  • Capitol Reef is the most overlooked National Park in the Mighty 5 of Utah. This hidden gem contains sweeping views, colorful cliffs, and much-needed solitude. Join me as we spend 24 hours exploring the beautiful Capitol Reef on my solo road trip of Utah!

I didn't know what to expect out of Capitol Reef and it completely amazed me! The scenic drive was by far one of my favorite things to do in the park, with the many trails and viewpoints also making a lasting impression, especially Hickman Bridge and Chimney Rock.
If you're lucky enough to tackle the Mighty 5 as a whole package on this epic road trip, make sure you don't sleep on the section of driving between Capitol Reef and Bryce Canyon! We're wrapping up this leg of the trip with Scenic Byway 12, which could be a destination all on its own.
    Places in this video:
    Capitol Reef National Park
    Grand Wash Trail
    Hickman Natural Bridge Trail
    Fruita District and Campground
    The Scenic Drive
    Capitol Gorge Trail
    The Tanks
    Panorama Point
    Goosenecks Point Trail
    Sunset Point Trail
    The Castle Viewpoint
    Chimney Rock Trail
    Scenic Byway 12
Views of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument
Thank you so much for hanging out with me in Capitol Reef and exploring some of the natural wonders of Utah. Videos you'll see soon are my Bryce Canyon and Zion vlogs, a bunch of videos for my Backpacking for Beginners series, and a handful of vlogs for my April Vlogging challenge.
See you here next time! 😊
    Happy adventuring,
    A

This makes me even more sad that I got sick the weekend I was supposed to go camping and hiking in Utah a couple weeks ago. 😭 I love how there aren't a ton of people on the trails. Thanks for sharing these stunning views with us! 💚

Noooo, you have to be kidding me! 😩 You've gotta reschedule and make it out there! I'm so sorry you ended up being sick. I do hope you make it when you're feeling better

@@AprilAdventuring It was rough. 😞 Now, I'm too busy with work so I'll have to put it off until May. Sigh. Here's hoping this body of mine - and the weather - will cooperate.

My mother grew up just south of Torrey on a ranch the family still owns. Capitol Reef is my favorite Utah park. Been there over 1000 times, even though I live in Connecticut. My great-grandfather was one of the founders of Torrey. Thanks for letting me know the scenic drive (which was Highway 24 until it was moved to follow the Fremont River in 1962) will be closed. I was planning to drive it when I'm out there in June.

Awesome April Adventuring! Putting together the details for our trip. These help tremendously. We will drive to Moab and use that as a base camp for 3 days, and then to the west side of the state and camp for another week or so, before heading home.

I was in Capitol Reef just after you this year! I did the Lower Muley Twist Loop on the south end of the park! Capitol Reef is becoming one of my favorite national parks! Looks like you had a good visit! I will have to check out Capitol Gorge, I have not been in that area. Thanks for the preview!
