From what I hear Ivey like most of these "pro players" is in serious financial trouble. They overspend, they get tax trouble, they're compulsive gamblers who we see win big, but we don't see when they lose big. These people do not have enviable lives. And they need the money badly enough they have to go on TV and debase themselves.

I'm guessing you haven't run into ace king or better enough. Remember the action. Phil raises under the gun, IVEY 3 bets in next position. 4 betting with Ace Queen in his spot is terrible due to possibly going up against a bigger hand and that those two have early position. They are leading out whether they hit or not. Years of lessons.
I can't stand when players do that. I understand being annoyed by it. Im trying to win easy money and I'm currently taking advantage of this situation. Advising a player making poor choices to play better is not good for the game.

Ivey is a cool slick guy. He tried to hustle me into playing for the first time at the Taj in AC in about 95. He actually walked up from the table to the bar were I was standing complimented by clothes and offered to teach me poker. I was a few years older than him and was nicely dressed but only had about $200 in my pocket. He thought I had a few Gs lol. Wish I had played instead of the BJ but I was sharp enough to tell he was definitely a Hustler. Anyway it would have been interesting.

The fact Ivey is the quietest and has the largest stack by far oughta tell you something. Some times all that jawin' keeps you from focusing on the cards.

He's actually not that introverted,he's quite a character when he's not in hands or like here in a bad mood,iv met him and seen him live a few times before and he actually talks quite a bit off the felt.i think here he just didn't want to be there but had to be because of the contract.add on top how annoying everyone else at the table is too

Ivey is a cool slick guy. He tried to hustle me into playing for the first time at the Taj in AC in about 95. He actually walked up from the table to the bar were I was standing complimented by clothes and offered to teach me poker. I was a few years older than him and was nicely dressed but only had about $200 in my pocket. He thought I had a few Gs lol. Wish I had played instead of the BJ but I was sharp enough to tell he was definitely a Hustler. Anyway it would have been interesting.
