    Years back I got an old VHS tape cabinet at a yard sale for a couple dollars. It's perfect storage my smaller items like jello/pudding boxes, spices, and smaller cans (like diced chilies, tomato paste).

    PInapple will only last 5 years before it eats through the can. Just an FYI to the people that do not know. Pineapple digests the can.

      I lost a fair number of canned fruit. Some cans basically exploded. Blew the tops off. So I’m skipping the canned fruit…..maybe a few cans here and there.

      Could use possibly can the canned fruit in a jar? Or no. I'm not experienced with the knowledge of canning but curious.

    • @tarabooartarmy3654
      @tarabooartarmy3654 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@heavenforney2092 Yes, the fruit in a jar lasts longer as long as its stored upright so the contents don’t corrode the inside of the lid (unless the lid is plastic, in which case it doesn’t matter.) I’ve had cranberry sauce eat through a can in just one year. Made a mess in my pantry with a bunch of black liquid. Pineapple in just 3 years. It’s unfortunate.

    • @boog.2751
      @boog.2751 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Ive had pineapple for a year and a half eat through the can. I now store the cans separately in sealed bags in case they leak or explode. I've seen bulk cans of applesauce explode at churches also when i did catering.

    I always vacuum seal my noodles or anything that is packaged in a box, the box usually has quite a lot of space inside and you can date each bag and place into a container.

    We have three cabinets up & down on one wall in the kitchen, that's all. The top one is too tall for me to reach without a step stool. I'm short & it's an award fit because it goes up higher than the door allows. It's a tetris game so it's for paper towel & small cooking appliances only. The middle one has a very small back shelf that's all. Still figuring that one out. The bottom cabinet is taller & goes back far but isn't too wide. We bought a savvy shelf can organizer & it works great for the space. Highly recommend for those types of spaces. We had a blank wall on the side of the cabinets so we put up a cherry wood pantry from closetmaide. That I put all of our food boxes in. Took some creative thinking on my husband's part to get everything organized, but it's working way better now.

      Or turn the shelf facing the wall. No one's business what you have. I have boxes in my closet marked Christmas decor, Hanukkah, etc.. that has my good stuff (expensive food) stored in them. Sometimes I put old garland on top in case they look inside. Also mark college textbooks, family pictures. No one wants that stuff.
