorite series, but with its recent shift in game design, idk if I can be on board with the series going forward after TotK. Persona is a perfect example of changing things up while also sticking with their roots, and with reload, it’s becoming one of my favorite game series.
Agree completely with all of this (I grew up a big zelda fan but not into the newer open world ones) I too played persona 4 golden after 5 royal & it felt off. Ironically I later would play P3Fes & enjoyed it more than golden. Now I'm playing Reload & it's amazing especially after seeing the original

I can't believe the leaker this time. Persona 4 Golden is available on every platform and plays great still, while the persona 2 games are so radically different from the modern games that it's probably risky to rebuild them from the ground up when you don't know if people will be cool with no social links.
Persona 3 got reload because the only way to play it on the last two console generations was p3p, which isn't exactly exciting for newer fans coming off of p5 royal.
I know people are saying P4G doesn't *NEED* a remake, but there's plenty they could do if they wanted to get creative.
If you're only thinking small scale stuff like voice acting for social links & P5 style graphics, it doesn't seem worth the effort. But they could go deeper & do more interesting things like make the dungeons more than just winding hallways & rooms. They could actually expand them to be more unique & varied like P5 palaces, with their own puzzles & verticality to go along with their themes.
There's obviously the less involved stuff like baton pass/shifting that could be added, but if Atlus really wanted to, they could go deeper with a P4 remake. Then again, they'd probably remake the OG Persona 4 and leave Golden content as DLC... just to piss people off 😅
No they wouldn't. It makes complete sense why the extra content for P3 is dlc considering one was a seperate expansion outside of the main game and the alternate female route is essentially a second game. All the extra content in golden is integrated in the main game so if a p4 remake is to be made then you can expect all the content to be in the game.
Last I heard Netflix has a multi-game deal with Atlus and one of them is an SMT game.
I hope it’s p4 golden with added stuff.

I feel like they might do a direct port of P1 with a few minimal QoL like with the P3P / P4G switch & other console ports. I’d think that P2 could get the P3Reload treatment with maybe adding something like the Link episodes to give more character interactions rather than having to completely add in S Links when there weren’t there already.
I’d really like a current console / pc version of these past games since I haven’t played them much besides trying & not continuing with emulated versions, & i want to support more Persona games getting released.
They are not just gonna port 1 it's too much money on the table, plus it won't sell especially with the new Gen persona fans

P4G may not need a remake but it should still be cool imo. Especially when you consider the modern Persona trio with Reload, P4G is the least modern.
I never played P2IS/EP and played a little bit of P1. The looks of it I would like a full on remake with QoL features . Perhaps even 1 more system or press turn system. It should definitely get an update look and not just be yet another remaster.

It seems that she replied later on saying that P1 also exists and "not all will be like Reload Style. And an Atlus PS2 game will get a Remaster version" so that means Eternal Poison is getting a remaster.

Personally, in my opinion, I just think we need a persona, one or two remake or both I don’t think we need a persona 4 remake kuz 1 It’s easily assessable in two I really wouldn’t want them to change the voice cast Of those characters, especially in my opinion, when it comes to yosuke Hanamura they do a persona for remake, they will have to do I would want them to do the persona four golden version and not the original because I love that character Marie she was a really amazing character and she brought a lot to the game so if they were to remake and not add her in there because they want to copy the original like they did with persona three reload it would be a missed opportunity. At least I would feel like I’m missing a certain portion of the game unless they want to add it as DLC, which I really don’t recommend in my opinion unless they want to expand that character even further

If Atlus can remake Persona 4 without ruining Naoto's character, and remake Persona 2 without changing the optional gay pairing then Atlus will have proven that they really can improve perfection
Although Persona 4 Golden is still my favorite and I don't think there is anything wrong with it, as long as they stay true to the original games intentions it will only be an improvement, and I know there are very many people who are holding out for a remake despite my feelings that one is not necessary, though just because it isn't necessary doesn't mean there is a downside.
Lastly, I'm playing Persona 3 Reload right now, I was holding out on a remake for that so this is my first time experiencing Persona 3, and I may be wrong but I haven't heard anything about Reload being unfaithful to Persona 3, with rumors of content like the answer DLC in the works I think Atlus has got the memo.
As someone thats first persona game was persona 4 golden on steam and then went back to play persona 3 FES on a ps2 emulator, I believe that golden has aged SIGNIFICANTLY better than 3/FES and doesnt need a remaster.
Id rather have persona 1/2 on steam and modern consoles.

I think P2 surely deserves it more, but P4 would be the easiest to do considering how different P2's gameplay and plot flow are. I feel like a good P4 remake could be done first to get it out of the way since it's probably mainly gonna be a visual upgrade and small gameplay/story changes, making it easy to do first and get more profit for probably more taxing P2 remake.
I hope for P2 they keep the gameplay and story structure to P2 faithful to it's original. It is a different era of Persona and I'd like it to remain faithful to that era.
And I hope for P4 they freshen up the story a bit. Like I firmly believe since the game is about a murder mystery, you should be allowed to fail certain dungeons and have that drastically effect your playthrough/endings/environment.
Like for sure you have to finish Yukiko's to round out the Zio, Bufu, Garu and Agi party, but Kanji and Rise can be failed and it drastically effects morale and Inaba on a narrative level, while also gameplay since you'd be down Kanji and Rise, thus Teddie would also stay your Navi.
You fail Kubo or Naoto, you're locked out of the true ending due to how their characters effect putting together the evidence and removing the teachers death from the original killer respectively.
If they add in cut content like the Yosuke romance I won't really care either way, but a P4 remake should at least give a point of character growth past his weird digs at Kanji regardless, cause those jokes weren't really funny even back when the game back then. Not saying to flat out remove them but eh. It's whatever.
Persona 1 and 2 will be really hard to remake those games have no social links or anything

Besides remaking, I would love to see remasters and collections. I dont see why they can't release the orginal PS1 personas in a collection. More importantly, it is weird HOW MANY SMT GAMES are still stuck on the now dead 3ds. We are talking about an entire catalog of games we no longer have access too. Also, the SMT V remaster and release on other platforms should be something we are seeing in the works by now.
Also also, I personally wouldnt mind a persona 4 remake. It really does feel like an old game when you play it and I would love to see P5R style updates added to an already great game. I think in a perfect Atlus world, we would have both remakes and remasters available.

If a game looks dated, its up for a remake. P4 Golden looks dated and its a portable game. We need an overhaul
Unfortunately, the leaker said that 4 will be getting a full remake and, as for 2, it'll just be barebones ports of the PSP remasters.
I presume that the bare minimum is the most that we can hope for nowadays, tho I'm doubtful that these will be getting a worldwide release, if the leak is indeed true.
Theres 2 insider, Midori (the one that said its a remake) and Hero (the one that said its a remaster), Midori has never been wrong before, id trust her over Hero, most of the comments ive seen was people saying they (Hero) had a track records of being wrong before and just copies what Midori said.
@@twinautomata9445 I would also be inclined to say that if the P2 remake/remaster is going to be a worldwide product, it isn't just going to be a port of the PSP versions. Keep in mind that the PSP version of Eternal Punishment never released in English. It only has a fan-translation at the moment and lacks English voices. If they're just going to port over the PSP versions, does that mean that they're going to finally do an official translation of EP PSP? Are they going to re-dub all the lines with the same VAs from IS PSP? Are they going to replace all the VAs and re-dub? It seems like it would be quite a bit of work for a port. I'd say the most likely outcome is that either P2 is getting a full remake or the P2 duology is getting Japan-only ports like the OP implied.
A port is fine, I'm sure atlus would find some way to fuck it up if it was a remake.

Mostly because there are no social links and they likely see it as a tremendous driving force behind the popularity of the modern trio. Not to mention Hitler being in the game. I just can't see it not being a sup'd up port.

The leaker did say they have a mystery PS2 remaster, so there is a chance. Also this year is the 20th anniversary of the game and they did release the soundtrack.

Persona 1 and 2 definitely deserve and need it more but I wouldn't be mad at a P4 remake as well! But I also hope that we get P6 before that, I am kinda annoyed by these spin offs and remakes and milking that franchise, I just want a new experience!

I know people think P4 doesn't need a remake. But when I look at how many issues Reload fixes from the original. It just makes those similar issues in 4 annoy me more, and wish they were fixed too. So I would love a P4 remake.
Only thing I'm hesitant with for P4 is recasting. P3R voice work has been great but... I love Chie's voice in P4G, I would be a bit disappointed with a new voice for her (though P4G is already a recast so..). But I would still love to see a remake.

Persona 4 really does not need a remake yet. Persona 3 needed a definitive edition, Persona 4 already has a definitive edition.
This. P2 is the most deserving of a top to bottom remake. There's so much that can be improved and added.
@@Soooooooooooonicabledon't forget about P1, which I think needs to be remade first as P2 is not a standalone like 3-5 it is a direct sequel to P1 with 90% of the cast returning kind of like arena 3 of them are also party members so without 1 it would cause some problems in a narrative sense where they reference things most players won't know about or they do it like the re2 remake which makes certain plot elements more vague
P3 still doesnt have a definitive edition (and the answer did NOT need to be a dlc).

With Persona 4 Golden being my most favorite Persona game to date I'd LOVE a remake. I'd throw money down on that baby easily. ^_^
Considering I dropped Persona 1 just a few hours into the game and it became one of the few games I regret buying, a Persona 2 remaster doesn't get me excited. Maybe a remake would be cool but it'd have to change A LOT for me to be interested like get rid of the random encounters and change up the gameplay to be more like the most recent Persona games...maybe do the same for the demon recruitment thing too cause that sucked in P1 a lot and based on watching my cousin play P2, it didn't change much so yeah.
Forget remakes of P2 and P4, I'd be happy if they brought SMT4 to Steam (PC).

Persona 4 Golden remake is a dream come true for me. The current game for P4 is already great... but the upgraded graphics, game mechanics, and few tweaks on it will make this game more epic! The P4 storyline is my favorite from Persona 3,4,5. I can even close my eyes on the fact that P4 didn't had a female protagonist at all haha.
I hope they can stay motivated churning out all these remakes. We need bold new ideas for new games. I really liked SMT5.
I would like to play SMT5 on my PS4, I don't care if it an enhanced or direct port. I am for new games but would like some remakes/remasters from the SMT(and some other Megaten) games....not just Persona.

I love P4, it's my fav game of all time. It doesn't need a remake, we need a Persona 2 or 1 remake. P4 is fine as is. I thought the same as P3, and even with reload, I still believe it didn't need one. But hey, I'm not complaining, it's still a plus and enjoyable.
we have p4golden on all platforms now finally. it looks amazing, not sure what a "remaster" could even do. seems redundant.
hype to see what they do with p2, id assume most people think like me on this but p3-p5 is all accessible and up to what i would call "current standards" set by p5. i think most people really want p1-2 or even smt: if remade to that standard.
personally have yet to get into the smt series (blasphemy i know), but most of them are locked on like the ps2 or nintendo ds. would like to see those remade. soul hackers 2 is cool but devil summoner and sh1 are not available easily too.
tldr: p4 remake seems redundant, resources probably would have been better spent revitalizing older more outdated entries in the series.
I would be more exited about a remake of the first SMTs than Persona, but it's still cool.
I just want to play these older games on current systems wish includes Persona 1 and 2IS/EP, SMT 1, 2, if..., 4, 4A, SJ, and 5, DDS1+2, Devil Summoner/Soul Hackers, etc. I don't care if they are remakes, remasters, or even direct ports.

Though, according to the rumors, P2 is seemingly planed to only get a remaster rather than a full remake.
If true then it has to be some kind of sick joke. P4 is still perfectly playable and readily available, and yet it is still remade. Meanwhile the one most desperate in the need of an overhaul will get what amounts to a basic face-lift, which I bet on that this "remastering" will just be a very basic port with some poor AI upscaling or something of that nature.
And given Atlus' track record, I would not be surprised in the slightest.
I just finished Persona 4 golden Last week, still in awe of the game. Its a bit dated, but its not exactly unplayable. P3 Portable was not playable these days on PC. Persona 2 would be interesting, havent seen anything from it, having being introduced to the series by Persona 5 on PS4.
I would love a P4 remake also. BUT! No one but Johnny Yong Bosch can do the voice of Adachi! I can accept a recast for everyone else but not HIM
