The lyrics of this song, the poetry is written by a muslim sufi saint of punjab (currently Pakistan), Baba Bullay Shah, so actually its not sikh song. But the singer is sikh. The poetry is islamic sufism thats why you got reference of Moses and Pharon.
Baba Bulleh Shah R.A is a Islmic Sufi Saint and his last resting place is in Pakistani Punjab..
He wrote this poem and various others In Punjabi language...
