BOTHWELL CASTLE - SCOTLAND'S FINEST 13th CENTURY CASTLE? - PART 1

  • A walk round Bothwell Castle (considered my many to be the finest example of Scotland's castles from the 13th century) and a look at it's history. This is just part 1 of a series of videos looking at Bothwell Castle and looks at the early part of the life of the castle. This will be followed shortly by part 2 which will look at the mid and latter portion of the castles life.
    I aim to return and do further videos covering the inside of the castle, but that will need to wait on the castle opening back up to the public following the end of the covid restrictions.

    My family in Scotland lived by Bothwell Castle. So lovely to see it again. My breath taken away

      yeah the red sandstone is stunning. it is even more so when the evening sun hits it.

      Your welcome. You should see inside, it truly is a stunning place. I plan to go in as soon as it opens. They are carrying out some vital restoration work on the wall just now.

      @@scotlandforeverwithjohn1647 Yes covid has taken a toll on all of us for sure. Scotland is such a beautiful place. I fell in love with such a Historical place. Hope to visit one day. Probably stay awhile and visit all its rich history and castles.

      @@erika4ktrucking yeah it has. But it wont last forever at least. Well i encourage anyone who hasn't visited scotland to try it at least once. It would be advisable to stay as long as you can as there is so much to take in. But i reckon that there is something here for everyone :)
