Neal Pogue made me appreciate tone and texture and most importantly that there are no rules. Because of him, I realized I had to throw away what "industry standard" meant and just find a sound I like. So yeah, thanks Neal.
Came across you guys a couple months ago. Just wanted to say, I don’t know if you’ll truly know the value that you bring to us in the community. But for me, thank you. This feels like home
I feel like I can def hear the Master Plan on Chromakopia, notably on Sticky..love the mix. Super dope to hear this was all done ITB Edit: Also want to say also so sick to see MyStudioNerds back in the mix! We back! The content is gold.
1st let me say THANK YALL. With the way my mind works is I take in (tid bits) of information/data if you will and retain lessons that way. I have always get compliments on how fire my beats are " I use Reason 12 by the way" FIRE but the mixes were always garbage. Listening to Yall gave me just what i needed to take my music to the next level. I had no understanding of how to really use a plug in but now after listening to my nephews and wanting all of this info to stop and let me breath but if I had my mixes would not be as ridiculous as they are. I'm studio one pro 7 now and very happy with it. You all are making a difference and that's our duty to mankind. I could go on for hours but I won't. I'll just say the podcast is like hanging out with a cool ass group of Nerds and its working. THANK YOU ALL.
I got the compressor I just need the EQ next please 🙏🏽🙏🏽 I love the compressor super easy to use and honestly sounds better than most stock and third party!
'Feel A Way' by Kaytranada ft Don Tolliver is definitely a sonic drug! Perfect description of Neal's mix goal 'to make the mix/song sound feel like a drug'. I try not to even think about that song because it usually take me about an hour or two to get it out of my head. LOL! One of my all time songs/mixes by Neal Pogue. 🙌🏾
Wow, I feel the enthusiasm DT has while interviewing Neal. Anyone who has him involved in there projects should feel super blessed. Gem Dropping One Time!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
22:39 he actually missed one of the main reasons oversampling can sound 'softer'. all oversampling uses a low pass filter to get rid of super highs which cause aliasing. most plugins use a linear phase filter by default and linear phase processing introduces a small amount of pre-ring. similar to when you use a linear phase eq, its that subtle smudging of high end transient information that can cause the 'softer sound'. so yeah sometimes no oversampling is totally the best option. its a tossup between aliasing distortion vs transient smearing
THE SOUTH GOT SOMETHING TO SAY BABY. We are so lucky to have such quick access to levels of greatness like Neal, and his work is so quiet that if you don’t look deep enough you’d never know how important he is to the sound we love and aim to emulate today.
ay i just noticed all the DIAMOND💍MEMBERs who got merch with MY AUDIO NERDS now have a OG piece of Merch that no one else will get, DANG IM JELLY JEALOUS i wanted one, but lets gooo MY STUDIO NERD✊
@seanleonwhite I am still to use Master Plan I need to cop that ASAP! So happy this pod is back!! Give Neal that EQ or Compressor he can have mine the legend 🤣

Neal was the 1st guest I heard mentioning the Rosetta plugins !
