A child should not live like this. Fighting between parents is the worst trauma for a kid. Even I have live with my biological parents and they always fight and their fighting stills hunts me.
Agreed, it would actually be better if the parents divorced instead of using their children to stay together, just for the children to constantly see their parents fight and think that's a way a relationship should be. And constantly questioning themselves if they are the problem
That's why communication is more important in a relationship, than having kids to make your significant other happy. If you can't communicate with your partner, don't even think about have kids. Otherwise your kids will end up hating you, for being raised by a stubborn single parent, who can't stay in a relationship.

I used to think that too but if arranged marriages when the 2 did not even know each other can be happy and blissful, then even a month of dating is sufficient. Often times it is a matter of can you accept, love, tolerate and adjust after marriage. That is much more important than what you know prior to marriage.

If you choose to tolerate them after that the fact that's different, but you cannot learn anything about anyone with only a month of dating. You're learning to settle and tolerate what you got stuck with, that is not love. Love can only come after a long period of figuring out your relationship and how to work together. You can't love anyone in only one month.
@@CrankDatJonasBoi Not necessarily as I have seen arranged marriages be happy and blissful while others who have dated for years to no avail. My sister in law’s parents were in an arranged marriage but have been happily married for 60 years. My other friend who dated her current husband for 3 years before marriage is now unhappy and wants to divorce so it just depends. My brothers best friend married only after 6 months and they are now happily married for 21 years. Therefore, it truly depends as knowing anyone well like you think beforehand does not guarantee anything. Plus, a successful marriage takes much more than just love. My main point is knowing someone for a long time before marrying them does not guarantee happiness and an everlasting marriage. You make it seem like marrying right away is always bad which it isn’t. The thing is growing with them as you progress through life after you get together is much more important as people grow and change just like you do.

Who says they get to put their happiness before the happiness of their child? When I become a mother I am ready to sacrifice all my happiness for my child. My child's happiness will become my happiness.
So what if I grow to dislike my husband? I'm sure I can tolerate him and pick up a hobby to give me happiness instead. Or a book. Or start dancing zumba.

The reason I wouldn't do an age gap larger than 5 years older or younger, is because of the generational gap there'd be past that. I know myself and I wouldn't be able to put up with someone so much older than me that they sound like a parent, or someone so young I have to take care of them like a parent. I just want a partner that can live life beside me. Learn things together.... idk that's just me though... also, a Month of dating and then a proposal??? A little precipitous.
I used to think that but I have changed as age does not necessarily mean you will act your age. Age is just a number as you learn through experiences and stuff too not just how long you lived. Dating time is one thing but whether you can adjust in the long run after you marry. I have seen couples who dated for years to no avail but arranged marriages when people did not even know each other be happy and blissful. Therefore, it just depends.

After Eli and Yeonso appeared on We Got Divorced, we learned more about their situation and not only the one side story from his wife that you shared here.
Their situation is complicated, they had financial issues, Eli couldn't find any job in Korea to support his family and that deteriorated their couple relationship...so he went to USA where his family lives and it was easier for him to find a job there. But as he was separated from his wife and son. . . they always had conflicts and one day out of the blue he asked to divorce because they just couldn't continue like that...
A discussion they had on We Got Divorced really stuck with me, Yeonso said "we should have stayed together, do you think our son is happy not to have his father by his side?" and Eli replied "but do you think he would have been happier to see his parents arguing every day? "
More of that Yeonso and Eli's mother didn't get along well and apparently his mother stole money from her, but he didn't even know about that until she mentioned it on that show.
With We Got Divorced, knetz realized that they still have a lot of affection for each other and even confessed to still love each other. That's why people want them to stick together.
Btw it seems like after that show, Eli decided to stay in Korea, apparently he found a job in a factory

But Yeonso wanted to raise his son in Korea. They kept on fighting about the situation, at the end Yeonso accepted to join him in USA but it ruined their couple relationship....at this point there was nothing left and he ask for divorce .... Yes he should have tried harder for his family. But their situation is very complex and I don't think that we, as an external person, can afford to judge them.
I feel like Eli has done enough sacrifices.

I also heard some people saw her even selling luxurious bag to support her family bcs eli having a hard time and can't find job at sk at that time. I honestly don't blame both 100%. Both of them having a hard time maintaining the relationship. Financial issue, citizenship issue, the in-laws issue. Honestly in Elis case it would be better for the two of them to just live seperately but rather not too far away from each other so they can both see their son regularly. I doubt that their child would be happy living with two parents around that either constantly fight or have a weird / cold mood around them.
I absolutely agree, and I cannot believe the amount of people I've seen in the comments shaming unhappy couples remaining together for 'the children's sake'. It's widely recognised in psychology that it is detrimental to children in those relationships to be around the only real role models they have who dislike or even hate each other. Let alone the fact that it fosters unhealthy beliefs and expectations in the developing persons mind , it can also set them up to see being abused/abusive as NORMAL rather than unhealthy or dangerous.

They were quite showy in the househusband show.. like every few minutes Eli would ask for a kiss. Didn't know he's like this tbh.. He also mentioned that he lost fans cuz of his marriage with her. Even if that's fact, what kind of a husband would say that? There were married people who stayed as his fans, he even got fans for being a father idol at such young age. Which made me had a peek of what his priorities were tbh.

I think Eli and his ex-wife got married in the first place was because she was pregnant. Considering the effort they put on the show that they were a happy couple, must be so tiring. In most Asian culture (or in general), it looks bad for someone to even be a single mother. Ji Yeon Soo first rejected Eli multiple times before they got married. Shows she never really liked him that much but decided to give it a chance. I guess that chance got her pregnant.

It's hard to see our favorite idols struggle in life to find jobs and careers after their idol lives ended. Especially in Korea, even for the most simple job the competition is astronomically high and educational background plays an important role. It's always disappointing when some former idols reappear on some reality shows about "life after being an idol" and it shows they all struggle with depression, failed marriages, problems finding jobs and thinking that they are burdens to their families.
I just want them to be happy, it's their life. Bless all. Everyone goes through different experiences and different situations. All will go to the same hole. I hope they will be happy with their life soon.

My thing with age gap relationships is as long as the older person isn't waiting for the younger to become a certain age. Aka as long as they met as adults (To me that's 21 but in the US the legal age is 18, which is still too young for me as I was still in high-school at 18)

The last one is sick. Separating children from either of their parents unless the parent is a bad parent (it didn't say she was) is awful and so selfish, especially if done for spiteful reasons. And "fans" saying a couple should stay together "for the sake of the kids" is ridiculous. My parents stayed together "for the kids" and I was like "JUST BREAK UP ALREADY" it was awful.

@@hannaansari2921 Respect is the keyword. In-laws are one's second parents. I am a parent and an in law myself. You don't speak ill of your second parents and broadcast it to the world. If and when a misunderstanding happens between me and my in laws, I will make sure I don't forget self respect so I don't regret any wrong actions.

People tend to forget that there are always two sides to a story, and the public has only really heard her side (and how she wants to portray the situation). Eli has never badmouthed her publicly and has remained quiet on their personal matters (despite the horrible things being said about him). You are right, respect truly is the keyword. Perhaps fans should ask if she was respectful toward her inlaws while she stayed with them...perhaps she is not quite the victim she claims to be. And perhaps Eli, and his family, are not the monsters she has portrayed them to be (the family is quite nice, actually). I appreciate your comment.

Eli was once my ideal type from his easygoing nature and humour even tho I stanned many 2nd gen groups but he always felt closer cause he was eng fluent obviously. I remember his departure from UKISS and sudden public marriage/child announcement like it was yesterday. I remember thinking "dang it, it had to be him out of all of them" but wow I had no idea all this happened after cause he fell off my radar from going private for a while... Didn't realise its become so public now!
