@@prohunter717 that’s fair, there’s decent stuff out there for the price, the Wan’er is probably a safe bet as the other guy said, the iem’s themselves are pretty sturdy, in my experience the cables are the weak point in the long run, one side will end up with a bad connection, but if you’re able to save up after purchasing a cheap cheap set, the difference in what you get for 10 bucks vs 50 is pretty significant
Same request with different wording: Can you make a video that will be outdated within the next few months at the minimum? Mostly joking, but the sub-$50 range has been going crazy the past year, and it's great to see. Just sucks for anyone trying to make videos on the category, since it makes the videos age like milk.
My fav IEMs. Fatfreq Maestro SE and Unique Melody Mext. Warm clear and lots of low end bass/sub bass without messing with vocals. Just beautiful. Sometimes I turn on XBass II on my IFI gryphon with the fatfreqs for movies and watching anime. Feels like you are at a movie theater lol
I fully expect the lists to devolve into what is "really" warm, neutral etc. but good video none the less! I like when you can highlight IEMs that are lesser known or a bit older. Personally I would put the JVC HA-FDX1 in the bass category, still the best bass of my collection, easily. For overall warm, I like the Tangzu Wu Zetian OG the best, though I will give an honorable mention to the Final E-series and QOA Vesper.
funny because for me the Chu II are not shouty at all, but the Starfield II are and a lot... maybe because my ears are 52 years old?! :)) thanks for the video
You wont man, best bass ive ever heard , it is my most expensive iem and my best, just beware of the fit, make sure you do indeed have big ears for the ier z1r to fit, if not look for another option
There are some really expensive sets here. Thank you Timmy for finally unintentionally explaining what V shape is it's a pokey base with pokey treble and the midst down in the middle making AV finally thank you.
2:09 sadly 7th Acoustics Proxima is discontinued ;( I was trying to get them in an audio store but they told me that it's sold out + 7th Acoustics confirmed it
Does anyone know the nozzle size of the Dunu Titan Ultra? I have small ear canals and use spinfit SS, so larger nozzles don't fit and are uncomfortable e.g. Truthear Zero:Red are too large for me while Moondrop Starfield fits perfectly
In the category Bright Neutral, there's one ancient underappreciated IEM that imo is even better than the Anole VX, which is the Jomo Flamenco 2017 version. Till this day, it's still my no.1 IEM, very intense-sounding but the extreme details are seductive. Haven't listened to the Annihilator (both 2021 & 2023 version) so can't comment on that one but having owned both the VX and Flamenco, I can confidently say that Flamenco is the better btw the 2 when it comes to details, though VX is better in the bass and the soundstage.
I hate "Harman" signature not because I think it is not good, but I think that there is too much IEMs with this same signature on the market and I am sick of that.
Good video. I'm new in the hobby can you make a best budget iem with different sound signatures. $200 and less best. Some of the iems here is just unattainable.
Can you recommend me the best IEM with some good bass , clear sound quality and decent enough vocals . I usually listen to Hip-pop, pop, and bollywood songs. I have 5 options : 7hz Salnotes zero, Tangzu Wan'er, KZN ZSN PRO X ,qkz x hbb and Simgot EW100 DSP
I haven't found my favorite IEM yet. I have bought Thieaudio Oracle but I am really not impressed. I own also KZ AS24 and I like the stage and details very much but I cannot get use to the tuning, even if I am using tunable version of this IEM. I like tunning of Blessing 2 Dusk very much but I feel a little insufficiency of details. I am waiting for Moondrop Dark Saber but I am little worried they would be a little dark one. I am very grateful that You named all types of sound signatures with examples! Thanks Tommy!
What is this music at the end? Is supposed to be ironic? Is this the music the cartoon characters on all the iem boxes listen to? I appreciate the recommendations.
so what kinda signature would be best/more enjoyable for jrock/shoe gaze? lots of guitar, woman vocals, and a bunch of sharp noises. I use crinacle zero iems currently. they're good since I listen to all type of music and play games with them, but looking to see if I can start listening to my rock flacs with more detail.
try to equip your zeroes with extra wide bore tips like TRI Clarion or JVC Spiral Dot++ and see if you like the added brightness. Personally, i really like that kind of signature for rock, metal.
@@scarletvan4749 I got the Xenns Mangird Top since then, really enjoy them for the music i listen to. ill try the tips on the zeros since i've been neglecting them. Thanks!
hmmm i still dont wanna regret getting the og truthear zero over the reds, but this makes me so damn curious about them. The design of the reds look boring to me that’s why i leaned over getting the og zeros and compromise through tuning.
Are there no really neutral IEMs? All these IEMs are missing mids, simulating "clean" sound to the brain. But it's just an illusion. Only when you add the mids you'll get the full sound with all the details.

Great video. Can we possibly get a video about "entry-level" IEMs for each category so we can experience each signature on a budget?

I'm surprised that Moondrop Chu 2 is shouty, it's just like 1db more uppermid than most IEM in my opinion.
Use Dekoni foam tips and it cleansing right up!
