I always hated losing in a game. But this battle is different. When I played this, I fought all the Pain's with full intention of not giving up no matter how hard it might be. I gave it everything for Master Jiraya. I cried the whole time. And on that last button command, I put my heart into it. It was a truly excellent battle. Jiraya was a good man. And a honorable ninja. He died a true shinobi's death. RIP Jiraya. I'll miss you.
Pervy Sage lived up to his name, but when he needed to, he stepped up and went BAMF mode on anyway that threatened him or the people he loved. And he died like a badass against Pain, even taking of the bodies with him (though the game version was his death was so much cooler than his actual death)

Jiraiya is one of those death that hit harder then some for good reason unlike say chiyo's death Jiraiya hit harder because this was a character that was introduced so early into the series we got to see quite a bit of him and see his connection to the main character spending so long with a character only to kill them off much later in the franchise and knowing you'll never see them again doesn't help that he was a lovable goof ball too
The way Jiraya's death is presented in the game is WAY better then the anime. At least he didn't die with his face on the ground. Those who disagree, how dare you call yourself Jiraya fans
Late comment, I know (Four years is a hell of a wait xd) But wasn't that actually kind of the point? Jiraya died with his face in the ground because it added to his whole inner monologue about how his whole life had basically been a failure up to that point. From his own perspective, he'd failed at everything he tried; he'd lost his students, his friends, and now he couldn't even die as a ninja was supposed. At the very end, he failed his mission. He was dying in shame. That's why the later part where he rallies one last time and is inspired by Naruto is able to counterpoint this so well. There's no brightness if there isn't darkness before it. For Jiraya's last stand to mean anything, he had to rise above his own sense of shame and guilt.

Both this song and 'White-Hot Battle at the Summit' (the music that plays during the final part of the Naruto vs Pain battle, after Naruto's talk with the 4th Hokage) also fail to play in the Steam version of Storm 2. Additionally, 'The Fourth Awakening' does not play when Yamato and Sakura fight Naruto (in his 4-tailed form). These bugs are exclusive to the Steam version; the PS3/Xbox 360 originals (which are also locked at 30fps) are not bugged this way. It wouldn't surprise me if the Switch version was based off the bugged Steam version (thus, 'inheriting' all the bugs that the devs didn't bother fixing for that particular port).
All that applies to the PS4 and Xbox One version too. Plus, the theme for when Sasuke and Itachi first fought each other in the Leaf Forest was less dramatic. Game Devs. had ONE JOB!
