I was an young boy when Satanic Verses were written and I recall thinking: this guy is REALLY courageous.
Now, decades after, and he keeps showing a level of courage I dont see in most of the people on its 30s.
Long live, professor! You are inspiring!

It is so hard to imagine writing a book about any subject that somehow infuriates so many people that one cannot live at peace ever again.

I am so pleased that Salman found a way to deal with such an horrific attack, and rightfully so, and turned to what he does best - write. A cathartic book for him and his family I'm sure. These hateful attacks are pure evil based on a regime that see's anyone not from the faith, talking about, questioning, philosophizing etc. as blasphemous, but it is not a crime, the universal God will not be angry, and open to all of us. We must protect our freedom and from indoctrination of hate - that takes education and deradicalizing a mindset. God Bless Salman, live life to the full.

Doctors in the front row also rushed up and staunched the massive bleeding which may have averted the worst outcome. What a horror this was.

Rushdie made me realise the threat that that religion poses on the whole of Western society.

When Christianity is critisised - Some will make the comparison that "Well you wouldn't dare say that about Islam". And this guy did, and he's an example of what happens. Do those christians then want their compatriots to go around stabbing a man in the eye simply for expressing himself? WHAT are they talking about? Nobody should be assaulted for any reason.

He warned the world of a threat which's evolved but not ceased to exist.

This is what real courage looks like.
Compare and contrast his bravery, with the clueless cowards who make meally-mouthed noises about Free Speech and Free Expression being "Right Adjacent", use the Heckler's veto to scream and shout down a speaker they don't agree with; cancel culture; "micro-aggressions"; "trigger-warning", etc, etc.
The kids have a lot to learn.

Importing conflicting cultures was insane. If you just let anyone say that they think then their opposition does the same and before you know it you have a brawl. What happens in a pub or concert, is not different to what is bound to happen in the larger society.

Boris Johnson said Salman Rushdie wasn't a good enough writer to be knighted? I had no idea. What a buffoon he's always been.

The interviewer is showing sympathy for both Sir Rushdie who has suffered an awful attack at the hands of an Islamist and for history distorting ingnoramuses supporting 7 October savages who did most unspeakable violence in the name of Islam filming themselves while glorifying allah. An individual’s stance on Israel’s right to exist and to defend herself remains a reliable gauge for double standard.
