Here is something that you have probably never heard of before, Scott. In the 1950s and 1960s there was a savings account called a "Christmas Club". You would deposit 25 cents or 50 cents each week into it, and then withdraw the funds in November, to use for Christmas shopping. But, the best part of opening a "Christmas Club" account, was that the bank gave you a gift. Each year in my little hometown, the gift would be various pieces of the Anchor Hocking, American Prescut set!! They all went right into my Mother's hope chest, and in 1970 when I got married, I had dozens of pieces of the set. It has grown huge over the years, as it is readily available in thrift stores, like you said. Don't discount how lovely a table looks, set with it! I use the round platters as large dinner plates.
Really love when you insert pictures & narratives into your videos. Thanks for leaving them up long enough for me to read them without having to constantly go back. Really nice items in this one.
Um…..that is what the handle is for. 😊 Applied handles are fused to the glass and absolutely nothing wrong in picking up the glass by the handle. It’s not going to break off unless the piece was already damaged. Why would it make you cringe to pick something up by the handle?
Gorgeous home!! ;) Love the Touche lampshade, beautiful!! Hope it fits your lamp. Your dining room table and chairs are in pristine condition, very bea
Love your torches lamp. My husband and I picked up one when we got our first place over 30 years ago. It is still our favorite lamp. Love your bungalow too.
Hi Scott another awesome day thrifting wow loved all the clear glass that basket was beautiful loved the plates those would look nice for Easter always injoy watching take care
“Never pick up a lamp by its harp!”…That sounds like one of those wise old sayings. Meaning something of wisdom 😁. I’m loving the shades you found so much.
Scott , I always love and appreciate your videos .I’m always learning something….I have to say ,”I can’t believe the remarks that people make”. You shouldn’t always have to be explaining yourself. They aren’t worth your time😊
Hi, Scott ..... Great video, thank you. You got some Gems there ! That Fraunfelter Bird of Paradise vase was gorgeous. The design and shape. That photo of their whole Tea set reminded me of our Clarice Cliff style. The bright Reds, Oranges, Greens and Yellows in the big and bold designs. Just great. Wonderful couple of Glass Lightshades. Geeez, it would break my Heart to see them go. Fully understand if you haven't got anywhere to use them. And, haven't those Plates come up really great. Credit to you, Scott. Again, thanks so much. It's always a pleasure to watch and so very entertaining 👏👍😉
Irma Biebrick ? Was possibly a china painter from Alberta 🇨🇦 I used to have some of her mugs and a vase, but donated them to charity shop when we moved.
Thank you for another nice video Scott I love the bird of paradise really beautiful. I also like the lampshade. Very nice. Great, seeing Salem reminds me of my cat Rachel 🐈⬛🙂
Oh wow! What a great torchiere lamp shade. You are 100% correct- my daughter ran through the house and down came my grandma’s lamp. I was heartbroken, but my daughter probably felt worse. I found a replacement shade after many years. It will never be as good as grandma’s. I also bought a reducer for the light bulb socket. It was too annoying with those mogul bulbs. Great find 😊
Loved this video! It's been one of those days, and hanging out with you at thrift was what I needed to brighten my day! The pic of the Fraunfelter breakfast set is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing, Scott!
Wow Zanesville Ohio sure was the place to wrk back in the day. Many nice items came out of there. My father in law was born there and his family still resides there. The vintage store I wrk and consign at, is now selling the reproduction jadeite made from old molds from fire king etc from Mosser glass family owned. Check it out I JUST divided my snake plants…AGAIN. I Sure wish I could send you some. (Started with one now I have 5!)
Another successful thrifting day. Beautiful torchiere shade. The clear bottom looks thicker than the ones I have. Wonder if it’s not standard torchiere size.
I thought the lamp shade was beautiful. Could a person not use those plates for an afternoon tea with special friends? Easter is coming. They would be perfect.🤗🐰
My Mom has those pastel plates, I'll have to remember to check the back for identifying marks!---Fancy you finding a named dish pattern that I've never seen or heard of before!
Thanks for bringing us along on your shopping trip, great finds. I was wondering why you didn't just leave the china cabinet as is through Valentines Day. You could always tuck in a few vintage Valentines cards to reinforce the theme. Or...maybe a Boston fern?
Sure I could leave it alone for now. Typically, I have never “decorated” my home for Valentine’s Day so it’s no big deal for me to change it out now. 😊
@@oldcuriosityshop265 I think that it looks very nice the way it is, like roses and pearl. Oh dear, I must be becoming romantic in my old age! I can't wait to see what you do for Easter, l'll bet you will look cute in your bunny suit! LOL. Looking forward to more videos.
The 3 light candle stick we have talked about before. I have one that belonged to my grandparents. Maybe you could tell me did they come in pairs and if so was there some type of center piece?
Scott, could you please show the type of lamp that takes the first shade you purchased in this video? You picked up some very interesting pieces. I am looking forward to Monday evening!
Both EAPG early American pressed glass category. I know this pattern as 'Star of David' from Anckor Hawking... I see it listed many places as American pressed glass??? Hmmm?
No. Anchor Hocking never called that pattern “star of David”. The correct name given to the glass by Anchor Hocking is “Early American Prescut”. You will see it listed on EBay often as “star of David” but this is a name given to the glass by some collectors and not the official name chosen by Anchor Hocking. To further complicate matters….neither Wexford or Hocking’s Early American Prescut are examples of EAPG. Early American Pattern Glass was manufactured roughly from 1850 to 1920. 😊
@@oldcuriosityshop265 Ok makes sense, thanks! Now let's talk about brilliant and elegant cut glass to make it even more confusing! lol!?! I have so many single pieces of EAPG butter dishes, creamers and sugars. I love randomly hunting and finding the mates, lids etc.
Torch shade is just great. Moving is not easy. Every time l move, l swear l will never do it again. Here l know everything, but when l move l will be learning all over again. Maybe l won't have to worry about my stalker. I will try to keep positive ✨ 🙏 🙂 24/7!!!!!😇💗💜💙💘💌💟🤖💝🤑💕💞🤍💓💖💔🤎😇💗💜💙💘💌💟🤖💝🤑💕💞🤍💓💖💔🤎🤲😇💗💜💙💘💌💟🤖💝🤑💔💖💓🤍💞💕🤲
Thank you for highlighting my comment. Whatever happens it might be better for me. It seems like all l do here is watch TV, watch my tablet and ignore my house. But it's just another winter in a state that I have lived in all my life. At this age you never think about moving that far from your family. 🤲💕💞💞🤍💓💓💖💖💔💔🤑🤑💝💝🤖🤎😇💗💜💜💙💘💘💌💌💟🤲💕💕💞🤍🤍💜💓💖💖💔🤑🤑💝💝🤖🤎🤎😇😇💗💗💗💗💜💜💙💙💙💘💘💌💌💌💟🤲🤲💕💞💞🤍🤍💓💖💖💔💔💔🤑🤑💝🤖🤎🤎🤎😇💗💜

Oh yes indeed my grandmother always participated in Christmas Club at the bank!
I remember opening up Christmas Club accounts for customers when I worked in a bank back in the mid 1980s.
Really love when you insert pictures & narratives into your videos. Thanks for leaving them up long enough for me to read them without having to constantly go back. Really nice items in this one.
Love the four pretty decorative plates 💕
I was hoping that shade fit one of your lamps 😊. So very pretty ☺️.
We love you Scott, that's why we watch you!😊❤
A Wonderful Thrift-Along and Haul❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. The Pastel plates are awesome for Easter. GREAT VIDEO AND GREAT CONTENT. THUMBS-UP ALWAYS!!!!!
“Erma Bombeck”!? 🤣
She would have appreciated that.
She could always make me chuckle.
I know you know more than I ever possibly could, but cringing when you picked up the basket by the applied handle.
Um…..that is what the handle is for. 😊 Applied handles are fused to the glass and absolutely nothing wrong in picking up the glass by the handle. It’s not going to break off unless the piece was already damaged. Why would it make you cringe to pick something up by the handle?
Thanx for sharing. 🐈⬛
I was wondering where my previous comment was--i posted it in the wrong place!🤪 Glad you found it, Scott!

The torchiere lampshade is beautiful. Hope you find that it fits one of your lamps!
That lamp shade ,and big basket was really nice. it was a nice shop along video.
That basket is big enough to be an ice bucket. It's very pretty though. ❤
Looks like Irma Reinhold on the vase.
Some people I know would love to buy the beautiful clear glass triple candle holder at 11:45 even if just one!
Beautiful things. Love it all, XOXO, SALEM
‘Irma Reinholt’ lol
Love that tourchere lampshade.
I palm would like nice in that green pot and put it on a 1920s plant stand :)

Thanks for taking me along shopping. See ya Monday night
That was fun and very full information
I can see why you liked the Fraunfelter coffee set.Fabulously sophistocated.
Irma Biebrick ? Was possibly a china painter from Alberta 🇨🇦
I used to have some of her mugs and a vase, but donated them to charity shop when we moved.
That second one was a zipper Vase. Loved it.the console was lovely. The basket maybe Duncan Miller ? Then you said Duncan Miller.
Zipper and jewel by McKee! Yeah!
Love the pretty pastel plates for breakfast nook decor. Hope you can find a vintage short plant stand for the gorgeous green pot!
I do love looking at things on your porch. Those plates are lovely and so is that very special lampshade!
Great video Scotty! Thanks for sharing!
Scott great pieces love the glass replacements
Nice finds!
Hi, Scott , Oh my ,that torch lamp shade is beautiful!
I feel like many people are getting rid of their Rae Dunn. It's great if you have it and like it but I prefer older items.
Thank you for another nice video Scott I love the bird of paradise really beautiful. I also like the lampshade. Very nice. Great, seeing Salem reminds me of my cat Rachel 🐈⬛🙂
I always seem to get the wonky cart in most stores. Loved the bird of paradise bowl even though I thought it should have lid.

Nice thrifting. I love the 4 little pastel plates. So dainty looking.
Scott your so right about that dishware that has language on it. Don't like it either.
Enjoyed this video! Love the commentary and the information you provide.

As always, fun, educational and entertaining. ❤. I am very interested in the colored metal tumblers. Can’t wait to see when you sell them. ❤

Watch through to the end of the video and you shall see. :)
I did! Thank you.
Do you remember: "May the bird of paradise fly up your nose!" ?.
Yassssssssssss!!!!!!
0:36 You mean 'Wexford' and 'Star of David' Patterns. The are both in the American Press cut category...right?

Sorry, used too hunt, it's been so long I've forgotten what's what? I found it over whelming trying to learn.
That was andy
Scott, have you ever found a Wooton desk out in the wild? That's my holy grail at a beer money price😋
I LOVE Wooton desk and have never ever seen one for sale in the wild. Such an amazing design!
I believe that was Raggedy Andy not Ann?
Those Crooksville plates have really eye-catching pastel borders! Are you keeping those lampshades or are they going up for sale in the OCS?
For Sale! 😀
Hi Scott, I would like to purchase from you those tin glasses made in Italy. How much would you sell to me for?
I did not buy them actually.
Seeing a lot of Rae Dunn at GW and they are putting big prices on it. Don’t know how you can make money even if you did sell it.
Great sale last night Scott! Do you ship to Canada?
Yes I do!
Old frann
Bla bla rae dunn
One item I absolutely will never purchase in a thrift store is a fluffy stinky sofa. Ewe
Where's Andy? I believe that was Raggedy Andy.
Another fruitful trip.
